The food was awesome. It doesn't matter what you order, chicken, fish, crab cakes, oysters..its all delicious. We had a large crowd and our waiter, Noah took great care of us! He was funny and so nice.

Good food. Great and very friendly servers. The portions are more than adequate for the price. The flavor really makes it, surf or turf, you get your money's worth.

Deep fried southern catfish at it's best. I have been to dozens of catfish places, and not many stack up against the food here. The staff was responsive and friendly. If you are in the area, give it a try.

Bad service. Had to wait for shrimp cocktail sauce. By the time I got it, I had to finish eating the shrimp or it would get cold. Hushpuppies came late. And the catfish my mother ate was mostly crust.

Took 50 mins to get food. But was good when it did get there. 3 stars for taking way to long considering it wasn't busy.

Mixed feelings. Beans cole slaw hushpuppies anf the fried shrimp were delicious. The main meal sucked ordered the grilled shrimp rice bake potato shrimp was curled up and could not be chewed and cold sent it back and it came back worse. Needless to say beans cost me 16 99 and that was the meal beans just beans But the sad part nobody cared not even the lady manager she never apologized nothing . Wasn't looking for no free meal just some good food But did not get it. And the staff there need some training especially the manager. Very disappointed

Just had mom and dads 50th wedding anniversary party at the Catfish House.

Today's experience was interesting. The server did a nice job and she was tipped very well. However, there was a huge problem when we arrived at the register. A member of our party wanted the gratuity removed from her ticket because another member of our party left the gratuity at the table. This request was met with hostility. The manager was very aggressive and the situation turned ugly. It should have been handled differently.
Our family frequents this location at least twice a month, but after today's fiasco the likelihood of returning is slim to none. By-the-way, we we had a large party and spent at the minimum $300 plus a tip.

Was wonderful . All the food you get you really get your bang for your buck.

Best hush puppies ever! Excellent food choices and the catfish is spot-on. No way you can eat all the food they bring you. Highly recommended.

While the food is good, the plastic table cloth was so sticky you couldn't put your hands on the table. Also the fish size is smaller and the price has gone up.

It's about an hour away, but the food is amazing! They bring fried okra, cole slaw and white beans to the table and the white beans were yummy! We got the caramel pie for dessert and we said we would drive that hour just for the pie itself!!! The service was also very good! Thanks for a wonderful meal!

So they were out of cheese sticks, oysters. The $7 SHRIMP COCKTAIL only comes with 6 shrimp. The waitress spilt ranch on 6 peoples coats, the didnt have enough seating despite taking a reservation for more than the amount of people who showed up. The fixings that come with each meal were served as group platters all at different intervals, none containing enough for anyone. And they dont serve alchohal. No wonder the one in Smyrna closed down. They screwed up the sides for the kids. And to top it all off when they finally brought it all out they forgot my cheeseburger so i had to wait another 30 minutes. they also burnt my sisters samon. Sidenote the fries were soggy, and the hushpuppies were tasteless. Finally get my burger which is simultaneously burnt and undercooked and it tastes like a boot.

Noah is wonderful! This is my favorite place to eat.

Had combo bd and mothers day dinner today. Remind's me of when they were in Smyrna, sure miss it! Great food ! And server Bryce knows customer service! Will make the trip again

Whoever said this place has the best catfish has obviously never eaten anywhere but here. I was not impressed with the food or the restaurant itself.

I have never had a bad meal here. The fish is great. The service is great. Prices are pretty good also.

UPDATE 08/2013

As I mentioned in previous review below, occasionally you may receive okra, beans or potato cold or soggy... well, it has gotten much worse. The fish was still hot and tasty but they have really come down several notches in other foods and customer service.

My sister & I were there in late August and it was not good. Nearly all the staff, (abt. 7 or 8), were sitting on the benches in the lobby ON THEIR CELL PHONES TEXTING.... No one bothered to greet us. After several minutes I said something and a waitress finally said she would get someone to seat us. She came out wiping her mouth and hands and then took us to the far sunny room where no one was and tried to seat us in the "hot" end of that room. We refused and she said that it was really hot in there, (something she already knew apparently.) Mind you, we were not the only customers in the house. There were some in the middle room and on the other side but, there was pleanty of seating in the middle room which is where she finally put us. From these seats we could still see all the staff on the lobby benches Texting. Which I'm sure is what she was trying to avoid in the first place.

