I have never seen so much beauty in one place! I was very happy to wander around the gardens, even if it was raining! My wife and I were on our honeymoon and this was definitely a highlight of our trip! And their gift shop is amazing. Spent more than I'd like to admit but it was way worth it! Hope to go back when the roses are in bloom! Gorgeous!

With approximately 6 separate gardens within the gates, you can spend an hour or two total covering all of them, just depending on your pace. Well worth the money in my opinion. The gardens are a short 40 minute shuttle ride from Victoria.

The most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. I highly recommend everyone who appreciates beauty to tour here.

Just over the top wow. Getting a year pass is uber economy. Just two visits and its paid for. The beauty of this garden is always changing. So many opportunities to visit if you live close by.

The gardens are amazing for sure. The staff are all helpful and pleasant. I thought it was a bit expensive to enter, get kids on a carousel, and eat a cold sandwich lunch. Although it must take a small army to keep it all as perfect as it is. One bunch of flowers caught my attention, had to ask because it smells so good, the cherry pie plant, aptly named. So I guess I learned something.

Butchart garden is located in the main city of Victoria on Vancouver Island, Canada. Founded in 1904, the park is a colorful and dreamlike garden transformed by Mrs. Jeanne Buchart on the basis of her husband's exhausted limestone quarry. There are many gardening styles in the park, such as Japan, Italy, etc., as well as delicious afternoon tea and ice cream.

This place never felt to disappoint, even in fall. Our two boys, 3 and 7 had a blast. There was a cool scavenger hunt for them to complete. We rode the carousel. We even picked out some great seeds for the garden from the gift shop. And yes, you can bring the seeds back to the States!

Absolutely the greatest garden I've ever been to. Shouldn't be missed if you make it to Vancouver Island. If you have plant allergies, beware. They have about every species that will bloom when you're there. I had a massive allergy attack after visiting. But that wouldn't keep me away....I just need to antihistamine up before going...or maybe wearing a mask (which would feel odd and uncomfortable.

We love Butchart Gardens, a lot of people don't realize how much the kids love it too. Our children 5 & 7 are always asking to go there, this is why we have yearly passes. Helps get the family outside and we can even bring our dog. Great time, everytime.

Absolutely superb world class gardens. In the UK we tend to take these for granted and unfortunately might tend to dismiss others. These gardens really are excellent. We particularly enjoyed the Chinese area.

World-class gardens maintained year round. Expensive, but wonderful experience - we get annual passes each year. Don't miss the Magic of Christmas and skating each winter! Kid-friendly, pet-friendly, restaurants on site.

Wow! Look at this, no look at that, and that one. It is just overwhelming.
Make sure you plan ahead and take at least one break. The coffee store at the entrance is an excellent place for it, being more than just a coffee shop.
You can walk around for hours and take hundreds of pictures.
Wish 'loudness' of guests could be controlled better, but if you come closer to the end of the day, then it becomes tranquil and relaxing.

Always a great place to spend a couple hours. Remember during the Christmas period only go at night because of the lights. BTW the coffee is getting better. One thing though, for the locals that come all the time, maybe add some new features...

This is the first time that I visited the Butchart Gardens, and I just fall in love with this incredible place. Being surrounded by followers, you can almost forgot the reality. Definitely will come back here. Truly worth to visit!!!

I love this place! I'm a pass holder, so I visit a couple of times a month. In the summertime they offer entertainment which is always a hit. Yes, it's expensive but they always make sure to make it worth your while! The gardeners keep this place beautifully landscaped, and as colourful as it can be for each season. It's so lovely to see the changes in the seasons if you're lucky enough to go more often.

Spectacular gardens, well worth the visit. Amazing to note the effort which went in to beautify a quarry to this state. All the gardens are beautiful, distinct and very well maintained

Its worth the trip to see what a person with vision could do with basically a hole in the ground and create a beautiful green space. This place was at one time a quarry and over many years a was transformed into a lovely garden.

Fabulous gardens...worked well for handicap access. Beautiful day and excellent layout. My daughter loved the Asian gardens and I love the rock quarry and waterfalls. Rose gardens were exquisite.

As locals, we visit 4-5 times a year, there's always new things to see, or things we missed (lots of moss animals hiding in trees). Saturday fireworks are always well done - not your normal fireworks! It's a definite must see if you can fit it in.

If you like an extremely wide selection of trees, flowers and exquisite scenery then you will love this experience. It is a little pricey but there is a lot of upkeep required to keep the gardens looking as wonderful as they do.

I wasn't sure if this was a good idea as ticket price seemed pricey. Turned out this place was beautiful and we spent full 3 hours there walking around except stopping for a little for ice cream. Flowers and plants were stunning. The place was super organized and staff was friendly. And this place has so much history. This is a must visit if you go to Victoria.

While I have been to the gardens (after living here in Victoria my whole life), none of the botanical beauty can over-shadow the atrocity of a lovely couple being turned away from entering, for being "in costume", when in fact they were elegantly dressed in Victorian attire appropriate for the setting. Disgusted. Will never recommend to visiting friends again - Vancouver Island has many beautiful free gardens (without their noses in the air).

Such a beautiful place. The quality of which depends on the season. However, they always try their best to keep it beautiful and make it entertaining. Every employee I ran into was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. Most importantly, it is a good place to play pokemon go.

The entrance to the park was visually stunning. We didn't go into the park because wet didn't know it was $30 per person and one hour was not enough time. We will definitely be going back when we have a couple of hours to explore this garden.

Beautiful experience, we love to recommend or take our guests over on the ferry to experience. Absolutely amazing garden areas with a variety of food options to choose from as well as ice cream.

Beautiful gardens, even at night thanks to the lights they had. Evening and night might have even been better. Pictures came out well during the evening, but my camera couldn't catch the night shots nearly as well. The concert that was playing made walking around even better, too. The layout of the gardens kind of turns your head around a little, but the paths tend to lead you back to the connecting paths. We didn't need to resort to the map very much, but when we did, it was just because we were trying to make the most of our limited time. If I ever visit Victoria again, I am going to try to get to the gardens again.

Fantastic gardens! Spent hours strolling around through sun and shade. And you can bring your dog!! This was a huge bonus for us as we travel with our pup and can't participate in much because he can't come in to most places. Thank you for being dog friendly!!

Very well maintained and lots of flowers, but didn t understand the hype, some said it s worlds 4th best garden. In Canada I d rather experience pure nature than pay $30 to see curated garden , happy that the parking is free.

Went in December. Their famous Christmas lights live up to the hype. A most visit destination in BC. I rented a car in Victoria and the drive wasn't too bad, about 30 min. Spent about 2-3 hours, but could have spent more if I had brought an extra jacket
