According to House of Yes website: "You are beautiful. You belong here. Welcome home... This is a space for everyone to feel welcome and loved. Racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia will not be tolerated at our House."

Yet, during the Dirty Panties musical, which was phenomenal and moving in many ways, a man in a fat suit sat on a stool on the bar stuffing his face with chips and prompting audience members to scream out "someone get that man a sandwich". The fat shaming was very uncomfortable to say the least, but it also ruined the show and all of the incredible things that the writers and performers had worked so hard to communicate. Beyond being incredibly hateful, ignorant, and narcissistic, it's like really? That's the moral of the story? That the root of the problem of oppression and objectification of sex workers is fat people?

The welcome statement and non-discrimination policy of House of Yes may need to be amended to clarify that fat shaming is, in fact, tolerated and applauded, so that those of us who value interpersonal respect and have a sense of humor that is evolved past that of a bullied 12 year old can make an informed decision about spending time and money in their establishment, or simply know in advance who it is safe to invite or not invite to one of their shows.

Absolutely no complaints about House of Yes. The music is constantly on point, with 3+ different rooms each with their own theme. The entertainment and themed parties are a fantastic twist on the NY party/dance scene. Two bars make the alcohol easily assessable and the prices aren't outrageous as well!

One of the most pretentious places I've ever been to. We were kiced off the line due to not being gay enough. We were told to come back another night if we didn't didn't like the excessive regulation they emphasised on entry. The reason: not enough glitter on us. They wouldn't even refund the $40/person they decided to impose on the people getting in ($120 for 3 of us). Never thought I'd see discrimination at a venue that is gay friendly in new York.

A lot of fun! Good/interesting atmosphere and friendly staff. A bit expensive in my opinion, but I'm a novice club-goer, so not sure what the norm is. $35 entry plus $3 coat check just seems like a lot to me.

The venue is amazing and the performers are always exciting to watch. You definitely have to pick the right parties though... Some tend to attract a weird crowd and they definitely oversell the place from time to time and it gets very crowded! Wear a costume!!! It's not just encouraged, it's often mandatory.

Never a dull moment! It's been a blast every time I've gone

Update June 2019
I haven't been in maybe almost a year as too much fun can be a bad thing. Just left the Mermaid Parade after party. Maybe it was just the night or the moon but I was quite bored after arriving when the party should have been just getting started but rather felt like it was over. More lit than I recall and not in the good way. My card was declined for some odd reason after using it maybe 10 minutes before. I alerted the bartender I was going to the ATM maybe a foot away as I know I have money and he treated me like a common criminal alerting the security to watch me! I was so angry I could hardly focus on his reasoning preferring to just focus on not reacting. I paid for the drink he assumed I was going to leave without paying for, drank it, and left! I'll give another shot at some point but I felt like it used to be a scene from Madonna's Erotica turned into a Shawn Mendez video which was so sweet I think I left with a tooth ache!! The female bartender's were so self preoccupied you'd have thought you were asking Giselle for a drink!!! Pretty doesn't mean better!!

I m giving the lowest rating because this place has pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses all over the restrooms where people pee and poop. It s one to criticize and make fun of ones religion but this kind of behavior is absolutely disgusting and I am not even religious and criticize the religion a lot.

The bartender had on a really sick 'House of Yes' exclusive t-shirt on. Although writing this post brought back the sheer sadness I felt when I learned I could not purchase one myself because it was given at a staff event, I still need to let everyone know how wonderful the miscellaneous and captivating decor is....as well as the staff.

A very cool place. There is plenty of indoor space plus outdoor area where you can cool down. Three very efficiently run bars supply patrona with plenty of drinks. Amazing acrobatic acts in the main room as well as really cool raised dance floors and go go dancers. Overall a fun experience. Be prepared to pay a $40 cover charge. But in my opinion it was worth it especially since drinks were normally priced for New York City. Plus the entertainment was worth the price.

NYC spirit in a box. This is the place you want to visit to feel the diversity, craziness, party and non discrimination essence of NYC. Put your good, funky, crazy, sparkling clothes and go. Just remember that this place has a strong consent and non discrimination policy. I love it and always have a good time there. Usually there is a ticket ~25$ or more. Usually every Monday they give some tickets free online but they go fast so be fast ;)

I m going here last week.

I m going here last week.

I went to an event called Aura vision or Maybe Paleo Santo... I can t remember.

4-ish hours in (who knows) I met a girl who said her name was Moon-fire Crystal. I m not sure if that was her actual name, but it s the one she gave me.
She was quite friendly and gave me a stone after she talked to it for a while. The stone is purple, shiny and she told me it is supposed to help me with my birthday or something.

After that she gave me smaller stones that where white, kinda like pop rocks but way less tasty and they didn t to the popping thing.
roughly 40 minutes later I started liking the music they where playing (a sort of dancing music but with water and insect sounds added) then I texted 2 of my exes my favorite Bon Jovi Lyrics. And dm d uncle Larry (who s been dead for 4 years) that I loved him 5 times.

