Our loved one has been in memory care for 2 years ...

Our loved one has been in memory care for 2 years there with mid to late stages of early onset ALZ. Their sales people are fantastic and paint a great picture. Facility is nice. Many of the care givers seem sweet and nice. They have had a few Executive Directors and other upper management turn over. I am not sure they are staffed properly for the care they are offering. They have asked me to come and spend two hours in the evenings with my family member because he needed extra care when they were getting people ready for bed. I was unable to do that and they charged me extra for them hiring an extra person for a couple of weeks. It was a significant amount of money. Recently he has become agitated and a bit combative so they send him to the ER alone in an ambulance as a way to diffuse the situation. This week he was sent out for throwing a plate. He was admitted this time since it was the 3rd time and NO ONE let us know. I came for a routine dr s apt visit and he was not there. The ED blamed her staff and the hospital for for not notifying me that he was admitted to the hospital and then said it s just not their policy to make those kinds of phone call. Policy or not, communication and concern are what I am looking for from a facility.
