Had our mini wedding ceremony here, and it was incredible! Krista was so helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend renting out the space for any event you are having! Gorgeous views and really nice indoor space as well.

Dedicated to advancing the craft of writing in the lower Hudson area on many levels. I've taken several poetry workshops, e.g., one from Patricia Smith a few years back, who is the recent winner of a $100,000 poetry prize and a four time National Poetry Slam champion.

Other faculty have included prominent artists such as nationally known performance artist, Karen Finley. So this caliber of faculty.

My most frequent use of the Center is to attend the monthly third Friday of the month Open Mic readings which are unfailingly a most welcome box of chocolates...

Thanks to these folks for their long-term labor of love.

About The Hudson Valley Writers' Center

The Hudson Valley Writers' Center is a non-profit organization that provides a nurturing and supportive environment for writers of all levels. The center is located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, just outside New York City, and offers a wide range of programs and services to help writers develop their craft.

One of the primary goals of the Hudson Valley Writers' Center is to create a community where writers can come together to share their work, receive feedback, and learn from one another. The center offers workshops in fiction, poetry, memoir writing, screenwriting, playwriting and more. These workshops are led by experienced writers who provide guidance on everything from character development to plot structure.

In addition to workshops, the Hudson Valley Writers' Center also hosts readings by established authors as well as emerging voices. These events provide an opportunity for writers to showcase their work in front of an audience and connect with other members of the literary community.

The center also publishes two literary journals: Slapering Hol Press and River River Literary Journal. Slapering Hol Press publishes chapbooks by emerging poets while River River Literary Journal features poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction from both established authors as well as new voices.

Outreach is another important aspect of the Hudson Valley Writers' Center's mission. The center partners with local schools to offer writing programs for students at all grade levels. They also offer free writing workshops for veterans through their Veterans Writing Workshop program.

Overall, The Hudson Valley Writers' Center provides a welcoming space where writers can hone their craft while connecting with others who share their passion for literature. Whether you're just starting out or have been writing for years, there's something here for everyone.

If you're looking for a supportive community that will help you take your writing to the next level then look no further than The Hudson Valley Writers' Center!
