Popped in on Monday to have lunch. Wasn t busy (at least not outside) but the host couldn t show more how less she cared about customers. She said I need to order from app or wait for the waitress to come. Waited. Nothing happened. Went to ask what was the app I needed to download. Downloaded. Couldn t figure out how to place an order. Told the host I m thinking to give up. She said Okay . I walked out and found another place to have lunch instead.

Man oh man where to start. I ve been a casual drinker here for a few years, nothing exciting about the place minus is being huge, usually with ample seating. Drinks are about the same price as everywhere else in the area. Tried the roast a few weeks ago, awful offerings. Dried out and overcooked yorkie, leathery potatoes and to top it all off, a piece of pork that was more fat and gristle than meat. It was swiftly replaced for chicken, but it was still pretty mediocre for the price. Decided to give the food another go yesterday. Sausage and mash, you can t go wrong with that.... apparently you can! Luke warm, dry and flavourless mash with sausages no better, and some random rubbery unseasoned cabbage. I gave up and left. Won t bother returning. Far better offerings in other pubs.

It's a lot of moolah for what was only a pretty good roast. Which took a while to get to us and might have been closer to tepid than piping. They did keep bringing me little jars of horseradish sauce. Which has earned them an extra star.

Poor food; over priced for what was produced which didn t match what described in the menu; ordered cottage pie and was served served a steak pie... roughly like a Greg s pie but for 14 quid. Long wait at the bar for service; staff clearly under pressure. Not recommended.

This place is usually packed, but I wouldn't say it's because the beer is on point. The selection is quite small considering the location and potential. Makes for a lively night out any day of the week, but it is expensive for what you get.

First time I visited this pub two years ago I was amazed by the food, even if it was a bit expensive it was worth it. After a long time I decided to bring my team there for a leaving party and I found a different environment, quite messy and confusing. The guy at the counter was a bit rude because I ordered a Peroni beer but I didn't know that they had Moretti instead of Peroni. He looked at me laughing like I ordered something really weird and this was pretty offensive and rude. I work in the customer service and obviously I know that there's no need to embarrass a customer! The courtyard is chaotic and loud, tables are most of the time dirty.

Good bar, nice helpful staff. Food...much to be answered for. We ordered the Ploughman s sharing platter and a mac & cheese. To be honest I could of had a better snack in an out of date co-op lunch isle. The Scotch egg was as enticing as the back of an old freezer. The pork pie felt like it it was worth 20p and was cold and the cheese was as dry as the desert. Oooo god the Mac & Cheese was an abomination. I ve eaten burnt toast that had more flavour that that!!

The staff are a joke at this place. Clearly in need of a good manager to run thr bar.

Food is less than average. When asking some questions about the food the staff seemed clueless with a blank I don t know response .

Lots of better alternatives in Putney.

Big beer garden to front of pub - perfect for catching up with friends and outside heaters too - perfect for when the British weather changes. Great bar staff that frequently checked on us and asked if we were okay for drinks/food etc.

The Coat & Badge is a friendly pub based in Putney, just off the high street. You enter via the front garden which has a nicely laid patio with tables and chairs. Inside is a bar (as you d expect). There are tables for eating/drinking all round the pub. If you re into sports events, there are big screen TV s on the wall; they also use these to televise other events like new years.

I have visited on a number of occasions ranging from week night after-work-drinks with friends, Sunday lunches and new years.

If you re around the area and want to catch up with friends over drinks/dinner; I can recommend The Coat & Badge. I recommend the food, especially the Sunday Roasts. The bar snacks are also very good; Try the honey glazed almond nuts. Not to mention the beer - locally made Young s is on offer; One of my favourites.

My mum and I had the nicest afternoon here yesterday. We popped in originally to watch the end of the Murray tennis match in their lovely beer garden. We ended up staying for food and to watch both the Federer and Nadal games. Food was great - in particular the fish and chips - the fish was amazing. Mainly though the experience was so good because of the service. The two bar men were really lovely - helpful, funny and efficient. This pub has now topped by list of favourite places.

This pub located close to Putney Bridge is absolutely a must in the area. Its good size guarantees a good capacity, both in and outside. Music might be too loud if you intend to chat, but this hasn't to be considered necessarily as something negative. The environment is friendly and quite young. Coat and Badge is capable of attracting a broad clientele, with young and less young people and this says it all!

Sunny Sunday lunch time-tables outside were clammy and full of dirty dishes from previous customers.Slow unprofessional service at the bar. Staff seemed to hate the place as much as its customers.Overall, a smelly (old fish) place. Avoid if you don't want to get sick.

After discovering this lovely pub on a previous walk we returned here after a recent outing for food. Paying in the regions of gastro pub prices we ordered a roast beef and a vegetarian salad to famish our raging appetites. What was then produced was a disappointment at best. The quinoa salad was a rocket leaves mixed with a sliced browning avocado, then to dress this awkward pairing a vinaigrette was made which can only be described as the perverse love child of Mary rose sauce, oil and also into which a tin of smoked paprika had fallen into or added for good measure.

Stopped for a bite to eat from a long drive on a Sunday night. Wasn't expecting much but oh man did it let us down. Crab cakes tasted like a standard frozen fish cake from the supermarket and the fries were the blandest I've ever tasted. My husband's vegetarian Wellington looked like it would be nice but when it came it was super dry and unexciting. Most things would taste delicious if you're hungry and they're hot but not at this place.
