This place is nothing but amazing! The food is fantastic, has great wine selection, fantastic place for a special occasion or romantic diner. The waiter went above and beyond to provide us with best experience. It is a high-end place, when I was there it was nearly empty, but make sure you make a reservation. If you are a foodie with a stile, thus is a place you should visit.

My husband and I stumbled into Lon's about 7 years ago while escaping from a business conference for an evening. It was a magical evening under the trees in the June heat, lights twinkling in the trees above us and sublime food before us.

Ever since, we have made a visit to Lon's a part of every trip to Phoenix and we have never been disappointed. This year we even decided to stay on property and have loved the food, service and ambience.

I hadn't been here in years, but I decided to come here for a special lunch with my fiancee. The patio is one of the most romantic places in the valley. The food is really amazing...farm to table with a lot of things being made in house. The kombucha is a must try! The sound of the fountain is so relaxing you don't want to leave. As a pescatarian (I eat fish) there were delicious options.

This is a lovely restaurant. The outdoor area is very romantic. Inside is also very fun, lots of cowboy artifacts. The food is excellent. We had lamb, chicken and shortribs. Get the truffle Mac and cheese!

Though the food was excellent, the level of service doesn't even rise to being considered amateurish. Since it was my wife birthday, I held my comments for her sake, but it is unacceptable to bring an alcoholic drink (specifically chosen from the non-alcohol drink list they have available) to a someone with 28 years of sobriety. They forgot the appetizer, so they brought it after the meal. The manager came over and apologized, then said this would be on the house, but was put on the bill. The waiter forgot the birthday dessert and had us order regular desserts. Then, when we were standing up to leave, a birthday dessert came out. I did not make complaints since I didn't feel it worth souring my wife's celebration, but there are too many great restaurants out there that also have great food & ambiance, but run well enough to be consistent with their ability to provide good service. And quite frankly, it becomes tiresome when you lose count of how many apologies they felt obligated to give us. Despite enjoying the food, it will be a long time before I will want to return.

Nice dinner experience at Lon's at The Hermosa. Mostly valet parking, access to self parking was confusing but possible. Our server Scott was top notch. He took excellent care of us. Food was good and cooked to my liking. Outdoor seating was great, we had gorgeous weather.

Customer service is key here and they live up to it. I took 1 star off bc we came for brunch and ordered a bottle of champagne. Instead of telling us we would need to wait for it to chill to the appropriate temperature; so that we could decide if we still wanted it or a different type that was already cold, we got our food. So we ended up being done with our meal when the first glasses were poured. Not the end of the world; but also not ideal.
They have a beautiful outdoor patio that is also nice for happy hour.

two days ago was the first time we came to that fine restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We enjoyed the evening very much with the good service, with the exceptional food and booze and with the decent price. We will surely return there again.

One of my favorite places to eat and stay. Everyone is extremely friendly. The monkey bread is amazing!! I love to walk around the grounds to see the beautiful plants and water features. If you time it right you can catch a wonderful sunset. I love the valet service. It makes everything so much easier as well!

My boyfriend's niece & her friend took us here for brunch to say thank you for letting them stay with us. All the food was amazing! The presentation for each dish looked devine. The monkey bread was to die for! I highly recommend this restaurant. We sat outside, it was a little warm but that is to be expected in June in AZ. The servers were very tentative. I would definitely go back.

Lon s Hermosa Inn is truly one of a kind. A boutique hotel with so much more. A western or southwestern home of a famous cowboy artist Lon, The Hermosa Inn is many things; elegant cowboy dining indoors with impeccable service and the most amazing steaks perfectly cooked; a large outdoor dining patio under palo verde trees trimmed in lights; the Dew Drop Inn bar that s both bar counter seating and outdoor patio, with legendary libations, live music on the patio, a salt cellar private dining room too cold naturally to dine in during winter months so the close it; the library that sends you mentally to a scene in Bonanza and it doubles as a private event venue. And it is all available to patrons to tour. I enjoy the personalized Family Circus cartoons on the hall wall.

We made reservations for morning brunch on the patio. This was our first visit. The table and service were both excellent. We were worried at first about sitting outside due to the warm weather. However, trees provided great shade and the trickling water fountain added the feeling of relaxation. The food couldn't have been more perfect. We truly enjoyed our expirience.

Everything was great, awesome service and food was some of the best I've ever had. Wish I could get their queso recipe. Had the braised short rib it was so tender it pulled apart with a fork. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great night out. Rooms were great and offered lots of room to enjoy yourselves in would be a great for a couples get away. All staff was very friendly and great for offering help.

LON s at the Hermosa ...

