The Garden Deli Review

I wish I could give 0 stars. Terrible!! I went in there for a bite to eat and the owners and others were not even wearing a mask, how horrible. I just wanting to get my food then leave. The tall red haired girl was being so rude to one of the other employee. I had to stand there for a little while waiting for her to take my order. She was on her phone. And the girl with short black hair was making fun of how much this one person ordered. The tables were so dirty and food was over priced. Don t waste ur time or money there. This place does not deserve your money.

I've said it before and I'll say it again they have great food and great staff. Oh and the ice cream is amazing.

Great atmosphere and wonderful service. They can make nearly any sandwhich and that is awesome! Their food always tastes so fresh! A little pricey, but so worth it! Their ice cream is also good! Friendly, family oriented environment with great customer service skills!

Service is okay but pales in comparison to the Freeport Garden Deli! We are having to wait a very long time for two sandwiches...but we are the only two customers here with five people working behind the counter...

Was there just last Friday, great place, and the owner and staff are pretty awesome!

You can't go wrong with any of the deli's soups, salads, sandwiches or baked potato combos. Ice cream treats available as well.

New to this restaurant. I was informed high quality soup. It wasn't "homemade ". Heinzes "high quality". We could not carry it to our table as it was "hot". Luke warm and horrible. You clear your own dishes and know one comes to check on your food. We will not be back again!

I've been out of state for nearly a decade...and the turkey and cheddar tastes just like I remember.

Simply terrible. Took 3 hours to deliver a sandwich and a drink.

They have the best potatoes of the month. Just ask for the P.O.M.

Used to love their egg salad sandwiches a lil pricy for what it is bit WAS good but last 2 times i got it was bad... first time had egg shells in it which made it unbearable to eat second time bread was dryer than a stale saltene cracker. Probably wont be back

The Work of Art (with no bread) is absolutely amazing!

Great little sandwich shop. Would definitely recommend the ice cream and soup as well. Usually almost overstaffed and you will have your food immediately.

Always yummy, always friendly! We love the Garden Deli! They offer something for everyone. Sandwiches, baked potatoes, gluten free options, and of course Chocolate Shoppe ice cream! You can't go wrong at The Deli!

They take ZERO COVID PRECAUTIONS here. Even if there wasn't a pandemic, I'd be a little hesitant about anyone making my food without gloves or hairnets, but they refused to put on masks when I asked. I had to walk out without my food.

Awesome place for soups sandwiches and baked potatoes (try one, they are easily a meal on their own!) The ice cream is pretty good too!

The employees weren't taking safety precautions in response to the pandemic. The tables were dirty, the person that made my food didn't wash their hands or wear gloves. Overall the experience was gross and I ended up having a hair in my food.

Best food ever and they deliver since I have tryed it .. hard to to go back to it .. it's awesome mmm. Fast forward Everytime I order from this place I get attitude and can't take directions either. Won't go back lost me for good

Just have to love a locally owned deli!! Sandwiches, Soups, Salads, IceCream, potato salad!! It's a great place for lunch or dinner!! Or just a IceCream treat!!

The owner and management team have such little respect for both their customers and employees, its shocking.

Several times I have seen employees not wearing gloves or not putting their hair back when preparing food. They show little care for the safety of customers, not to mention almost no one wears a mask.

The owner and managers treat the rest of the staff very poorly and too often in front of customers. The owner especially is disrespectful of his employees. In the past few years, I have known several people that have all quit because of the way he treats the people that work for him. Its sad to see a grown man feel the need to make young teenagers feel bad about themselves on a daily basis. Extremely unprofessional!

The overpriced and mediocre food is not worth purchasing when it goes to support a business that treats the very people it depends on so poorly. I will not be giving them any of my business and will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

We went there on Friday for the first time. The restraunt was clean and three of the employees were fairly friendly. The fourth was not (wearing a purple shirt). She brought out our sandwiches and one was made incorrectly...when I told her she got a snotty tone with me. My chicken soup came way after our other food and was ice cold. My kids never got the water they ordered. And to top it off...why we won't eat there ever again...rhe girl in the purple shirt....took her out of her hair and was playing with her hair behind the counter and never washed her hands and then served a customer food.

Made my first stop here and was super pleased. Like the simple atmosphere with the old display cases. Had a very good hard salami sandwich for a good price. Nice selection of sandwiches and potato meals (taco potato was the special), prepared salads, plus ice cream and other dessert options. Service with a smile and fast too. No more Subway for me!

*UPDATE* I've been back for a couple more sandwiches and remain pleased with each visit.

They're food is pretty amazing, and the atmosphere is plesant. I highly recommend them.

I went in there on Wednesday to get a baked potato(horrible btw) they messed up my order 2 times . The girl with red hair was yelling at others super loudly and disturbing my meal. I really wanted to hurry up and get out of there. I told them no cheese and they seemed to not even care and put cheese on my potato (I m lactose intolerant) I had to have them remake it 2 times. To make things even worse a lot of employees weren t wearing masks. It s something so simple to do. I wish they cared more about there customers safety)

Great soup, sandwich and baked potato deli. Great variety. Good food. Will be back for sure. And did I mention they have icecreams too?

Excellent service, selection and atmosphere! My pastrami wrap was excellent, as was the chicken and rice soup. I'll be back... again!
