The Kahului Ale House Review

We were told there was an hour wait. The place was packed as it was football monday but the wait was more like 12 minutes so that was good. Our food was better than mediocre. The service sucked. Big time. I'd divulge our waitresses name if she had even told us what it was! Granted the place was packed, but we were there for more than a few hours and it took 15 minutes each time we ordered a round of drinks. She had no personality literally turning around to another table when 1 in our party of 5 was debating over what to order for food. Will i go back? Yes. Will I ask to be seated elsewhere if i see the same waitress? Probably.

The worst place to eat in Maui, on the menu say free refills for coffee. When I got my bill they had charged me twice for coffee. I asked to speak to the manager she says even if the menu says free refills the limit is two. I said if they are going to charge me twice and the service was bad, I would refuse to tip the waitress. The manager called security staff over and had me escorted out of the place. I did not sign my check and refuse to pay. They over charged my credit card and the menu is misleading and false. I highly recommend you eat at other place on Maui. Don't waste your time here. They trap and over charge Tourist because they can. You've been warned.

Arrived at 9:55 and staff said All Bar Orders Closed (Monday). Very different from what indications tell you on Google...
Beside this, seems to be somewhat a sportbar with TV screens all over. And at leasta one pool table.
I am not impressed.

We went here twice on our visit to Maui. We had very friendly service and the food was great. Have an amazing verity on the menu. Enjoyed the live music!!

Too loud at times. It was freezing but they wouldn't turn off the AC or turn it up. Food is mediocre at best. Good selection of beer though mine was spoiled and had to get a different one. They have a sushi bar.

Stopped on our way to the airport...my birthday dinner...our waitress, K... not sure how to pronounce her name, was fantastic! She was pleasant and informative...the food was great...my mango strawberry daiquiri was a great Birthday drink...FAST SERVICE, GREAT CHOICE for a sport bar atmosphere.

Lots of beer on tap, many menu options. Had the poke bowl which was just the fish, a perfect sized portion and very delicious.

Poor service. Ranch dressing spilled on the floor right where you walk in. Host couldnt care less.

Food is great, wonderful beer selection. Ability to see NBA games. When we were there a great live band was playing. Oh and the staff is excellent

Place freaking rules, better than any sports bar on Oahu bar far.

Great prices and they're pizzas are really good. Lots of toppings! Brother had fish n chips, loved it. Will definitely be back!

I came here a month ago and the service was horrible. Was never offered a refill on my coke and had to chase someone down to get my bill. Thought surely that was a fluke and decided to try them again. I had a different waitress with the same horrible service. She never offered to give a refill and I had to chase her down to get my bill. Neither time were they busy. Stood in the back where they get the food joking with other employees and playing on their cell phones. This was my 2nd and last time to deal with such horrible service. There are too many restaurants with people that takes pride in what they do.

My favorite place in Maui. We made it almost every evening while on that side of the island. These were their happy hour nachos. Their main tai's are fabulous.

Terrible experience by far! Not so much the food. The portion size and the taste was great. Only thing is they allowed like 20 kids to play on the pool tables all night. Screaming and yelling like it's a damn chuckie cheese or playhouse, throwing pool sticks, sittong on the tables and grabbing chairs to reach over them. Signs clearly posted saying nobody under 21 allowed on the tables but obviously no manager or waitress wanted to do anything. 3 parties left within 2 minutes of sitting down. Hopefully others have better experiences. Good luck

Sushi at at sports bar? That's what we were told, and we were told right! Mai Tais to start (it's what you drink in Maui) - so yummy. Hubby saw the Spinach Artichoke Dip and had to have some before the sushi. As it turns out, good decision. We had the Baked California Roll (on a recommendation) and the KAH Roll. Both were quite tasty. We shared the Shut Your Mouth Cookie for dessert. A warm skillet full of chocolate chip cookie and topped with ice cream. How can you go wrong? You can't. This was a home run. A slam dunk. A touch down. A goooooaaaalll. We are big fans now.

Cold beer, good food and well thought out cov19 protocols.

Standard bar. They have better than average food with an extensive menu - I always enjoy their mozzarella sticks. They even have a sushi bar. Lots of table and space. Great for a group of friends to meet. Inexpensive. Friendly staff.

