Central historical district. There are always a lot of people. If you came for the first time, then the tour is mandatory with a guide.
Sultanahmet square and fountain is a wonderful place to visit in the afternoon, walking and enjoying the beautiful tree colors :)
The center of the city of istanbul ... must be ... istanbul's historical and cultural center ... see for sure ... sultanahmeti did not see istanbul.
The perfect place is very nice in every sense. Do not return without eating meatballs.
This is a historical place that will be incomplete if written in pages. Besides witnessing many historical cases about the Ottoman Empire, it remained the center of the world for a while in the Byzantine and Roman periods. It is possible to taste the open-air museum, where many historical monuments are together in the square.
It is not impossible to see tourists in summer, winter, day and night in the square where almost all of the tourists visiting our country are worth seeing.
Especially with the games of the lights at sunset, you can catch unforgettable moments.
the police should focus on the security of the people by leaving the picture aside
Small cozy central square between Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
Near the area of the former hippodrome.
There are a lot of people in the square at any time, but this is not annoying.
There are benches at the fountains - you can sit, admire either Sofia or the mosque :), buy chestnuts or corn and eat right there (as locals do) or listen to an audio guide (like tourists).
Even wandering in these places that have witnessed history is a separate pride
Of the most famous mosques and historical center of the center it is located. Istanbul, a landmark and an archaeological shout and all tourists visit this monumental edifice. And the tomb and shrine of Sheikh Galilee Ahmed Sultan and close to markets, transport and tourist hotels. It has halls for memorizing the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophetic Hadith.
A beautiful place with ancient history. Before blueing, I advise you to read Wikipedia, it will be much more interesting
Corona time is one of the best places to be seen :)
Just outside The Blue Mosque. Lots of busy stalls, great for last minute souvenirs.
Open air museum, one of the biggest squares in Istanbul. It is surrounded by many historical sites. One side is the Hagia Sophia Museum on the other side of the Blue Mosque, and the Yerebatan Cistern is slightly ahead. Thousands of tourists every day spent time spent in the sky is a nice spacious place.
It's really beautiful place. It's perfect for relaxing and walking with your family
very very nice historical place and must see in istanbul
I love the atmosphere day and night. Families gathered together making picnic, playing, laughing, buses going everywhere and trams as well. You have cash points and the tourist police 24/7. You can snack on some sweetcorn (5TL) or chestnuts (10TL to 30 TL) which are delicious. As you sit down to watch your environment, people selling water(1TL), tea or coffee will offer everyone for 3TL. One evening as I was sitting on a bench drinking tea, I was approached by a 25 year old man, he started to talk very respectfully so I didn't mind a conversation until he started to flirt. Perfect if that is what you are looking for.
I have seen some Turkish guys pretending to be Spanish which I am, to a Korean tourist trying to take him for drinks. It was a bit strange and I would be careful. If you have any problems, talk to the police, present all over the square.
Amazing restaurants offering homemade Turkish food for around 32TL (food, drink and bread). The restaurant is called Can. Other similar ones along the tram line.
Beautiful place close to Ayasofya Mosque and the Grand Souk
Very impressive square in the center of ancient Istanbul, Constantinople.
Impossible to visit Istanbul without spending at least 1 full day in this beautiful square where all the main historical attractions of Istanbul are located: Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque (you don't have to pay for the ticket, they also give the clothes appropriate for a mosque), Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, various museums and much more including restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, souvenir shops, in short, a bit of everything.
In addition, the Hurren hammam is also present, a bit expensive but worth it.
Ideal place to take great pictures!
Very unemployed at night and the surrounding restaurants are very expensive
The historical place to be in Istanbul. Blue mosque and hagia Sophia. The best way to experience the meeting of West and East
Sultanahmet Square is located between the mosque with the same name or Blue Mosque, and the church of Hagia Sophia or Hagia Sophia. In the center of it a beautiful fountain is a tourist attraction. There are several places of interest nearby, such as the Basilica of the Cistern or Cistern of Yerebatan, the Hippodrome, the Topkapi Palace.
You should deffinitly visit sultanahmet square its great and very historic. There are mosaic museum and topkap palace and hagia sofia museum great.
The place for walking The square in the middle of the Sultanahmet Mosque and the Museum of the Mosque of Ayasofia .. Ayasofia Entrance fees, and Sultan Ahmed Mosque without fees
One of the most popular tourist destinations in Istanbul
Heart of Istanbul. Probably to bypass all the sights located on the Sultan Akhmet square will leave exactly 1 day no less. A couple of hours just will not be enough. Topkapi Palace, Harem, Aya Sofia Museum, Basel cistern, Sultan Ahmet Mosque. Well, eat the cutlets Sultan Ahmet in the cafe through the tramway, there are permanent lines.
The German tap on the eastern side of Sultanahmet Square
This is a must visit place if you are in Istanbul. It s vibrant and diverse and a hub for tourists from all around the world and a centre for historical landmarks Blue mosque, Hagia Sofia and others. Lots of food to relish and not far from the bazaars if you want to do some authentic shopping. The square is easily accessible by tram if you are not staying in one of the many nearby hotels. A lovely experience I visited like three times once at night and it always had a unique exquisite atmosphere to it and a perfect spot for memorable pictures must visit again
This square is very beautiful. It is located between Hagia Sofia and the blue mosque. By day it is very crowded, it would be difficult to find one's way around if there were not two monuments. In the evening it is less crowded, all the lights come on and the atmosphere is very suggestive.
An exquisite place... a historical place. Well decorated with a panaromic beauty. Someone should sit there and enjoy the beauty. In winter you can take a cup of coffee and if you like you can have a Cigerrate.
Istanbul is home to many historical artifacts and the largest tulip carpet in the world is going to be built there and see the German Fountain snake milk and a place that contains more historical works
A beautiful, quiet and safe area for families. I love the area of Sultan Ahmed and I always stay there
All major sights within walking distance. On Ramadan there is also a small market that you can go through and there is something to buy from all cities in Turkey.
In order to feel you are in istanbul , you have to visit such place , very authentic, safe day and night, you can make it your center when ever you need to cover old istanbul , highly recommended:)
For the events of Ramadan, the baby would be a place to be lost in the darkness and not arranged near the square of sultanahmet. There are so many. I recommend it to be illuminated very well before all.
Great place in a square of the most beautiful parts of the peninsula
One of the rare places I did not get into traveling
The heart of Istanbul. No matter where you look history, wherever you look Byzantine and Ottoman
Surrounded by the popular historical attractions. And a place I love hanging at. Very cozy and family friendly.
Its defination of little noise with relaxation. Good for the people who love green environment, history old monuments, beautiful view, clear sky,no pollution, friendly people.
I have been living in a dormitory near my student years. I didn't feel much change after years, a Istanbul pearl that everyone should see.
Istanbul is the heart of Turkey and Sultanahmet square is the crown of Istanbul. Blue Mosque worth to visit facing Hagia Sofia enriched its beauty with history since two centuries. I love Istanbul and desire visit on every stop over..
It is definitely a place to go in Istanbul
Sultanahmet Square is one of the most important squares of Istanbul. In the Byzantine period, the Hippodrome is within the Roman Circus Square, known as the Horse Square in the Ottoman period.
The place is beautiful, the whole area is beautiful and the Sultanahmet mosque is very good and the prices are good
Between Hagia Sophia and Sultan Ahmet is almost the center of the world ...
