As a parent of two kids, one who has already graduated from this school I enrolled my kids to this school when I saw "personalised learning" written all across the school's website and promoted in their tours. I am disappointed. This Knox School had so much potential to be one of the best independent co-educational schools in the state, with excellent facilities and academic programs. Unfortunately this has all gone to waste, Principal Shaw's hard work and dedication to improve this school when he first came onboard has been counter affective by hiring some of the worst people and giving them high positions in the school. The head of senior school, treats many kids unfairly, is discriminate by race and bias to particular students. I have heard that I'm not the only one who feels this way, you'd be surprised that the kids get picked on an bullied more by their teachers than their peers, of course many of the teachers are very good and treat the kids friendly but it is typically the one's with more power in the school who feel like they have the responsibility to go out of their way and pick on the less talented students. Initially I thought the lack of students in the school would be a positive because it would give my kids more opportunities however I was wrong, the kids are given very limited choices at school, the classes can be 4 or 5 kids and some classes are even mixed year levels its ridiculous. Don't fall for the trap! And don't be so happy if you're child is given a scholarship, they give them out to anyone and it is the worst contract you will ever sign, locking up your children's high school life away at such a horrible school. The kids have mentioned that the head of Chisholm is just as bad, he is known to invade on kid's privacy and join in on whatever drama is going on, between all the kids, and their private lives. because of the small amount of teachers, and the same teachers playing multiple different positions there always seems to be a conflict of interest which makes learning very difficult for the kids. The school is very inconsiderate to family circumstances as well, when I say the school I am mainly referring to the head of senior school van stern. My kid is suffering from post traumatic stress since graduating and has been going to therapy for 5 months now. As well as all of this, the school has been accused of racism from an article on the herald sun!! This school needs to start fresh and reconsider who they want in their higher positions. Best of luck to the new principal.

I have been a student at TKS for 9 years now and I have loved my time at this school. The teachers are caring and always have your best interests at heart and the level of education is at such a high standard.
The whole staff is caring and always deals with issues with integrity until it is resolved.
I would not want to go anywhere else, as the facilities, the teachers and the students are some of the most amazing

im a current student at the school. the school is very small in amount of students which is very disadvantageful because I don't even have a proper class for some subjects and have to have a virtual teacher. we also get in trouble for the littlest things and the even though half the teacher are very good and nice at teaching, many are very rude and not good at teaching. the timetable system is also terrible due to lack of students and teachers also teacher s are very bad at committing to help out students, not all but a lot of teacher do the bare minimum

I've been a student at Knox for 10 years now, and it isn't just the length of time that I've been at the school that makes it feel like home, it's the community. This school feels like home for me and I know my friends feel the same. The small yet tightly knit community we have at Knox means that no one gets left behind. The support programs available to students for wellbeing is never lacking through the mentor program or any teacher or student that you walk past. The school provides great teaching, not just based on study designs but on character, leadership and kindness. teachers or alumni tutors are always on hand either on campus or through Microsoft teams. It's also evident that the teachers are here for their passion, and not extrinsic motivators. I'm so grateful to have attended this School.

As a student at TKS, I love the warm and friendly environment they create. There are many extra curricular activities as well as a strong focus on education. There are a wide range of subjects offered, as well as many other opportunities including ToM, musical nights, theatre, sporting events, and educational challenges. TKS has provided a helpful and caring environment for my six years of high school education and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

attended this school 2 years ago. Bad treatment of students and peers, ranging from social exclusion to racial prejudice. Bad support of teachers to support ones learning despite motto of "achieving your personal BeSt"

I have been a student at the knox school for 4 years now and honestly, there is no words that could describe my love for this school. I came into the school not knowing anyone and now the community there is like a family to me.

The teachers and staff are so supportive, encouraging, caring and always want the best out of their students. The students are all so caring and empathetic. It is not just about the education side but the environment the school creates. Whether that is through the relationships built with teachers or the across year level relationships that have been created through house and mentor programs.

The school has not just taught me so much academically but taught me so much about myself. I have been taught so many life lessons that i will use in the future, and this school has shaped me into the person i am today. I am forever grateful for everything this school has given me.

a student had no choice but to levae the school after having multiple racist encounters but the staff does nothing about it. this student was called the n-word multiple times and all you did was ask what tone it was said in, TONE!? this school claims to care about everyone and value their students but i guess it doesn't apply to POC