I ordered the loaded nachos. By the time it came to our table cheese was hard and chips were stale and beef was dry. We got there at 7:30 pm and got our food around 8:10-8:15. We were super stoked to order sushi and the waiter said there was a different person taking sushi orders. So, we waited and waited and waited for over an hour for someone to take our order. We finished our food and still no one came. Our waitress didn t even come once to check on us. 4 people and our bill was only $79.00. It would have been wayyy more if someone came to take our order. Oh well. Waitress came to the table and we asked for our check. She came and asked how everything was and we said it was alright and we waited for the sushi person to come. All she said was oh sorry she didn t come, here s your check she left it on the table and walked away right after. Sister got a BIG $10 tip. Sorry not sorry. Service is a MUST!!! If you can t handle being busy or have the right customer service attitude then apply somewhere else.

Awesome family friendly bar.. great food for bar food

Awesome selection of beer on tap. The bartender was awesome. Full bar and lounge on a Sunday night proves you're doing something right. The local music was on point as well. The Steak Salad and Oriental Chicken Salad were both great. The food took a while to come out, but nevermind being in a hurry. This is Hawaii, so chillax.

Quickly greeted. Friendly service. Menu of food and alcohol is overpriced. Overall, I would return and also recommend.

If you want to be ignore, go and sit at the bar. They will walk right past you not even look at you or ask what do you want,

Live 10 min. away so convenient for us. Five min. wait to be seated not because it was busy, but only had 2 waitresses. Had the Reubin which is good. Wife had korean ribs were also good. Mgr. sitting nearby dropping f bombs with women close by. Come on man, be a little more professional

It's a sports bar, and perfectly fine for what it is. One thing that would be helpful is listing the actual beer names rather than just brewery location and style.

Really enjoyed this place. I stumbled upon it while I was out exploring by my hotel. The locals rate it really high and I understand why.

Super comfortable, great service, great food. TVs everywhere to catch as many games as you can. They contract a sushi chef during certain hours to execute for the sushi fans.

I had the Ahi Poke and dynamite roll. High priced, but not far off from what I expect on the island.

A band came in and was playing, I was there early evening on a Friday. They also have happy hour menu.

I didnt really had any food there but it looked good, smelled good, it probably taste good as well. The bar in general is a decent size not too big not too small, just right. They even have a pool table. It was closed though but that's something to look forward to.

Was cheated on a check, then called a liar.
I ordered a takeout burger for $11.73. A few days later when I looked at my bank statement it said it was $17.73. I called the restaurant and explained to a lady manager (I forget her name). After several days of run around and saying she would refund me, she then told me there was no way it was $11.73 because a burger comes out to $13.50 even though I know for a fact the receipt was $11.73! It's not my fault if the person who rang it up did it wrong. The whole situation was unnecessary and stressful for a lousy $17!! It's not even the money, it's the principle! Make sure to double check and keep your receipts for evidence when going here folks!

I have been coming to this particular establishment for over 10 years.

Wow..... thank you to my server... I can only say I remember her from back then. I know for sure she is the longest working employee on in the establishment.
Her conversations and genuine feelings towards us made feel even more comfortable.
Didn't get to try sushi... next time but appetizers and drinks were in a fast manner. Very 5star of them. Tvs fully sports oriented... a major plus...and the mains we chose were amazing ... High 5 to the FOH and BOH for there amazing service. Keep it up I will be back most definitely. Aloha Mahalo

Great breakfast this weekend. Good food, friendly service, and all the games on. Open at 8 am! How many places in Kahului can you get B fast on weekend? Plus killer Bloody Mary!. Go.

If you go to this place expecting anything more than pub food, pool and drinks then you'll be disappointed. The food is good and the atmosphere is better. Fun times .

Great food and service. A menu that has a lot to choose from to please everyone. Had live music on a Tuesday that was VERY good. He played covers on his guitar. A TON of TV's here too.

Nice place but staff need improvement. Stop chewing while serving and know what the live music schedule is. We asked for a seat with a stage view but were seated far away and told that there is no live music tonight shortly before the live music started. Also slow service.

Great selection of beer, a diverse menu, and even a sushi restaurant inside make this sports bar a great destination for dinner, drinks, or catching an event with friends.

Great place to watch games, TVs all over. Good food too.
