Drinks are great, it would nice if they had some healthier options for food.

Best burger I have had in YEARS! The gull burger did not disappoint !

This place is a must do. Small but delish menu. The service and bartender's are fabulous.

5 of us ate here, and all 5 of us had the fish and chips. Hands down the best fish and chips we had in Vancouver, in a small, divey setting. Great local joint.

Upscale gastropub. Good food, well prepared. A nice selection of local craft beer. Service staff was attentive and helpful.

I was up to catch the cabin and go to the upper level parking after a full day skiing, but saw that lovey bigger fire in the patio and so change of plan and went yobthis bar and had 2 beers and a lovely burger next to that fire with hospitality of this lovely waitress! It was good finish for a Sunday skiing, Good luck!

Easily one of the best burgers in town and that Pork Belly BLT is ridiculous! Beer and cocktail list is really well done, these guys did a great job on the menu.
Glad to have another good independent pub option in North Van.

Loved this place. From the moment you step in you are welcome. Drinks were hand crafted by attentive bar tenders, nothing out of a cookie cutter here. The food was a delight to look at and to eat! Vegan and meat eaters delight. Can t wait to be back in town to relive the experience.

I am so stoked to have a restaurant / bar like The Gull in North Van. The food is quality, locally sourced and organic when possible. They have an unreal cocktail and beer list. They also have the best happy hour and brunch in North Van. AND the best service! Love this place.

Spent an enjoyable Friday evening last night on the patio with a selection of drinks complimented by some tasty burgers.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. They've only been open for a few weeks, but word seems to have spread - luckily, there is lots of room.

What a wonderful surprise. The best brunch we've had in years. The dinner menu looks amazing. Can't wait to come back . Bonus was the place looks so adorable and the service couldn't have been better Great prices too.

Stopped in for a burger and ended up cabing home. Burger was awesome, crowd was super cool, 10 points to Martin for epic bar tending and making sure I got my cab!

Used to be the Rusty Gull, where Jim Cuddy, of Blue Rodeo fame, played from time to time. The new Gull has great food, an expansive bar and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not to be missed if you're visiting Lolo.

The Gull Burger has to be my favorite burger on the North Shore. They also have a different daily special appetizer that we have enjoyed both times we have visited.

Beautifully renovated. I was soo excited when I came in. But the menu isn't appealing. Maybe I would try something like asparagus or the salmon thing if the plates they were bringing out weren't so small or weren't horribly over priced.

Also there are still many customers that used to be regulars, and are rude loud and vulgar. It was fine at the Rusty Gull, and we wouldn't go too late at night or on the weekend and be unbothered.

Excuse me but If you see contractors dressed like they just came from a 10 hour shift and are yelling at the top of their lungs and trying to engage with a well dressed couple who are minding their own business you should do something as the manager and not let them keep ordering shots.

Can shake of the rust but the crabs will come back lol.

this place is amazing !! My office did a 25+ person function and everyone was very impressed. Sampled everything on the menu, ever dish was a hit. If you haven t been .. drop everything and go, NOW !!

Love the new look! The bar and chalk drawings on the wall give it such a cool new feel. Beer selection was alright, menu is lacking. Not really a place where a couple can go for dinner unless you want to spend $200. Everything is served apply style and meant for sharing which is all starting at $14 a plate. We didn t stay for dinner, ended up having a few cocktails and heading down the street for a bite, but cocktails and service did not disappoint!

We planned a 60th surprise birthday gathering at the Gull last night and the staff at the Gull did an over the top job looking after us. The manager Phil, along with the amazing servers Jen and Sam were so wonderful. The drinks were right there when we wanted them, along with the appetizers and delicious dinner. What a perfect venue. I highly recommend the The Gull bar & kitchen for a casual lunch or dinner, or to host a larger party for an event. Just AWESOME!!!

I live less than a 5 minute walk away from the Gull, yet I didn't know it was there. We found it for a late brunch the other day. And what a nice surprise it was! The service was super friendly and efficient. The food was fabulous with eggs done to perfection. Can't wait to try this little gem of a place for a late afternoon, early evening bite to eat and drinks.

Phil and his team knocked my 40th birthday brunch out of the park with everything I wanted - great service, great food, and a cool atmosphere for chatting and a few kids running around. Definitely made lots of fans of the burger and will be back in the evening to try more cocktails! Thank you!

The Gull in Lower Lonsdale underwent a major re-do in June 2018. Renovation, management, staff, kitchen crew & menu. Everything.

The Gull is run by a young local North Van gent who has years of experience at Vancouver s top rated Blue Water Cafe . This is not the Blue Water nor is it the Rusty Gull of days gone by. This is The Gull, casual, friendly & delicious.

With a focus on local craft beers, BC wines, local farms & suppliers for food ingredients, this is a place to go if you want to enjoy yummy casual eats with locally sourced ingredients. The menu has many classics that all seem to feature a unique twist. Unique enough to keep you coming back, yet not too unique which if done wrong, can be simply weird.

The place itself is clean & modern with a nod to the nautical theme of the nearby shipyards.

Our food was terrific. My wife said her burger was among the best ever .

If you are a local wanting some good eats n drinks or a visitor looking for a non-franchise high quality North Van BC experience, visit The Gull.

