Excellent! The bread they served before the meal was great. The wine was acceptable and the pasta was excellent. We had tortellini and spaghetti w/ meatballs for dinner and both were great. Edson did a fantastic job of making sure we got a great meal in a timely fashion. We will be back!
Decided to try Italian near the house in Riverview, Fl. They were one of the only ones open til 10pm on a Saturday night. Walking in, nice dainty restaurant. Intimate, not big. Surprisingly walking in, the atmosphere is not filled with the aromas of lasagna and other Italian delicacies. Anyhow, decided to still dine and try out their menu. There is no open bar, only beer, wines, and soft drinks. The staff there was friendly, nothing to brag about, but not bad. The food was mediocre. It wasn t the best, nor the worst either. It was cool for a first time experience. Would not go back, would search for another spot to try. Thank you.
Loved it from start to finish. You can tell this place takes pride in their food. Compliments to the chef! Even the silverware was spotless.
My mother and myself found The Italian Kitchen by mistake one day and decided to try it. We travel from Seffner to Riverview to eat here. The food is prepared to order, not sitting under heating lights. It might take a bit longer, but it is well worth the wait. The food is excellent tasting and worth waiting. The service is also great. Edison is the best, although we like all of the other servers as well. Please give them a try, you will love it.
Overall, very disappointing. It has a really cute atmosphere and relaxing music. It had a nice ambiance and I really wanted to like it. However, the service overall wasn t very good. Once seated, we sat long enough to decide what we wanted to drink, eat, and what desserts we might like if we had the space for them well before anyone greeted us. The calamari was so disappointing we decided not to eat it (which I ve never done in a restaurant before) and they still charged us for it. The main courses were edible, although I didn t particularly enjoy mine (besides the flavor of the Italian sausage, which was surprisingly really tasty!) It was strange that the waiter brought a pitcher of water to the table for our first refills and took away our glasses to refill them the second time. Neither of us felt well after eating this meal, so we drank some alcohol immediately after as a precaution against food poisoning.
Large party of 7 people for dinner. Nice atmosphere in this little Italian restaurant. Service was very nice. Great tasting food at reasonable prices. Everyone loved their meals from appetizers to entrees. We brought cake of our own to celebrate an occasion, and had cappuccinos.
Ambience and decor is nice. Food was great. Spaghetti bolonese was good but needed more sauce. Chef's special was amazing, portion size was good. Fried calamari really yummy nice lite batter, Creme Brulee was good. My only complaint would be they seem to be under staffed as I only saw one waiter and one busboy.
Food and services was espectacular! Dessert (tiramisu) was not as good as I was expecting. Overall Great place, great people, great food.
After reading the previous reviews we were skeptical at best. You cannot compare this little restaurant to Olive Garden at all, my wife had the lasagna which was served hot and filled with ricotta and meat sauce and perfectly cooked noodles, I had the eggplant parmigiana and it actually tasted like eggplant with a side of spaghetti again noodles cooked perfectly, the sauce was excellent. only fault I could find was our server was young and no personality. If Olive Garden is your go to then your not use to real Italian food. We will be back.!!
