After leaving Mormonism I bounced around from church to church looking for a church grounded in the Bible. No more legalism or traditions. I needed sola scriptura. I found it at the Hills church.
I've attended the Southlake Campus for 9 years now. My kids grew up here. We love the family atmosphere, the Kids ministry, the Student ministry and the welcoming feeling we get every time we walk through the door.
I love my church. Really down home type folks that KNOW the struggles and everyday life of a believer WITHOUT judgement. They teach grace And mercy but with a healthy dose of responsibility and repercussions! I love my home church, the NRH campus, but we're are a united family!
My family began attending services here in 1999, when our youngest (of 5) was almost 6 years old. She is now married & working with kids in a nearby community. We are empty-nesters these days, and the building has changed from the Southlake Church to The Hills Church, Southlake Campus. Through nearly 2 decades of ups & downs, God has been in charge. GIVE HIM PRAISE, CHURCH!
Great church, went there for several years through middle school and high school and it really made life better. The youth program was fantastic under Jeff Gary and the kids I met were way more welcoming than other places I've seen. I'm in college now, and I still look back fondly on all the people I met.
Breakfast with Santa is an amazing annual event here! Sunday services are also great!
So let me be fully transparent...I work at The Hills so this review is more of a behind-the-scenes peek at what makes it so special. The leadership team and staff love to see lives changed by the good news of Jesus. They welcome everyone and celebrate every life that's changed through Jesus. This church is great if you need a place to belong, a place to call home, where you can find hope and help. And the cherry on top...this campus of The Hills has a fantastic preschool where my kids have thrived. The preschool might be the best kept secret in Southlake.
I love my home church at North Richland Hills. The worship is amazing. The mission team is impressing. God bless every one at all our
