The Equity Alliance (TEA) is a Tennessee-based 501c3 nonpartisan grassroots organization that is dedicated to empowering Black communities and promoting equity. Led by award-winning Black women, TEA envisions a society where Black communities are thriving and have equitable access to power, resources, and the freedom to choose their quality of life.
At TEA, the mission is clear: to unapologetically build independent Black political and economic power. This means educating individuals on their rights as citizens, advocating for policies that benefit the community, and mobilizing voters to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
One of the key ways in which TEA achieves its mission is through voter engagement. The organization recognizes that voting is one of the most powerful tools available for creating change in our society. As such, they work tirelessly to ensure that every eligible voter has access to accurate information about elections and candidates.
In addition to voter engagement efforts, TEA also focuses on economic empowerment within Black communities. This includes providing resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs who are looking to start or grow their businesses. By supporting these individuals with training programs, mentorship opportunities, and other resources, TEA helps create a more vibrant economy within these communities.
Another important aspect of TEA's work involves advocacy around issues related to social justice. From criminal justice reform to affordable housing initiatives, this organization works tirelessly on behalf of marginalized communities who have been historically underserved by our political system.
Overall, The Equity Alliance represents an important voice in our society today - one that advocates for equity and justice for all people regardless of race or background. Through its various programs and initiatives aimed at building independent Black political and economic power while educating individuals about their rights as citizens; it has become an essential resource for those seeking positive change in our world today!
