Tried and gave it a go for the first time in years, having had a bad experience in the past. Still dirty, staff hovering around bar instead of attending customers outside and generally rude staff. Pity for the kitchen staff who are obviously doing some work, as food presented well. Staff are least friendly I've probably ever experienced here.
Tried IRNBRU in this place ,for the first time, when i travelled to the UK and i loved it.
We came here for a week away and this became a regular haunt. The staff are very friendly and more than happy to let you know what whisky they re into at the moment. Would recommend for any visitor who wants a quiet drink in a relaxed atmosphere.
Very nice pub on grass market, good food and excellent beer. I don't understand why it seems to have a somewhat lower rating than other pubs on the same square, which we tested and were not as good as this one. Strongly recommended if you look for a bite and beer right in old town.
First pub we visited in Scotland. Nice place and atmosphere, friendly staff and a an interesting system for toilet use during times of Corona. If your at the Grassmarket hop on by for a pint.
Lovely atmosphere, great food and good value for money. What's not to like? I had vegetarian lasagne (which came with garlic bread & salad) followed by rhubarb and strawberry cheesecake. Very tasty and nicely presented.
They played Corporal Clegg, gave us samples of beer and a student discount. 5/5 would highly recommend.
It's one of those pubs you see but not really sure what to expect. We popped for a pint and had a nice time with views over Grassmrket. Very friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere
Nice break from lock down. It was quiet and nice to sit in the window and people watch. Hoping the staff gets there regular crowd back and looking forward to more meals here and maybe a nice pint. This time I just had some nachos, veg lasagna and some apfelsafts.
Had a very nice dinner here. My friend and I shared a burger and fish and chips. Both were good. The service was very friendly too. The live music was also nice.
