The End Up night club Review

I m not the only one lol. Do not go there. Over charges. Atmosphere not enjoyable. Also if you go you will be supporting a business that is clearly discriminatory in its practice. This is a public event. The club owner/manager and bouncers hand picks from various parts of the line based on how one looks. Bases entery price on looks. Not worth $20, $30, $50. They don t honor the pre-tickets if you re not female, and if you are, you have to have body or a cute face. And I haven t seen too many females in my last few times attending. They also make it look like it s packed by holding the line up. Don t fall for it.

This club is not big, but pretty cool. I came here twice. One night the DJ was mixing amazing music and we had great fun. The other night music sucked, crowd was boring and it was a disappointment. I guess I need to go third time to make up my mind about this place.

I came here for my 31st bday and had such a blast. The door guys are really cool and easy going. The bartenders are fun, efficient and quick. The crowd was perfect. 20's-mid 30's well dressed crowd. Everyone was there to have a good time and that was all. The decor is really nice and cozy chic. Out of place among the surrounding establishments, but no biggie at all.

Great club overall, gets nice and busy after 1:30-2AM! Diverse, vibrant, welcoming crowd. Definitely recommend coming out! Nice lighting, sound system, good sized dance floors, and huge outside patio for smoking... cool waterfall too.

The coolest after hours hand out and place to meet up with friends. This is for the hardcore part goers who like to enjoy the entirety of their weekends. Among other things one can find many of the locals here to meet up with and make friends in this scene. A cool place.

Overall experience was OKAY. Ambience was good, drinks were reasonable. The only one thing was DJ music was way too LOUD, and DJ wasn't helpful at all about it.

I remember the days of DJ Ruben Mancias and David Harness and Harry "Choo Choo" Romero. Just to name a few. The list goes on. That was 2000-2001 btw. Wonder if the music is the same

Oct 2014 - I went to The EndUp on my last night in SF. It was a good decision and I happily arrived back at my hotel at 5am. People are generally friendly here so if you are tired from the dancing, you can start a conversation with almost anyone. The rooms are quite peculiar so I'd say keep your minds open when you visit.

Late night club, soundsystem small but sometimes only option available. Bouncers suck, be careful whom u share ur drinks with.

You don't have to stop because it's late. The dance music here is great for dancing the night all the way into the morning. Always a great place to dance.

Awful. Bouncers create an artificial line so it looked full on a Friday night around 2am. Cover was hefty at $20. Music was poor on a non-event weekend. Not many people were at the venue and the ones who were there were smoking weed in the back. The dancefloor was pretty bare. The people at the entry also did not announce that alcohol was no longer server beyond 2am- something that non SF natives would never know! Anyway, never coming back.

now the music is awsome if you like men with no shirts this is the club for you. now sat-sun they are open 24hours the cost is 20$ but they have a outside part with a walk up balcony and some of the best mix drinks i have had. p.s try not to pass out or they will ask you to leave very fun though

I ve been a regular for a while...Went for a party that was advertised on facebook (twice) and eventbrite. Paid $30, and immediately upon entering it was something entirely different (different themed party, music genre, crowd, and artist). Immediately went to the cashier to ask what was happening, only to see that this is clearly not the first time this has unfortunately happened where she needs to side-step someone else's irresponsibility. She swept us aside and said to talk to the bartender s, that s where we re likely to meet a manager. We speak to what we are told is a leader (shift lead/manager) and ask him what is happening. He tells us that the invite is incorrect, that we this is the party promoter and we have to talk to them and should try to get our money back.

After much asking everyone and getting nowhere, ask the bouncer if they know the party promoter, and was pointed to a man (Jeff, I believe?). long story short I ask him why the discrepancy between the event and the promotion and he gets incredibly defensive and rude. After trying to calmly talk to him he tells if we don t stop asking questions and are not happy we ll be kicked out. Upon realizing this we left. This was a very negative experience and I probably won t return.

It's the place you "end up" when everything else is closed... Other than that if you can get in for free great, if not save your money

I was so disappointed by how they treated us.

