Go there without hesitation. Great choice of beer and nice quick small dish. Industrial atmosphere very well done and sofa upstairs. We had Cuban rhythm with percussion and singing that day it was excellent. The young staff was very friendly. Perfect for the whole family before entering the streets of Camden market. Little more for hot chocolate jagermeister. Ettonant at first glance but delicious !!!

What a dreadful place. I was forced to come here for a friends gig. Watered down drinks, rude service (especially the woman with long black ponytail) who screamed at my girlfriends face, and terrible music. One of the worst places I've been to in London. The only reason they still have business is because they have a good location. Not a good sign if you have to water down drinks...
Had a fantastic time last night at the soul town night the music was spot on with a great party vibe the staff were friendly and the entertainment was brilliant.Only down fall was that the drink was very expensive.
Fantastic to be in a club with so much history... you can feel the energy of ghosts of musicians past. Truly a great experience. Great acoustics and a friendly staff as well!
Generic Camden gig venue. Went for London Burlesque Festival, Jazz & Gin night, they didn't specialise in gin at the bar at all that night & no live music either. However, that was probably more my issue with event organisers than the venue itself. I'm sure it's fine for gigs. Seemed to have a decent lay out & friendly staff.
We came for a friend's gig - they made us all arrive at 6:30 and then find you out when you get there the actual times for each band. This obviously caused a huge queue at 6:30.
Well once you're in, you cannot renter and there was about 7 chairs in total so you're forced to stand for hours watching bands you didn't want to see. Whole thing was delayed by about half an hour too due to issues with equipment.
Drinks were tiny and there are attendants in the loos demanding tips from you, even if you don't take a thing off them. I've paid to see the band, paid for my drinks, I do not need to pay to use the toilet.
Prices are good here especially if you go during their happy hour, open mic night used to be great but haven't been in a while. The seating is good especially if you get a table upstairs- you can have a group conversation here. The staff used to always get the drinks wrong and my friend got an off pint once but everything else good!
This was my first visit, luckily tickets from a friend, to see Catfish and the Bottlemen, there were a couple of supporting bands which were OK but the main band were awesome, never seen them before but the sound in the venue was very good. It's a fairly small place and it did get busy and very hot as there is no A/C. It was a fight (not literally) to get to the both the bar and toilets, although there was a lovely breeze along the toilet walkway, but still a battle even along there. The bar prices are good for the area and re staff, although busy, were pleasant.
Seen a couple of bands here. Nice venue, although on both occasions they've not had Camden Hells or Pale Ale on tap, plenty more beers available though
Door staff are rude an unhelpful. Lack common sense. Bar staff were very nice and friendly but slow. Still using disposable plastic cups in this day and age. I was there early on a weekday and toilets were bad before anyone actually used More
Great place. Everyone loves coming here don't they? Can take a while to get served before the acts start but that's pretty standard for any music venue.
Expensive but the location within Camden Market is privileged, 6 pounds a pint of beer and cider, you have to write off while sitting for a while, quietly ... charging your mobile.
Seriously poor service, didn't have any coffee, didn't have any milk during lunch time visit, the staff had no social skills and paid little attention to clients. They consistently made errors on the order. V bad. Not coming back.
BEAUTIFUL PLACE BUT FOOD NOT HIGH HEIGHT OF THE GIRL COST BEHIND THE BANCO LAPEGGIORE THAT YOU NEVER EXISTED AND HAD NOT WANTED TO WORK, BEING DISCUSSED, AND MADE FAKE NOT TO UNDERSTAND ENGLISH
The design is cool, exposed wood ect. But i didn't really like being there, felt like the staff was constantly watching over your shoulder, astmosphere wasn't great.
The music was a little too POP focused for me but I guess that s what happens when a from NY goes to a random spot in Camden Town. My favorite bartender is the brother with the Jesus cross earring.
I saw my first English bar fight which security was quick to break up.
Like the description says. Music venue since 1973. Loads of famous acts have played there. Drink prices about what you'd expect given the location. Sight lines not brilliant if it's full.
The bands I saw there were fantastic and the staff were friendly and helpful enough, especially security, BUT we women had a hard job finding toilet roll in the large bathroom. The cloakroom service was also unavailable. It's November. Lots of us showed up in coats and came to dance. I also struggled to find the main entrance and that really should be signposted clearly.
