The Children's Inn at NIH Review

I wish I could give this place a million stars instead of just five. It's a place of complete love, acceptance and comfort for families who have children undergoing testing/procedures at the NIH. The staff is incredibly welcoming and the environment is positive, uplifting, and fun. They offer family meals, special activities, game rooms, books, TVs, art, etc. Every visit has been perfect (albeit while dealing with stressful life issues). I can't praise this place enough.

They do the best possible for the families at the NIH. My son is 13, not many kids in his age group. The younger children seem very happy. The support for the family, meals, activities, amenities (they even have a cold brew coffee set up) is very impressive. MANY MANY generous volunteers help this place serve the families. Just not as appealing for the teen group, not as many teens visit NIH? So we don t have the thrill of being there for our check ups as most families do. Sadly. Still glad they are around!

They do a world of good for young kids! Always treat you like family!

There are many amenities and activities at the Children's Inn; almost too many. My 6 year old was elated when she saw the playroom full of toys. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Inn is within a short walk from the main medical clinic but there is a shuttle bus constantly available. The only thing I was wanting is for the beds and toilets to be elongated.

What they do. for the children and their families is outstanding. Enjoyed to be there. They thought about any detail.

Very nice place to stay while at NIH. People working at the facility are super friendly and very helpful. Lots of places to play for kids and it is very open. You can walk the halls, play at many indoor and outdoor play areas. Several common kitchen areas with mini fridge and freezer for each guest. Dinner is also served by volunteers everyday which is also very nice after a long day.

The Children's Inn is an AMAZING place. They take such good care of their patients. My daughter and I have been coming here for ten years. They are such a blessing and we are so thankful that we have been able to stay here whenever we have to be at the NIH. If I could give them 100 stars I would!
