The bookmarks rooftop bar was quaint and quiet, a nice place to get away from the bustle of the city.
We were utterly charmed by this boutique hotel. The look and feel of the place is just like the name of the hotel. Apropos given its distance from the NY Library. The pre-dinner champagne events are a wonderful way to start the evening. The staff is very helpful. And the roof-top area is a great place to wind down the...
It was a good stay. The hotel is small which is good or bad based on your preference but the only issue with small for me was the fact that there were only two elevators which took a little time. The rooms were very clean but small, the TV was super small. Not much of a view from the 8th floor facing south. Close to Grand Central and the library and Bryant Park. They have a 2nd floor lounge which serves a continental breakfast and wine and cheese in the evenings but we missed the breakfast by 1/2 hour and when we got to the wine and cheese they were just closing up. Overall a pleasant stay but I wouldn't rush out to re-visit.
This is an absolutely fantastic hotel. We spent 6 nights here. The room was lovely and cleaned everyday. The staff were always welcoming. The free breakfast included porridge, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, bagels, toast and cereal. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available 24 hrs a day for free. Wine and cheese also available in the evening for free. Bathrobe and slippers, hair dryer and mini fridge, air conditioning, umberella and bath products are all complimentary for use whilst there. There are books every where!! This hotel allows you to have a little piece of tranquillity in a very busy city.
The Library Hotel has a homely vibe because of its unique library theme with selection of books available in your room based on the theme of your floor. There is a dedicated reading room and a roof top terrace.
Great mid-town location, 2nd floor concierge lounge, each room has a theme with books associated. Rooms are tight but well appointed. Enjoyed my stay there and read lots of interesting books.
Great spot, good service and a nice set up. Good for a business meeting, not so loud so you can actually hear one another. Drinks were well priced given the area, onlybset back was having to take the staircase or elevator to get to the bathroom. I'd certainly host a meeting or get together here again.
Sweet spot, the rooms are all themed according to book categories with a deci-point something system.
The second floor hosts a wine and cheese session in the evening. The book selection is not as impressive as I had hoped but it's still an interesting and cozy place. The WiFi in the rooms needs an upgrade, but otherwise works well in the reading room.
Service is excellent. The people that work here are pretty cordial and professional. It's conveniently located near Grand Central and, while, there's a Starbucks across the street, there is a solid espresso machine in the reading room. Bar upstairs and downstairs. Mmm ... yeah, cool and unique place, just needs more WiFi love.
Nice place...great service. A stone's throw from Grand Central
Outstanding accomodations. Very comfortable and restful amazing service
And right in the heart of Manhattan
Had a great stay, thanks for helping my wife fall in love with NY
Great decor and nicely tucked away rooftop for a quiet drink!
Just booked my 2nd stay at Library Hotel. There is no other place, for the money, that I want to stay. It's very quiet, especially after 7pm, and the street noise is almost nil.
Cheese and wine social from 5-8 every night included with stay was so nice. Will be coming here for every NYC trip.
Friendly staff that were very helpful and accommodating.
Madison and Vine was a good spot for breakfast. Friendly service, menu was nice.
The place to stay for bookworms, or anyone who loves reading.
Stopped in at rooftop bar after b'way show. Great location & space, innovative & fun drinks, comfortable seating, library theme well executed, staff friendly & helpful.
Very nice hotel with a unique concept. The rooftop lounge looked amazing but has very strict hours so make sure you check first. Friendly staff that was super accommodating.
Charming. Very nice rooms, soft soft towels. Great air conditioning. Lounge has everything. Love this place.
Boutique chic! We love it! The staff is amazing too! Megan the waitress at the Rooftop bar, spot on!
Nice hotel with a library theme... literally books everywhere.
Great stay! Service and accommodation are great! I will definitely recommend this hotel and will come back. <10 minutes. Walk to the subway to Manhattan. Very quiet and clean and very friendly and helpful staff. The amazingly quiet way is to be close to La Guardia!
Great ambience, breakfast was awesome, business center reliable and room amenties were perfect! Greeted by a great team dedicated to service and the best part, perfectly priced in a great location steps from grand central!
nice space. the cocktails were fine but not the focus.
This is a review of the rooftop bar. Unbelievable atmosphere with a great wait staff. Went on a Saturday at 3pm and had the entire outdoor space to ourselves. Perfect
Went to the rooftop bar. Very pretty location, although the drinks were a little lackluster.
Visited the rooftop bar, - very cute, great service and drinks!
Really loved our stay. Small NYC rooms were layed out nicely and never felt crowded. Service was as good as you are going to get.... seriously great staff!
Good hotel, breakfast is only thing that can be better. Choise is limited
I spend 5 wonderful days there last August and will be returning in January for a quick weekend trip and I know from past experience I will be treated well.
Went to the restaurant for lunch, it was busy but the service was great, burger was delicious, and it was speedy
would give them 5 stars, but the room was hot as hades! they did bring us a fan the 2nd night and we were able to open the windows, so between those 2 factors, the rest of the stay was very pleasant. oh, and the robes provided are not one size fits all and not the comfy plush robes you see people in on movies & tv.
Paid alot of money. Was extremely disappointed with the car service. Had to find the driver outside at the airport, then he got into a car accident. Had to wait 45min for a new car. The hotel offered me a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. Which would probably have been fine, but I don't drink.
