If your POOR and can't afford an attorney you may want to look elsewhere because The Legal Aid Society will not help unless you have a HIGH PROFILE case they can make money off of. Otherwise... don't waste your time doing their 20-minute questionnaire just to be told... they don't have the refund or the the resources to take your case because they let go 20 people because of covid-19. But yet they told me that in 2014, 2016, 2018...I guess that was Covid-19 too.

No contact, went inside establishment and turned in a callback slip did not receive a intake call until this past Thursday. So, with that being said, the 24-48hrs they tell you to await, it's more like 2-3 weeks. Then after intake up to 10 day for an actual lawyer to get back with you with having high priority.

I wonder what do they do with the money they get AND received to help, but never come through for the public. Also, my family have been waiting for almost Two months, just to hear something and nothing at all. No phone call or email NOTHING! ARE THEIR REALLY LAWYERS WAITING TO HELP?

I called legally Aid seeking help because I am actively being denied housing because I have had evictions filed against me. All of my evictions were thrown out because I payed my rent I did not damage property. So I was trying to explain to the lady how this is not a legal practice as I never had an actual eviction and she just hung-up on me without any reason. People do not deserve to be treated in that manner because we may not have the means others have.

I would post no stars if possible. They were prompt in returning calls, so perhaps that warrants a star. I am sure they have helped some people, but the representative I have dealt with was rude, negative, dismissive, matter-of- fact, condescending, insinuating, judgemental, and gave no legal advice. I was all but told I was unskilled and basically a liar. I was talked to like I was child and told that they couldn't help me, for a plethora of non legal reasons. I was all but told I was a fool for even attempting what I needed legal help with. You get what you pay for. I would say this is a joke of an institution, run by quack lawyers who just need a paycheck but have no real burden for the community they are meant to serve. I hope others have a better experience.