Anyways I m rambling.

This place is different. The vibes good but the place is really run down. I don t think I will
be back here. It s kind of a mad max vibe with everything made from old junk, which is cool in a way. The music was also good. There is a lot of odd people that frequent this place so be prepared.

house of yes is so aptly named! It's anything goes, barely any rules. YES is the attitude that runs this place! Very cool open culture, lots of stimulation. Vibe can be hit or miss depending on the party, but when you hit it right, it's the best nightlife in NY!

I actually didn't visit I drive for Uber and I pick up and drop off pretty often. It's a unique experience as people dress up in costume to party. It is a very popular place in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn.

I visit the city several times a year and always look forward to HoY parties. But things have definitely changed here. Queer-oriented parties and events still bring that vibrant and exuberant energy, and the performers here are so incredibly beautiful and talented. But other events and regular nights have become complete sausage fests, with the loads of hyper-macho guys just coming to to try and pick up women. My friend and I went to the Ugly Sweater party and spent the entire night coming up with creative ways to avoid, escape, and flat out turn down guys. It was a nightmare, what happened?

Very nice place to enjoy an evening in NY.

Very nice place to enjoy an evening in NY.
Check the schedule in their website before. There are days for every kind of entertainment.
Really enjoyable and full of life. Don t miss the special events that are available on line. For some of them you have to book in advance even when they are free of charge.
If you are in NYC, don t miss this place!

I was there visiting friends, we decided to check out an event that was being held at house of yes. Not to bad of a place. Liked the set up and stage. It has an open bar. I didn't see an area for food purchase. We got there in time for the catered services. It's surrounded by industrial buildings. Street parking only. We preferred going by uberpool. Enjoyed myself.

Get ready for an experience. Feels like a Bungalow-like social community (with live performances, multiple bars, a hot tub, and vendors sampling products), but is much weirder and more memorable.

(Also, shout out to bartender Rob- Banana for winning the Top Banana Award on the fruit themed night).

Spectacular showroom! I attended a Kat Cunning show. The sound was terrific. The room was tricked out to make use of two stages, a swing, a moon, and the wall (YES, the wall) for singing, dancing, and aerial performances. For this show, it was floor room only. The bar area was in the first room. After the show a second bar opened in the showroom. Even with a full house the bar staff didn't keep you waiting. There is a third space with some seating. I'm not sure if that area is open air in the nice weather. ID was required at the door.

The experience at House of Yes has really changed over time. My last few visits have seen way fewer people in costume and a lot more aggressive guys and couples than when I first started visiting House of Yes.

This is the modern era "studio 54" ... Modern clubbing with some sort of burning man camp vibe. The drinks are somewhat expensive but tasty. The staff is kind. Front door security is standard.

But then you wander around and discover the "vibe" of the place... Surreal... A mix of a circus and a rave and the bourgeois of NYC. There is VIP area... A hot tub... The weekend has cirque du soleil style acts. Must be seen to understand.

The night we went there was German techno playing. Can't remember the name of the act but they have a world class sound system. The women are beautiful. The men are well dressed.

There are side shows inside as well. Bring a few friends or just sneak away and enjoy yourself. Leave your phone in the car...

This spot is much cleaner than other party spots in NYC... For those who remember the vibe is nothing like club EXIT...

It's a nice venue with a great aesthetic and the staff are wonderful. Something about the vibe feels like making a zoo of alternative people for normies. While I enjoyed my time there it seemed far too crowded to dance or enjoy myself and it was difficult to put my finger on why this wonderful place seemed a bit off until I thought about it after leaving.

This is such an amazing spot. The parties are well orchestrated and can get pretty insane- the drinks aren't too expensive, and the decor is... well... VERY House of Yes. Sparkly, playful, fun. This is a really fun "burning man" vibe place.

They also host other events- they just had one for Earth Day supporting renewable energy, local businesses, and reducing their carbon footprint. They're dedicated to their community and making the world a better place.

Go to house of yes for the fun, but leave knowing you supported a business that is green and committed to the planet.

I'm getting older so hitting the same club scene at the Meatpacking district is becoming mundane. Plus, I want to find a fun night club where I don't have to get too dressed up to the nines. House of Yes offers something different.

It attracts a unique crowd. It is ethnically diverse. It has a huge LGBTQ following. The music is great and has an eclectic decorum. During the day I believe it's a restaurant, but at night it is a club.

There is 3 sections: the main stage area, outdoor patio, and indoor dining area (turns to a dance floor at night). All three sections have a bar. Unlike other clubs there is no strict dress code; you can come in as you are. The more different the better. I've seen people come in with full on body paint and colorful wigs.

Drinks are expensive but strong. Bartender can make a stronger if you ask politely. The lines are usually long so get there early.
