No complaints. I reached out to a couple companies for quoting on a 14kw system. I chose these guys because the staff are true employees, as opposed to contractors. Tara did great with the initial info and I had a follow up conversation with Adam, the owner. Both had lots of info to provide. The whole install took about 2 1/2 months from quote to final Consumers Energy approvals for interconnection and that included the Christmas holiday. I can see how some people complain about the length of install, but if you know this going into the project, you just need to have patience. I primarily communicated with Mark during the installation and commissioning phases. I saw a review that complained about his personality. He's all business and I'm not looking for hugs, anyway. He seems to know what he's doing and he always responded quickly to my texts, so nothing to complain about from my point of view. Start to finish, I'm satisfied and would recommend them to anyone.

The Green Panel was good to work with and I'd certainly recommend them. Mark Cryderman was my sales contact and was especially patient and helpful throughout the project planning.

Initially I wanted panels on my roof, but it's angled the wrong way. Then I considered ground-mounted panels that are essentially a few feet off the grass, but my wife vetoed that idea. In the end we contracted the construction of a pergola-style wooden structure in our yard that's the right dimensions to hold 7.2kW worth of panels (24 panels at 300 watts each). Once that was built The Green Panel came out and installed the panels, trenched to the house and ran the DC electrical wiring into the basement where they had mounted the DC-AC inverter, and tied that into my electrical panel. The work was all done just as I had requested, and I'm pleased with the project. In all it wasn't particularly expensive. Even though I had them do the trenching, bought an oversized inverter for future growth, and had them run an electrical circuit/outlet out to the pergola, the entire cost after the federal tax credit was about $14,500. With a 10-year loan through the Michigan Saves program, my payment is roughly what my electricity bill formerly was, so now I have the solar setup I wanted and it feels nearly free. In ten years the electricity it makes will truly BE free, and with a 25-year warranty, I'm confident this was a good move.

The Green Panel planned and installed a 7kW system for my mixed use residential/commercial space, and they did quite a bit of additional electrical work to accommodate the new use of the space. Interactions with everyone from the Green Panel were excellent all the way through, and work was executed very well and in a timely fashion. I highly recommend The Green Panel if you are considering going solar (and if you have the roof for it, you should consider going solar!).

I loved working with Tara H. She was quick to respond and to help me work out the details on the final part of install. Installation was quick and they handled everything with the permits. I highly recommend them for your solar needs.

When I made the decision to go solar I was dreading the thought of working with a contractor. After getting 3 quotes The Green Panel made picking out the winner easy. They beat the other 2 companies in every category. The other companies made me feel like one number, in a very thick book. Then they ripped my face off with the price tag.

The Green Panel handled every part, building permits, power company permits, paper work, installation, everything! On Time! For the exact price quoted!

Don't take my word for it though. Call them today. I'm pretty sure you will be sorry if you don't.

Technical sales team was a complete joke. They wasted 2 months of mine and their own time trying to get a layout plan, quote and install scheduled only to have them back out with some lame excuse about being too busy. Overall lack of professionalism and clearly not interested in providing good customer service. Where are all the good solar power companies in Michigan?

Tara at The Green Panel came out in person to provide a quote and answer all of my technical questions. I could tell they are one of the few places that really knows what they'er doing with panels and batter backup installs. I received many good options and recommend them to folks looking to go solar.

Very nice people, but also VERY expensive. The part that bothered me the most however, is when I had some questions about my array, they said they would get back to me, but never did. When i called again, same story. I guess once they made their money, responding to me was not important.

This company is awesome! From initial visit to install. There was none of the sales pressure I ve experienced with other companies. A clear price breakdown was provided and time given to review and find the best financing.
The crew who installed my system was amazing! They worked hard all day, were polite and engaging, cleaned up after themselves and went the extra mile waiting until well after 5 pm for my utility company to arrive and make repairs.
I would differently recommend The Green Panel Company to anyone who wants to add solar.

