I own a small business in Lawrence and the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce has had my back since day one. When I started my business 5+ years ago, they held a ribbon cutting. While I appreciate the pageantry of an event like this, the Chamber also offers the core tools to help an entrepreneur navigate any challenging business climate. To this day, the leadership team of the Lawrence Chamber has been personally involved with me and my business growth. The current President and CEO, Bonnie Lowe, has taken time out of her busy calendar to speak with other business groups when I have invited her. VP Hugh Carter has met with me over coffee to discuss life and business. Outreach Coordinator Tiffany Hall has alerted me to individual corporate events and initiatives where she has thought my business may be a good fit. Communications Director Lindsey Slater has been a great ally in promoting my business through the multiple digital channels that the Lawrence Chamber manages. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the chamber "pivoted" so that it continue these type of efforts. There are more individuals who I can mention, but it's clear that the entire Lawrence Chamber team has an amazing culture where it is truly focused on rallying behind its small business owners. I also appreciate that the Lawrence Chamber supports the independence of its entrepreneurial community.
