Stopped at the Generals Arms as part of a Boreham / Little Baddow hike with family member, Ken. Friendly atmosphere and really helpful. Enjoyed the 2 pints as well! (with the Covid-19 precautions all in place)
Been here before for food and enjoyed that experience. Definitely recommended based on my experiences so far. Thank-you to the landlord and staff.

This is a well run pub. The staff are friendly and helpful and they take a very pragmatic approach in these Covid times. Everything was clean and orderly and the food was good old pub grub cooked really well. We're certainly going back.

A very nice pub with a beautiful beer garden. Good selection of drinks, although not cheap. Plenty of parking.

The food looked very good but I didn't try it. Will be going back to put that right.

Sorry to say that the food was awful, such a shame as a lovely setting with real potential but as it stands I would advise people to avoid.

We rang in advance to check they were serving food, and the menu looked promising online. We ordered two 'General Burgers' and a childs 'Macaroni Cheese'.

The burgers came up with no salad or cheese in the bun (despite this being in the description on the menu) and the burger meat was not very nice - tasted cheap. When we questioned the lack of cheese/salad we were provided with some grated cheese and a side salad, again not really as described on the menu.