We went in after going almost every weekend, thinking it again was going to be reggaeton night based on their online advertising, on both their event page, Facebook and eventbrite. It wasnt, and when we realized (less than 5mins in) we asked for a refund. The cashier and promoted got very aggressive with us, until we felt uncomfortable and then when we complained they kicked out of the place.

Honestly, it's ok if the night didnt end up being what they planned, but I'm really not ok with how they responded. I will truly never go there again because they got so mad and aggressive with us and I dont think that's ok.

Great place to hear fantastic house music of all kinds. Deep, funky, disco, vocal and electro house all call this place home. Crowd is very up for it, friendly and the atmosphere is lively and second to none in terms of having a good time. Staff s wonderful. This place is for the real, die-hard all night clubbers and dancers that aren't ready to go home just yet. Highly recommended.

You have to be in the right state of mind for the end up... They don't call it the end up for nothin! If you are still awake at 4am and you aren't ready for the party to stop you just might "End Up" here. Of course they is no liquor severed after 2am so if you don't wanna be sober I'm sure you could find other treats at this place as most sidewalk pharmacist end up here too. I'm not sure what time the end up closes but its long after I'm passed out at home for sure. Last time we ended up here we didn't leave until sometime after 7am.

They have an unexpected patio out back with plenty of seating I thought there was even someone selling hot dogs or something last time (but I may have just dreamed that lol)
There is also at least one pool table... Its all a little hazy...

But if you are looking for the after party it is always at the end up. So if you want to keep party rockin head to the End Up and pound Reb Bull all night.

Disturbs surrounding neighborhoods with super loud music well past midnight and into 10am the next morning. Doesn't think about the impact of code-breaking loud bass on neighbors.

I had fun for sure. Warning though it's too easy to stay here until 8am because free cover before midnight, alcohol and access to drugs suppliers. Though some nights there are no suppliers and just people asking you for things. I would go more if I didn't need sleep.

It was alright. Didnt have the time of my life or anything but, I had fun dancing till 6am. There wasnt enough people inside to be worth 20-30$.

Went on a Saturday night, the cover was fairly cheap ($10). The dance floor was a little small. Drinks are reasonably priced, there is an outdoor smoking area, and while they didn't have a menu for typical bar food, they did have pizza available on site- $5 cash only. One downside was not being allowed to go out and come back in without paying cover again.

Went on ShangriLa RED Party night. So your experience on other nights may be quite different.

Had a guest from NYC. Paid the cover for everyone at 1:59. They wouldn't serve drinks after 2, so we left immediately. Sober, we politely asked the manager to refund our cover, and they refused. Would have been great to at least had a warning at the door. $60 for 90 seconds. Absolutely, definitively, will not return, and will ensure anyone visiting will never end up at the EndUp.

The music was not what they advertised. The place was empty. The front person (Jeff?) was very rude and aggressive with us.

Came at 630pm from out of state heard was nice spot for day party security was rude and also said wasn't letting anyone in and doesn't end till 830pm but let a group of lady's in which were my family members smh never again

Contrary to some frightening reviews, the line was short and moved quickly (~10pm). The bouncers were professional and courteous. The drinks were strong and overall a good value. The bar lines were short and moved quickly. Overall, a very good experience.

Honestly, we had such a blast. The staff was welcoming and so accommodating. The food is wonderful. Highly recommend the pizza. This was my first San Francisco night out and I could not have been more thrilled with the outcome. This place is a hidden gem. Will definitely come back.

If you love to party till morning, this is a place to go.. amazing music and open minded people. Open till 4 AM on Saturday night.

We supposedly got on the "guest list" and were supposed to get in for free if we arrived before 3 or somthing like that. They charged our guy friends 70 and me and my girl 40. We were there on time!! we get inside and it wasn't even crackin. Made us wait in line for an hour but for what it was empty. If I could give it a 0 I would. DON'T COME HERE. Literally go anywhere else.

Always a good time. Hip Hop/Pop before 2pm most Fridays, House and techno till 2am on! The outdoor space is just off the dance floor so you're always connected to the music. Great porch with seating. The best afterhours bar in SF.