The BEST burger in BC! Beef is ground on site so you get medium rare juicyness! This is the best casual dining on Lolo and our new local. Admittedly the standard is very low with the blandness of the "McDonalds" style operations of Tap & Barrel, Browns etc.
Internationally I would give it 4 stars - ditch the TV's, add more craft beers, have more international wines (great to see they have a cremant BTW and not just Prosecco's), work on the dinner menu some more (tapas style is fine)... but hey we are talking about North Vancouver, so it deserves 5 stars!

The food and the service is excellent but the volume is not conducive to having a conversation with your companion. YMMV

Great burgers (the In-n-Out tribute is spot on), rotating local taps, good Happy hour specials and friendly staff.

First visit since the renovation. We were seated in the front section, which felt more like a waiting area than a seat in a bar. Bit of an odd layout now.

Food is excellent though menu is unconventional. Many of this dishes are intended for sharing. So if that's your thing then there is some excellent food. As for the few individual meals on the menu, I can say that the club sandwich was outstanding.

Yet another place where you can t get service if you sit at the bar. A poor selection of hipster fruity-ale offerings and very few over-priced menu items. It s yet another example of a loud open-concept warehouse-like room with little character.

It's okay but I really miss the Rusty Gull. I miss going there and seeing Mostly Marley. I hate that everything is changing some things should just be left alone. Now that two lions is closed there's nowhere to go to hear live music..

The Gull has the best burger in the city hands down. Get an animal style burger and you will not be disappointed. The Staff is very friendly the beers are cold. My wife and I love the Gull and bring friends often. We all return weekly. The burgers are our go to but all the food is deadly. Hit these guys up and don t forget to buy the kitchen a round it s on the menu!

One of the top 5 burgers I've had anywhere in my life. I ordered one with a friend to share and it was so good we immediately ordered another.

My husband and I had lunch last week . We had a Buddha bowl and chicken club sandwich.The food was exceptional and very fresh, with friendly and efficient staff .We will definitely return.

This place used to have metric tons of character, and the best, most delicious and biggest nachos in town. While it was a little dark, I loved how you could tell this was a seaside pub from every inch of its facade.
Now, gentrification has made it bland, way too open and its menu is boring and expensive. Maybe perfect for the Vancouver hipster or rich tourist, but I won't be coming back.

This place is an all-new renovation of the old "The Rusty Gull". The food is great and the staff is friendly.

Nice and cozy place with delicious burgers...although a bit on a small/expensive side.

The meal was alright, but we found both the meal quality and portion sizes incongruent with the price. Also, with polished concrete floors, hard and tiled walls, the noise tends to echo in the absence of anything to dampen it, resulting in a very loud environment.

The Gull has undergone a lovely renovation with interesting touches of the local history through large-sized art. A round table by the sunny window sat our group of 6 easily. I loved the Buddah Bowl which was very filling and delicious. Augmented with a communal bowl of triple fried fries and I was in heaven! Great beer selection and service, too. Well done!

Great atmosphere and received very friendly, prompt service! The food was very tasty; only issue is that the portions are quite small for the price.

Id have to say my experience here hasnt been the greatest. Our service was slow and our waitress was quite rude.
My company and I did enjoy ourselves either way. Just didnt make us feel welcome. Will definitely be telling others. I do not recommend this place.

This is a nice bar. Trendy, industrial aesthetic with candles on tables after dark. Music was pleasant and kept at a reasonable volume. There were two obtrusive tv's showing the hockey game. There are group tables available. Decent and varied drink selection including cocktails and rotating taps. The menu is designed for group orders but there are a couple items meant for individual diners. We had their "rotating bite", which was a honey glazed pork belly, as an appy. Super good. We had their gull burger for the entre. The burgers are made from fresh ground steak and cooked medium rare. I would recommend the burger for sure. You aren't going to get a better burger for $19 in this town. Check it out if you are in the neighbourhood.

Great local spot. Love their beer selection and tasty food. Really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich, but my husband's omlette was tiny! Lovely staff, too.

I would give this place a 5 for drinks and ambiance. I have a blast every time I come here and staff are awesome and super friendly!

My 2 stars goes to the food. Expensive and pretentious for the potential of this place. The Gull could be THE BAR in NV but because of the food we don t choose this place that often.

Lastly, vegetarian or vegan option (as a meal) is a must have. It s 2019!

We went on a Saturday and got the Brunch menu. A small selection of wonderful sounding choices. We had a brie cheeseburger with carmelized onions that was perfectly cooked and came with crispy salty fries. And a pork belly hash. Wow. It was so good. Crispy potato cakes with pork belly, mushrooms , hollandaise and perfectly poached eggs. Delicious!

What a gem! Sometimes we joke about moving to North Van to be closer to this place. Absolutely incredible food, always with something new and creative on the menu. I like the cauliflower steak and anything on the brunch menu . Dangerously good cocktails too!

You would be hard pressed to find better burgers in Vancouver. Great specials with an upscale feel and fair pricing. Their mushroom pasta is delicious!

I remember this place as the Rusty Gull, so I might be a bit biased to the old place.

The place is super modern looking, with a good selection of beers, cocktails and a couple of wines. The food is a bit lacking honestly. Generally it's a good place to hang out and get a pint or two after work.

Keep up with a bit more food and it's a solid 5 stars.