Everything that was supposed to be hot was cold and vice versa... except the fish was still fine. The waitress was unconcerned and moved very slowly. She was trying to work both rooms, the lobby with her texting co-workers and the tables she had in our room. Their wasn't any question in which room her loyalty lie and it wasn't her customers room. She did not tend to customers like she should and we waited for replacements, things not brought during food delivery, tea, etc. She never bothered to get in any hurry concering her customers. When we finally got replacement food, it was cold and/or soggy too. We gave up as there didn't appear to be anyone in charge either.

The tables and seats were sticky and greasy and the restroom was dirty and stinky. The whole place needs a deep cleaning. And would you believe, when we left the staff was still seated on the benches in the lobby texting on their phones.

I got throw up sick shortly after eating and believe it may have either been the hot mayo slaw or the hot tarter sauce left on the table. In that kind of heat, it might be wise to refridgerate or have it on ice.

I am hopeful that the manager or owner will see this and make necessary changes to bring the Catfish House back up to standard because they truly do have the best restaurant catfish available anywhere.

We've eaten at Catfish House since it opened. Springfield location is better than all other locations. Catfish is always excellent... No muddy, silver skin taste! They use really clean catfish fillet that are cleaned of fat, mud vein, silver skin and are all white meat that is very sweet. On occasion I've had to request replacement fresh fried okra because it has set and become cold and/or soggy. Baked potato is not always brand new but, they will cheerfully replace anything you request. Oh, they have a bad habit of cutting a slit down the baked potato through the alum. foil.. just request they not cut the foil on potato when you place order. White beans have great taste, both slaws, (vinegar & mayo) are really good. Great hush puppies. Love the relish and tarter sauce. Be sure to ask for blue cheese dressing to dip okra in... Absolutely fab starter, (be sure to ask for extra plates so you can easily share.) Even their sweet tea is fab. I can't say enough good things about the food! Service is usually very good. Resturant is clean but could probably use a good "spring cleaning". I'm sortof a clean freak but, if i'm eating there rest assured, it's basically clean. Restrooms are clean and well kept. Management is humble and appreciates your business. It is well worth every penny. I just can't say enough good things about the food. If you love fried catfish, (or chicken tenders), you have got to eat here. It will quickly become your favorite too!

We love Springfield, TN Catfish House. Food is always delicious & plentiful. Other choices besides catfish. Our servers have always been nice and good at the job. Military discounts but we had to ask for it.

Not great fish, very greasy. My fish had a good flavor, but others in my party had very fishy taste catfish, one person had Cajun strips, they had no flavor at all, so thin with fish you wouldn't know you were eating any. Sides were good. Probably would not visit agai

We celebrated our twins 15th birthday dinner there last night. The food was delicious we really enjoyed our family time there. We will be back

Service was good, and the food was great. Don't like the rules that go along with certain items, especially when you sit down with a group of people and the breaded okra, beans, hush puppies & cole slaw are on the table, but you are told you can't eat any of the these because it doesn't come with what you ordered.

Good food, both chicken and catfish. We wish they would pay a little more attention to the cleanliness of their condiment containers on the table. Our waiter kept drinking straws in his back jeans pocket. He would sometimes drop one, pick it up and put it back into his pocket. Not good. Some tables and chairs feel sticky like they need cleaning.

I came here last Saturday and Gracie was my server. Me and my husband were served with the best possible service! The food was hot and amazing. We waited no longer then 10 minutes for our food to come out. Gracie made sure we were well taken care of and we blessed her with an amazing tip!! HIGHLY recommend to come and eat here for any occasion.

Really shouldn t be one star, but it s the least it would allow me to do!! SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE.. there for almost 2 hours and never got our food.. very unfortunate since I didn t eat lunch.. brought out beans, slaw and hush puppies.. but no silverware.. never apologized. We paid for that and left.. disappointed!