I purchased a 6.6kwh grid-tied solar panel system from The Green Panel. I had researched PV systems for some time and decided that this was the time to make the leap. I had gotten quotes from 5 companies and felt that The Green Panel s price was right and the customer service was great.

There are a lot of nuances with going solar so I d recommend asking lots of questions- everybody I encountered along the process at The Green Panel we re both friendly and knowledgeable (if only I could say the same about the folks over at DTE!)

If you are thinking of going solar, I d highly recommend giving The Green Panel a call.

Over Commitment with Apparent Lack of Expertise.

Over Commitment with Apparent Lack of Expertise.

I purchased a Tiny House in June 2017 and approached The Green Panel to install solar panels, an inverter, and battery for an off grid application. It seemed at the outset that they were ready and willing to help me but the process took several months before anything was installed (let alone functional). I feel there was a gross over commitment on their part with the effect that I was tied to them by the hip. I was not a regular customer with a grid connection - I was forced to live in State Parks because of my dependence on a grid connection for electricity.

Their "Master Electrician" advised me that I could purchase two used batteries I found on ebay and that he would hook them up for me (seemingly in compensation for his multi-month bungling of the system install). He was fully aware that they were of a different size than the ones he had already installed. Well it turns out that it is a fundamental fact of battery configuration that you can't hook up dissimilar batteries in parallel strings together. So I am left with two batteries that can't be hooked up to my system ($1500 cost).

Coupled with a multitude of mistakes that occurred during the installation and the apparent ignorance of battery systems, I really have to question the "Master Electrician" status. I've commissioned variable frequency drives myself in the automotive sector and I feel like I could have done the installation myself with the same level of competence the Green Panel displayed with less headache.

I paid the overwhelming majority of the system cost (~$20k) even before the system was completely finalized. I refused to pay the final balance (~$1500) until they generated a solution for the additional batteries I purchased. While I feel I was on firm legal footing, I chose to pay the balance when they engaged a claim in small claims Court for the balance outstanding.

Near the end of the installation the Master Electrician informed me that the warrantee would not cover the solar panels if my Tiny House were moved.

I am left flabbergasted.

I would suggest not using this installer.

Had quite the experience with getting my panels installed two years ago, and probably wouldn't have been back if not for the tesla powerwall. But now two years later I've gotten the tesla powerwall installed crazy fast from initial call with Evan who was great to work with and showed how much the Greenpanel cared about making sure everything was done properly. Calvin and Joe were great installers and got everything looking very clean and organized. Got the power wall up and running in one day and went above and beyond diagnosing an electrical problem with my fridge breaker and running new lines from the solar shutoff because they were too short instead of just junction boxing them. All in all I'd go back to add more panels in the future.

Installed a 10.5KW system, The Green Panel did an outstanding job from start to finish. They kept me informed of all the 'DTE' processes that appear to be delays but are just bureaucratic hurdles designed by DTE to slow the process. Would recommend both going solar and using The Green Panel!

Mark Cryderman and his team did an excellent job installing our 9 panels. We had some tricky issues with a high rooftop and a 1924 home in Plymouth. We felt that Mark and his team enjoyed the challenge! I highly recommend The Green Panel for your solar needs!

Extremely happy with the system that these folks designed and installed at our house. There were some minor timing issues with the local inspectors when getting approvals, but other than that they took care of all permitting and coordination with Consumers Power. Their installation crew was professional and we were impressed with how quick the actual install went. They quoted us American made panels (Mission Solar) and the system has performed at their quoted output. Our only disappointment was that we didn t install solar sooner.

They also potenially saved me thousands of dollars in water damage by finding and repairing a cracked vent pipe on my roof. I highly recommend this company for its quality products, excellent customer service and attanetion to detail.

I had panels installed about a year ago. They have produced about 80% of what they had promised. It will take about 16 years to get my money back on the investment unlike the 7 years they estimated. I had one panel damaged. They offered to repair it at a sky high price. I know an electrician that will replace it at 25% of the price they quoted me.
