The Kensico Cemetery Reviews

Ariving at Kensico cemetary in early September to bury my father, I first had to claim ownership of his burial plot. All that was necessary was for me to show ID and sign a document. My name and phone number were both wrong on the first version of the form I was given. Office manager/notary eventually provided me with an accurate document and showed me where to sign. At this point, I was finished; however, the ludicrously inept employee whose desk I was sitting in front of gave me no directions, choosing instead to answer multiple phone calls. I, the bereaved (23 years old) was ignored. Both my parents are buried in Sharon Gardens, so I will return all my life to visit. The grounds themselves are lovely. However, the behavior of the incompetent employee and manager made an extremely difficult day worse. I would strongly advise anyone seeking compassionate (no one in the office expressed sympathy for my loss) or even helpful customer service go look elsewhere.

Very beautiful place. If you can say that about a cemetery. My parents are both buried here as well as my maternal grandparents. Also some famous grave sites here as well. If you're final resting place is important to you then this is the place for you. Cemeteries don't get any nicer.

Nice and very clean a wonderful place so peaceful ..

Very nicely landscaped and maintained, peaceful and quiet. Very large and densely populated. It's beautiful, but it's still a cemetery... kind of like saying a shopping mall is beautiful. I went to visit Rachmaninoff's grass be on a cold winter day at sunset. The office staff was helpful in directing me. Many famous people are buried here and they offer maps and a cell phone tour.

My son in law is near the pond. The area has a beautiful Gorgeous landscape. I love it. What really sad I brought beautiful plastics flower and was thrown away. Wasn t allowed.. I wish I knew that before buying it. It broke my heart.

We just buried our mom here. The grounds are beautiful and it s so peaceful. My mom would have been happy to know she was being laid to rest here. RIP mom. You will be missed.

I came to see the babe but honestly there is a lot to see and take in. The grounds are really well taken care of and so it makes for a great walk. It s well worth the trip.

Very nice place. Staff members are good and helpful. I came here with my father last week. My grandmother and father are buried here. This is quite and peaceful. It is strange to stay between dead bodies. But it's green grass landscape really make it more beautiful.

My Auntie was layed to rest here in March 2020. Beautiful Cemetery, she would be pleased.

I love this place very well maintained and the people are very pleasant, I am glad that my brother and I choose Kensico Cemetery for our beautiful Mother.

Beautiful location and landscape with rolling hills. Spectacular view. Can't be happier my wife and sister have been interned there.

My family traveled an hour to visit Kensico Cemetery last week. Since the three of us are all closer to death than birth, it was perhaps one of those trips where we came face to face with the need to live life to the fullest.

The groundskeepers keep everything in tip-top shape. The people in the administrative/sales office were wonderful to us, gave us more than enough information to find the grave sites we wanted to visit, plus directed us to the bathrooms. To top it off, just outside there is a little picnic grove alongside the picturesque Harlem line train tracks.

We were very pleased to be welcomed in such a wonderful way!
