The Garage Highbury Review

So I bought my tickets and checked the website on the day of the gig - doors at 7 and curfew 10.30 - brilliant - I could use public transport and enjoy a few drinks. Got there and not so, even with the website still saying the same, the signs on the door were that the main band were coming on stage at 10.15pm ... so I only got to see the first half hour before having to leave. If they had said before I'd have driven, not had a drink and seen the whole gig. Add to that next to no ventilation and a partially blocked fire door and this became a night where the venue didnt live up to the other reviews published here

The sound system could be improved but otherwise I've seen a lot of cool gigs there.

Went to Depeche Mode after-party, it's a great venue, big space, and bar, but no seating area, wanted to rest a little after long standing at the gig. Sound system was good.

Saw jambinai. Band was great and venue is nice size and easy to see stage

Sound was not brilliant - loud yes, but distorting. Given this is a *music* venue that to me was a very bad point. Otherwise it's. very convenient for the tube station, nice space and not excessively hot inside. Good views of the bands.

Just a bit too loud you end up with noisy ears but fun...

Sick place, small venue, never packed in like sardines tho

Good location, close to the subway station. A climate club. We were at a concert and indeed this place is just to create an amazing atmosphere of music played

Short selection of drinks in this popular venue. Most of the british famous bands have played in here so the tickets are very expensive.

Nice venue, decent staff and security, good club nights here.

Decent sound, good bar. Toilets are disgusting though

Live music venue just opposite Highbury & Islington station, varying genres and newly refurbished

I left my tickets for a show here unhelpfully stuck to my fridge. The manager was extremely understanding and made sure that I was allowed in despite doubtlessly being extremely busy (it was a sold out show). The sound was good, visibility was decent, and the bar was well-staffed and not exceptionally pricy, with a very good drinks selection. The outside smoking area is small and crowded but that s not unusual.

Great rock venue. Dark, loud, not too slick, the right amount of grimey. Ridiculously warm, beer is a bit steep.

Went for Animals as Leaders and I'm very disappointed. The sound quality was horrible. Another venue I'm happy to never go again. All the staff were really nice.

I've been here a few times for gigs. I love it here. Security and staff are very good. It easy to find and I've enjoyed my night here.

Safe place. Lots of space around the stage. Good thing one can put a glass on the sound booth in the middle of the room while leaning against it. Staff were fairly nice. It would have been good if one could buy snacks at the bar.

Dune rats made me experience a new spiritual dimension here

Great size venue and nice layout with a raised back area.
Major complaint would be that they service 2pint cups of beer which means you wait forever to get served.

If you are a lover, be the music do not forget to visit

Really cool venue that's quite small if you like a closer experience. Door staff were very friendly and expensive drinks as standard.

Last year I've to see KSI LIVE AT THE Garage and I've got VIP tickets with my dad and KSI concert was amazing at all times love all of the musics and meeting jj KSI at the garage last year on 2016 8 November

Felt very studenty although there was a surprisingly good beer selection on tap.

Excellent music venue with staff that care. since buying my tickets i broke my ankle upon arrival the security staff asked if i would like a stool......excellent customer service.

Very good venue to see bands somewhat intimately. It has a capacity of a few hundred people with the standing area in front of the stage being lower than the bar / viewing area in the rear of the room. The drinks are as you would expect for a London venue, quite pricey, but the staff serve pretty quickly and are friendly enough. It does get very hot inside when the bands play, so I would recommend wearing a t-shirt!

Good venue for live gigs. Very close to Highbury Corner station.

Decent venue. Staff were friendly and very hospitable. Security was very nice. Venue was huge downstairs... nice place. Would rent it out for an event of my own upon evaluating pricing. I liked the event there. Toilets were kept clean even during huge event.. well, as clean as could be. Stage was huge... could have a nice performance there.

Great mid sized venue in North London. Always plenty of bar staff on so never a long wait for a drink. Amazing PA system for live bands always top notch sound.

Even though outside was chill, inside was very hot. Bad ventilation system.

Had to give it one star for this venue as the staff were ok. Toilets were filthy looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks

Went to see Rina Sawayama which was an amazing performance great location for a great night. The staff were nice and helpful! Great place would deffo go again for another performance!

Went for the Ska night... bands were fantastic..bouncers were so friendly and really joked around with you (couldnt fault them. Not not enough bar staff and toilets had flooded out into the fancefloor ..anyone know a good plumber lol.