LON s at the Hermosa Feb 15 2014

I ran out of space on the comment card describing our dining experience on Feb 14 2014 Valentine s Day also my wife s birthday.
I am writing this letter as I did not want to cause or make an embarrassing experience for my wife & staff in front of other patrons. I would first like to say that the service staff was very kind, although disconnected as far as where the individual tables were at in the course of the dinner. Our table alone experienced on the fish service there was no utensils and had to get the attention of one of the service staff to bring us some. After we were finished with the fish they brought our Amuse Bouche again no spoons for the sorbet. It took several minutes to get the attention of a staff member to bring them. As we just started to have the sorbet the meat portion of the service arrived, felt very rushed.

We really enjoy the area and the atmosphere of LON s and have never experienced this poor of service from this highly rated restaurant. We have visited LON s in the past and was a good experience. Complements to the kitchen staff as the menu was unique and very well prepared.

Reservation process: Met expectations
Arrival experience: Exceeded expectations
Food quality: Exceeded expectations
LON s service staff: Needs improvement
Overall experience: Needs improvement

I'm sorry to say I was disappointed. 5 star price for 3-4 star quality. Booked a room with fireplace and the fireplace wasn't working. Had to wait for someone to come fix. Very firm bed, which wouldn't be too bad, except the whole room shook when the AC kicked on and off every 10 minutes. Made it hard to sleep. Could hear the neighbors through the walls too. TV was working when we went to bed but wasn't in the morning. Hot water cut off half way though my husband shower and I hadn't even taken one yet

Also, like most things in Phoenix, they clearly are not prepared for rain. The pathway we took to our room from the front desk was flooded and soaked through our shoes. Beautiful location and room, very friendly helpful staff, just needs some upgrades like the AC and water management.

We had a fabulous staycation here at the Hermosa Inn. It's a very cute little complex of suites. The pool was great, and even offered poolside service for drinks and snacks. The on site hotel had good service although it was lacking in vegetarian options.

We go to Lon's every time we are in Phoenix. I discovered it by accident nearly a decade ago and it has been a favorite for my wife and I. We have yet to have a bad meal of any type and the service is always superb. We recommend Lon's frequently.

Lon's is an amazing spot hidden away so you would never know it was there if someone didn't show it to you. Their Holiday (Thanksgiving) specials are some of the best food I have ever had, the fillet is more amazing than any speciality steakhouse I have ever been too, keep it up everyone and when I move to Phoenix I will be a regular!

It was our anniversary and we wanted a special evening and dinner dinner out. It lived up to my expectations!!! The food and wait staff were FABULOUS !!!!!!
I had the pork belly appetizer, new on their menu: yummy delicous!!! I chose another appetizer for my dinner: Ahi tuna. It's a gererous portion and you cook it on a HOT stone to your specific liking. I highly recommend it for tuna lovers.
My husband ordered the filet mignon which was very flavorful and cooked almost perfectly to medium. The wait staff were very attentive without being bothersome. We chose to sit outside as it was a lovely 80 or so degrees. There are tables for two around the fountain which are very nice. If you have any sight problems be sure to have a small flashlight or app on your phone. Lanterns on the tables don't shed much light. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Warning: Find a different Motel!

Warning: Find a different Motel!

More than happy to leave the manager of this place Mike a review. We are traveling from Seattle and have made a reservation through a mutual trade organization that we are both members of. We made reservations and received numerous verbal confirmations and emailed confirmations for our reservations over the past two weeks.

Now two weeks before our trip and after we have purchased 4 plane tickets and a rental car they called us today to notify us that they would not fulfill our reservation. Mike was smug on the phone and although apologetic he didn't right the wrong that he directed. He personally cancelled the transaction and when we booked we were told they had 11 open reservation. This manager should not be a member of other small business networking groups if he is going to not fulfill another small business owners reservation. He wants to cherry pick on leads provided by other networking groups and then fully book a client and then kick them out when a better offer comes along without deep discounts...etc. He can say whatever he wants about time of year and high season. We received numerous communications and verifications regarding our reservations. Just this morning another person from his (Motel...I say Motel cause he acted like a Motel Manager) called to confirm our reservation then this afternoon we get a call that it is not good. Get organized Mike....you are running the place amuck!

So be afraid to book a room here....he might call right before your trip and tell you he has a better offer. Wait...have someone else call you!

Also see note from other guy that left review: " My opinion is this place is great until you have a problem. They were quick to apologize but didn't do anything about it." Had same experience with Mike..he apologized but didn't do a thing about it! Travelers be wary!

Off to the next bad review to leave on another site.....infinity.
