Not a good school for any child with learning disabilities, they lied on my sons IEP said he was getting help from their special education teachers he never received. The state pays them for these services. When I ask for a meeting I was treated rudely and as wellas in the meeting all parents should contact PEP they are leagal advocates here in las vegas free of charge to help parents at these types of meetings. Dont let Delta or any school take advantage or make choices for your child! They where not at all happy that I showed up with Pep. I would rate this school 0 if possible never have I been treated so poorly by peoe that should be helping children!
Thank you, To all the staff for helping my daughters, Mr.Principal you are doing a great job, Mrs. Alejandra Thank you again and God bless you.
Great school, if you like small class sizes and a family-like atmosphere. The only gripes I have are: the school's budget is a tad small, there are a few students who just refuse to follow rules (luckily they get taken care of quickly), and the food is a bit un-savoury (but what do you expect, it's ccsd meals). Everything else is enjoyable, though. The teachers always give 1-on-1 time with students if the student needs it. The students are usually always friendly to one another (with the exception of the annoying middle schoolers, but that's just my high-schooler opinion lol). And most of all, the workload is very minimal, but if one is unable to finish the work on time, the teachers are lenient when it comes to work being turned in late.
-Nikolas Cagle, 11th grader at Delta Academy, 2016-2017 school year.
This school, is not worth it. Who am I to say? I am one of Delta Academy s former students. During my stay at Delta, I have discovered many flaws with their school. Now to point out, I am not the perfect kid, but I will try to make the perfect example. I have ADHD, so obviously I am hyperactive(yes that is a stereotype). I have been wrote up multiple times. Unjustified, to say the least. Due to my personally severe ADHD. It is hard to keep me in one place, but that should not stop the teacher from understanding. I now have an IEP in place, just after the schools actions. I now use my IEP to stop incidents such as what happened at Delta Academy. I like to stand and walk around the class a-lot, sometimes helping students and passing around my own answers. Anyways, Delta Academy in personal opinion, is one of the worst schools for any kid without a reinforced IEP(that has a disorder like ADHD). Some examples of the schools events.
Students caught preforming sexual acts behind a dumpster on school grounds, during school hours.
Constant bullying, lots of drama too.
Multiple fights.
Students casually talking to teachers about drug usage.
Loud and inconsistent classrooms.
Sometimes the Nurse doesn t even bother showing up to school.
This is just a handful of situations you can commonly find happening at Delta Academy. I have decided to not list any names of students or teachers, out of the kindness of my heart. But they know who they are. Delta students are even referred as the Bad kids . I just want to let everyone who has read this know. You, or your child has a better chance at succeeding, anywhere else. Homeschooling would even be preferred over Delta Academy. Delta Academy, is the LAST school you should ever consider. It is kind for me to rate the school 1/5. Kind.
I am a senior in high school and I graduate next month. I honestly really enjoyed this school and it was one of my favorite schools. The teachers are great, open and in general very laid back. I feel like the teachers here care more about the students than a normal school would. The work is challenging but it's doable. I love how the school gave me the opportunity to graduate a semester early. If you fail anything you get a reset, and you can take notes on everything except ACT's. The online classes are short and bite sized, my junior and senior year I didn't really enjoy. I hated it and wished that I went to a different school and right now I'm quite a loner at the school, I don't think I'll miss it but I'll definitely miss the teachers. I didn't have very many friends here, in fact I barely had any. probably why I wanted to graduate so badly. I understand why my mother didn't want me to go here, but since I knew I could graduate a semester early I just went anyway. Do I regret attending this school? No I don't. Would I recommend this school to a friend? Depends on the friend but probably not. I guess this is my final goodbye to high school.....
Horrible school. Teachers do not pay attention to every portion of online assignments and do not pay attention to the emails I've sent them, constantly having to reevaluate the score because they didn't pay attention to the notes of the assignment the first time. It's as if every staff member here is related in some way. The kids are insane and no one has any real structure. I regret ever associating with this wretched place!
Horrible kids pants at there knees, disrespectful, not everyone has to wear there uniform , because they don't want to. Girls sitting on boys laps in lobby. Small classes but kids are playing, yelling, and fighting. This is like a opportunity or credit redemption school. Teachers are great but how can they teach kids that don't want to learn.