I like this place it's always fun, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the web site said that it was open Sunday but when we got there it was closed

Great House Music, great dj's, a definite San Francisco institution. This is the type of place where you can meet a lawyer to your left and a homeless artist on your right. Most of the people that go here are into music, House Music specifically as it's one of the BEST venues to hear the newest house music in the world. There are some drugs (as much as other bars) and less than nice bouncers, the service isn't all that great although the drinks are STRONG, the music is the best and the people are interesting. If you're a homophobe, older, not into crowds then someplace down the street is a better hang out for you...further down the street....down in the pennisula somewhere.

The WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!! They promote free before a certain time but will have you wait outside for 30 minutes!!! DO NOT COME TO THE END UP!!! Had a great time at bootie earlier this month. It had been too long since I last went out clubbing so I was definitely in the mood to get some dancing done, bootie turned out to be an excellent place to do it. I hadn't heard about mash-up music before, but it is awesome. Especially when both of the songs combined were ones you've grown up with and knew the words to.

Well, from what I recall, I had a blast. Great music, strong drinks (be careful with these), lines were quick. Totally worth the $15. Everyone in there was having a ball. I'll make it a point to stop here for another mash up night. Dancing was the objective here so dress comfortable people.

Was served water & tonic, not gin & tonic. Slimy, shady business practice. Now I see why it was dead.

A really disappointing experience. The bouncers stopped the line at the African American group to let in over 25 Asian American individuals. It is not about race but the bouncers didn't bother to listen to use and showed no respect to the people of color in our group. One of or group members was not allowed in for calling out the hypocrisy and the rest of us just decided to follow suit. From a person living in the Tenderloin this is really disheartening. I thought a place like this would be all inclusive.

Love this place, i had no idea it has been in business since 1973...that's freakin AWESOME!! Great experience, i will go back next visit to San Francisco

I went last night and paid $30 for a "Dura Reggaeton" night, after being invited by a friend and seeing the event on social media. Unfortunately, the advertisement was false: the music was not reggaeton; it was Bollywood. The entire venue was empty, and the drinks were watered down with a lot of ice.

I attempted to get clarification from the staff about the event, but they dismissed my questions. I won't be returning here.

This place is a total RIP OFF! stops serving alcohol at 2am but will still take your money and NOT let you know. I can not stress this enough, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Even if you do get here before 2am, it stinks (like actually smells terrible) and the bartenders are SO RUDE.

I love the End Up at 2am, 4am, 6am and 2pm. How can you beat a raised dance floor that other dancers will you help you up onto even when it's absolutely packed? A fireplace on cold nights. A waterfall on warm nights. And one of the most dependable lineups in SF.

Thank you End Up for being a staple in the SF community. I think my first visit was in '89. I hope you'll still be here when I'm 89.

Music was great. But felt like I was the only straight guy there for the whole night. Which was perfect for the FEW girls there.

Didn't feel that place was discriminatory at all - saw people of all shapes and sizes. A nice place for an afterparty. Relatively small club. Cool music and vibe. Will be back.

we followed the advice of the guide "lonely planer" regarding the tea dance of Sunday. we never saw that. not only did we not get in but the bouncer pushed us away from the door violently for no reason at the time I showed him my ID. other customers suffer the same fate.

i ENDUP This is the place to come and dance, meet others, chill and relax all at the same place! I love this place! The vibe and culture that the Djs and event host create for this place is amazing. Everyone everywhere is smiling and having a great time. Starting off the week with THURSDAY NIGHTS and ending it through Sunday night is all you need to satisfy your night life hunger I give this place 5 stars and 2 thumbs up One love

Best freaking club around! Amazing music and you will definately find a good crowd to chill with have a drink unwind and dance!

Super fun place to go! Feels very underground and the place is full of hipsters and cool kids. The music is amazing. NOT top 40 but rather a mashup of house and hip hop alike. The place was packed, everyone was shoulder to shoulder. Do not go to this place if you want an ordinary club. If you're looking for a music venue with loud music, intense crowd, and sweaty fun all over the place, then this is the place for you.

Not bad, but not good. The club was not too crowded for a Friday night, and after 4am there was only guys dancing...

The owner is always around and makes sure everyone is happy. The food is delicious and the drinks are even better. I looooove the coconut infused rum, i swear I can swim in it.
