My mother-in-love recently moved to The Laurels Assisted Living. She raves about the food and activities. The med distribution and Doctors Making Housecalls have relieved her stress tremendously. The staff are top-notch making it easy to make the choice, assessing her needs, getting her signed up, choosing her apartment, and rolled out the red carpet literally and figuratively on moving day. She calls me every night saying I ve had the best day. She loves the staff and her neighbors.

My mother has been in the Laurels for over a year ...

My mother has been in the Laurels for over a year now. We visited many other homes and would not have left her dog there as they were so filthy. Mom was not happy at first because she wanted to be in her home but within a week she told me this was the best thing for her. She has made many friends to talk to and enjoys some of the activities. The employees and volunteers are always welcoming and making sure she is OK. She even is allowed to keep her dog.

The Laurels is a wonderful place! Mom has been well taken care of and ALL of the staff have been super courteous, pleasant, helpful and caring. We couldn t be happier knowing our mom is enjoying her golden years in a clean, updated, well decorated place. This is the best assisted living facility in the Charlotte area. We checked out many places and this is far above the rest. Mom loves it here and has been raving about the dining room experience, she said the food is great . They have many activities for the residents and the personal care is awesome. Kudos to Jessica, Steven, Dawn, Amy, Susanne and all the staff who we ve met. Thank you for providing a great place for our mom!

I am a regular volunteer at The Laurels in Highland Creek and I can say that this is an excellent place to live. The staff is very friendly and the residents really enjoy living here. The nurses really care for the residents and they are so genuine. They always give residents their medications on time. They have wonderful nursing aides that make sure excellent care is delivered. The cafeteria and dining hall is very nice and clean and the food is delicious. The cafeteria manager and cafeteria staff do their job very well and they go above and beyond to make sure the residents are happy and satisfied with the food. The food is always served during every meal by the staff. The facility is very nice and clean because housekeeping does such a great job. Every residents room is cleaned daily and bathrooms are cleaned few times a day. Every resident can enjoy being comfortable in his or her own private bedroom and private bathroom because there are no shared rooms. The management makes it a priority to make sure that the residents are happy and comfortable. The maintenance crew does a wonderful job making sure that repairs are done time and that everything is working well for the residents. This facility is managed very well. I highly recommend The Laurels in Highland Creek for anyone who is in need of assisted living. You will feel right at home.

As a care manager, I am always looking for great communities for our clients when it is time to transition from home to assisted living. Working with the staff & caregivers at The Laurels & The Haven in Highland Creek on behalf of our clients has been a wonderful experience. The staff is quite responsive and they have worked closely with us on several challenging cases that require strong clinical oversight, good communication, and a compassionate team.

I want to thank Mashanda Graham-Patterson and Rosemary Osei-Wusu for providing personalized, compassionate care in a safe environment for, my husband, Charles Tillett. The community reflects a commitment to putting residents first.
The caregivers provide quality care to Charles.
On a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 the lowest and 10 the highest. I rate the job performance of Mashanda and Rosemary a "10."
All the staff members speak, use my name and project a professional image of The Haven due to Mashanda and Rosemarys management.
Thank you, and accept my appreciation for all you do.

Our tour of The Laurels was a wonderful experience. Mom and I were very impressed with the facility, the warm and friendly staff and the comprehensive presentation that was given to us by a very knowledgeable sales counselor, Mr. Steven Poole.

My father is currently a resident at The Haven. I can truly say this place has been a Godsend to us. The staff there deeply care about their clients. My dad has flourished since moving there nine months ago. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking quality care for their family member. These folks demonstrate compassion beyond measure. While no place is perfect, they truly offer a haven of peace and sense is safety to individuals dealing with dementia / Alzheimer's disease and their families.

They failed to give my grandmother her new blood pressure medicine and she ended up in the hospital. If that weren't enough she fell and no one investigated it, and they still owe my grandmother money because the business side is poorly run. The care they provided was no care at all and Grandmother is at a much better facility now.

Very happy with the personnel and their kindness and attention shown to my mother. The staff is attentive to her needs and have helped her to settle into her new routine there. Very kind aides and med-techs, always checking in on my mother to make sure she is well, and getting to know her individual needs. Would recommend The Laurels without hesitation.

Its a home for all seniors, a place where seniors are taken good care of. They go to activities, play with one another, eat good meals and caregivers make sure that they are clean and their needs are met daily. Its a memorable place for seniors and their families.

The Haven has been a wonderful addition to my life...

The Haven has been a wonderful addition to my life and my husband's. He became a resident at this facility March 4, 2013. Hospice has been called three different times. He, currently is not a Hospice patient. I had concerns in the beginning but all were resolved with apologies and promises that changes would be made. All of this came to fruition, much to my delight. It always smells nice and is maintained beautifully. Most recent was an upgrade to each neighborhood......new furniture, new paint, new upgrades to kitchen and dining room had been accomplished. Holidays show special decorations and special activities. One of my favorite praises goes to the placement of all rooms being located in the center of the neighborhood which opens directly to the dining room ,kitchen and television area. No long hallways to get lost in. My husband has no problem enjoying their food......unfortunately, due to the progression of this horrible illness, he had difficulty swallowing. Soft serve foods is now his "normal".....but, he still gobbles it up. On top of all this, I especially love the compassion that the CNA's, Nurses, staff, and Management have shown. They are devoted to their "work". My husband is well cared for and it is a blessing that he is a "resident" here.

We have visited twice to assess suitability for my 93-year old mother. Steven has been an absolute treasure as we have weighed our options. The center is elegant and very clean. The food is prepared by a wonderful chef. There are always people out and about, and the residents and employees all seem happy and relaxed. We were able to interact with residents, and Mother was welcomed with open arms. I knew we had chosen well when Mother immediately took Steven s hand as we walked around. She will be moving in very soon. We feel very fortunate to have found such a warm environment for my mother.

Our loved one has been in memory care for 2 years ...

Our loved one has been in memory care for 2 years there with mid to late stages of early onset ALZ. Their sales people are fantastic and paint a great picture. Facility is nice. Many of the care givers seem sweet and nice. They have had a few Executive Directors and other upper management turn over. I am not sure they are staffed properly for the care they are offering. They have asked me to come and spend two hours in the evenings with my family member because he needed extra care when they were getting people ready for bed. I was unable to do that and they charged me extra for them hiring an extra person for a couple of weeks. It was a significant amount of money. Recently he has become agitated and a bit combative so they send him to the ER alone in an ambulance as a way to diffuse the situation. This week he was sent out for throwing a plate. He was admitted this time since it was the 3rd time and NO ONE let us know. I came for a routine dr s apt visit and he was not there. The ED blamed her staff and the hospital for for not notifying me that he was admitted to the hospital and then said it s just not their policy to make those kinds of phone call. Policy or not, communication and concern are what I am looking for from a facility.

Horrid place! Dad lay on the floor for hours with no one to pick him up until the fire dept came at 3am. He's a new resident and the director won't return my calls since my sister moved him in there ~circumventing his arrangement to return home to GA. (Cecilia H. Browne double-crossing CPA) Our dad is in his right mind with limited mobility but The Laurels is acting as co conspirator to hold him hostage! Cecilia Browne is not his guardian. The facility had him confined to his room the first week saying all residents were confined due to flu(?) and they've changed his phone twice so friends and family selected by the evil daughter cannot call in. Director Michelle, I dare you to call me!
Buyer beware ~ this place is brutal.
(Cecila flew to Tampa inlaws leaving dad alone thanksgiving...could have had him accompany on the plane so as to visit me in St Petersburg) sick sister sick facility