My favorite hotel in the entire city.
Great location, rooms, service, the atmosphere cannot be beat!
My husband and I have come here twice already and will continue to come back! The staff are super friendly and even the smallest rooms have charm and appeal. They have free coffee , tea, and small snacks all day and a wine and cheese tasting from 5-8 every night. They have a rooftop bar and great costumer service with a convenient location right by Grand central Station. They even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne for celebrating our anniversary there!
Didn't stay at this hotel, but had a very good interaction with the bar tender when I needed change for a bus.
Very nice boutique hotel which is library themed. Amazing decor and decent pricing
Had drinks and dessert at Madison and Vine and had a really great experience. Great wine list and the brownie Sunday was excellent.
Beautiful and unique boutique hotel! Great central location, walking distance to Rockefeller and Central Park. Well appointed, spotless and tastefully decorated room. Staff is top notch, professional, friendly and courteous. Nice lounge with coffee bar (espresso, cappuccino, americano) and snacks available at all times and a nice continental breakfast as well as snacks in the afternoon. I will definately return and highly recommend!
This place is great. Small rooms but everything is comfortable, clean and the books are great. The service is fantastic as I the rooftop bar and guest lounge. Good stuff.
Beautiful hotel with a great theme. I wish I could afford to stay here.
Went to bar on 14th floor. Nice relaxed vibe, not crowded
Great rooftop bar. Gets crowded but space is cozy up there. Perfect for a beautiful night.
Beautiful hotel with a great theme (and tastefully themed rooms), very helpful staff, a good location, and lots of amenities. One of the hotels I most consistently recommend in New York.
Wonderful staff, super clean, can't wait to visit again!!
I can t rant enough about how amazing this hotel has been so far. Some of the best hotel service I have ever encountered. Not to mention the breakfast and wine and cheese every night. I couldn t list all the nice little things they do but they add up for a great stay. Will stay here as often as I can. It is absolutely adorable.
Went to the Bar/Lounge and the service was as good as the drinks. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Nice patio upstairs. It's open air. Drinks are generously poured. Lots of nice stone architecture.
Excellent hotel. Great service. Will definitely stay again.
It was a nice hotel. I don't really want to write up a whole review though.
Great cocktail bar on the roof. Aged whiskeys and great views.
Great place to grab a glass of wine on their roof top bar.
Great stay. Friendly staff, room was clean, comfy mattress, lots of books. Location is convenient to many popular spots in the city. Would stay again.
Small but very pleasant rooftop bar with excellent champagne. Also small, but very nice, room with free Wi-Fi and every amenity I wanted. Breakfast included, plus coffee and cookies available for a snack at any time. Great deal in central location, short walk to NY Public Library and 5th Avenue. Highly recommend
It was snowing outside, very cold, but the library hotel ensured that all our needs were met. When we walked into the room, waiting for us was a bottle of champagne, rose petals and chocolate - a very intimate move! The location of the hotel is so good - not far from Bryant Park and the New York Public Library.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Such quaint little hotel with everything you can possibly need. The service is amazing! Free continental breakfast, wine and cheese in the evening and Coffee, Cappuccino, Bottle Water, Latte and pastries all night on the second floor. Definitely recommend it! We stayed in a corner suite room 1006.
We stayed at this wonderfully homey boutique hotel on our first ever trip to Manhattan. I do not think we could have asked for a better place. It was more like staying at a close friend's place, or a bed and breakfast, than it wss like staying at a hotel. The location is easy to get around from, being situated a block from Grand Central Terminal, and 10 minutes from pretty much any North or South local or express subway line you'll need. This is my new benchmark to which all other hotels will be compared.
Great hotel - Super location - Comfortable room - Package with breakfast, 24 hr beverages & pastries, wine & cheese evening buffet excellent
This is our go to place every year. My wife and I are both major book nerds so a library themed hotel is great. Although the rooms are pricey, you get a lot for your money. They don't believe in nickel and diming you. Free snacks and drinks all day in the lounge, continental breakfast and wine and cheese hour. And the staff is wonderful. You can't go wrong staying here.
Great stay at the Library Hotel. We arrived about 8 am after an early morning flight. We received an enthusiastic greeting from the front desk and were invited to enjoy breakfast and use the lounge to relax while we waited for a room to be ready. This hotel feels much like a bed and breakfast. The rooms are cozy and very clean. Breakfast is wonderful. There are snacks, coffee, and tea at all times, as well as a great wine and cheese in the evening. The location is fabulous. We saw two shows and it was a quick 15 minute walk to Broadway. There are great restaurants in the area, and with Grand Central right there, it is easy to get wherever you want! This place is a gem and a definite respite in the busy city! One tip, the entrance to the hotel is on 41st not Madison!
It is a small boutique type hotel. Small rooms but very cozy. Decorated with libraries each plant a theme. Very friendly service. Every day the waitress passes the rooms to see if you need more towels or anything (gel, adapters, toothbrush, pillows ... and gives you some chocolates.
In addition to the continental breakfast included during the day there is free for guests coffee, water and in the afternoon wines, pastas, cheeses and fruit. A real pleasure to get to the peace of the hotel!
We had a wonderful stay at the Library Hotel during our honeymoon trip to NYC. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed all the extras they have. The hotel is in the middle of it all in Manhattan but the room was quiet and comfortable. Can't wait to go again!
