Supremely relaxing place and good value for money. This choice of hotel for a short break has yielded an excellent experience. The location is magic..a historic house set in extensive grounds running right down to the river. Henley is charming.

A lovely place to stay, we were lucky to get a view of the River Thames. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the grounds were absolutely beautiful!

The venue is a member's club rather than a 'hotel' but don't let that put you off. We were treated very well by the staff who were very professional and caring.

The breakfast was lovely - very tasty and freshly made. I like a nice cup of tea. You'll get that here.

There's not many places I don't want to leave but this was one of them. I have a strong connection to the Thames and to be able to see it out of our room was perfect. Wake up early and watch people practising rowing. If you like boats there is an abundance of boats passing with benches overlooking the river.

Will definitely recommend to someone wanting a short break - good value too. I probably wouldn't bring young children (we have a young child and he stayed with his grandparents!) It's not that it's unsuitable, it's not the sort of atmosphere that kids would appeal to young kids.

During the regatta they have bouncers who are dressed like the men in black - which is quite sweet.

They are opening a wellness centre.

It's pretty and well maintained.

They have a manic show for children during the regatta which is nice.

Like most of the places in Henley it is trying to 'maintain standards' e.g. get people to dress behave a certain way. Perhaps consequently, it has a reputation for being full of fusty old people.