Friendly professional staff. Good acoustics in nicely sized concert venue. Pity there is hardly any possibility to sit!! Also, some quite cumbersome steps in the middle.
Struggled to find entrance (as exit could do with a sign) and should've kept walking past. Wouldn't serve coffee (despite coffee menu and machine) ; had run out of all pies, Camden pale ale or anything that required cheese (why not pop to the shop??). Chicken burger was tiny, Nachos soggy (and covered with a runny red sauce) and the breaded fish finger burger was battered & tiny. I had to plead with the dj (who was pretty good) to shut the door as it was feckin freezing. All of this after waiting ages for the 1 bar maid to serve us while another minced about with a till. Rubbish!!
Was here to support a friends gig - the barmaid (black ponytail completely ruined our night). AVOID.
Edit: What a pointless response, not addressing the underlying issue that your staff member has no idea how to effectively communicate without being rude.
One of the worst experiences in London that I had. Drinks are expensive and everyone was kicked out of the bar for no reason. A security agent kicked everyone using strength because he "smelled funny". He refused to give his name or talk with the manager. Don't visit this place for your own good.
It's nice for chilling but not to eat in. 15 minutes waiting and turns out our order wasnt even being prepared. No apologies or anything they simply asked us to wait more. Maybe they are so busy that it happens much. Any way we were refunded as soon as we asked them.
Worst party I have ever been, NYE party was a joke, 1.5h to get in, security guards doing nothing many people jumping the queu. Once in not enough bartenders. HONESTLY...
Unstable tables unlabelled! Please label your unstable tables. Otherwise rip roaring events, you will enjoy as long as you like a bit of noise along with your chicken and chips! Oh and did I mention about the tables?
Was absolutely devastated by my experience last friday for SYSTEM, I've been going to this event at various venues for years now, and it is always the highlight of my month when it's on - The security at the door were extremely rude to me and my girlfriend, I understand its protocol to be thorough but to be treated like cattle and to be personally insulted is quite out of the ordinary for me, as a serial club goer.
The real problem was that both me and my girlfriend enjoyed the gig for a matter of five minutes, before security grabbed us and threw us out - why? Because I took it upon myself to let the cloakroom staff know that they were being EXTREMELY rude, one particular member of the staff did not speak to us for five minutes and left us standing right there (probably because the cloakroom wasn't open yet, but could we get that information relayed verbally? no), When we expressed to him that his behaviour wasn't particularly professional, he thought it was appropriate to stare at my girlfriend, it was unbelievably weird, and rightfully so i told him off for it- Apparently expressing discontent at such treatment is worthy of being kicked out.
I have never been kicked out of a club, in my entire life, and i'm used to extremely strict policy at the door, such as Fabric/Electric/Cable. There are entire forum threads dedicated to this particular event, and looking back at the reviews, past the obvious shills, it is obvious that i'm not the only one complaining.
Such a sorry state of affairs that this place has been run to the ground, i used to love the vibe, but it seems the security and the staff have been allowed to rule with an iron fist, much to the detriment of anyone simply wanting to have a good time without being accosted.
In short, this place has been ruined by security and staff, all experience a power trip of epic proportions.
I ve been coming here for 15 years, I ve missed the last few years but I came back the other night and boy has it gone downhill. Staff are rude and take forever to serve you, the drink prices are absolutely outrageous! I bought a cider, a More
Food was really nice, however 20 minute wait at the bar early Friday when hardly anyone there was quite the worst service ever. The food arrived and was eaten more quickly than it took to get served at the bar!
Waiting outside in freezing weather for 1h 45 min without explanation, then another queue to show the print ticket, how amateurish is that!? Expensive watery drinks did not exactly help... We expected a bit more from a UK venue, coming all the way from Finland. Luckily LP was amazing!
I saw Etta Bond here at the monthly Lick Party. Had a great time and once again it was easy to get to the front to capture these pictures. Lovely staff and decently priced drinks. It's a whole experience when you attend a Lick party so expect to spend money!
The ladies toilets were in an appalling state with neither toilet paper nor hand wash. One of our group, who had actually performed a gig at the venue, wanted to access the premises as he had left behind some of his belongings. The security on the door, for some unbeknownst reason, refused him entry and then proceeded to punch him in the face, causing terrible facial injuries. By the way there were several of them and one of him. Avoid this venue, as the security staff have little or no self-control.
