The kitchen and dry storage is infested with roaches. While employed there i brought it to the attention of owner/ management and no action was taken. Then i was informed to not bring it up again. This is huge. How are they still in business?

I really wanted to like this place but the food just wasn't good. We have been several times and the level just hasn't improved. The building is beautiful and well decorated but the food is what matters.

I ate in Waterloo at the Brown Bottle. This place is really good!!!! Great drinks, food and service! My server was exceptional!!! Her name was Sacoya!!!!! She was the best!!! Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. Sacoya made this a great, great experience!!!!!!! I had a few of their wines from a pretty big list. They were great!! I ordered the prime rib and it was to die for!!!!! Very tender and tasty and not much fat. I also had a shrimp cocktail and it was really good too. This place is just a fun place to go and have a great time!!!! Every visit to Waterloo will include this place!!!!!!! Plenty of parking right across the street and actually beside the restaurant too.

Nice cozy atmosphere, great for a blustery winter evening. Not a lot of surprises to the food, it s your basic Italian- inspired eatery. I had the ravioli with pesto sauce, which was pretty good.

Loved the atmosphere and the service great and food was very good. They have a cool subtle bar in the corner which gives a laid back feeling to the place. A nice place to have a drink and reset yourself.

First time I was here, we have been wanting to come here for some time after seeing all the commercials on this place. Let me begin by saying The atmosphereis is spot on. I will give it a five star for the atmosphere alone, the food however I would only rate a two star. We all ordered the prime rib which was below subpar. This is the kind of prime rib I would expect to get in a casino, thinly sliced and a little bit overdone and no flavor. The twice baked potato and come served already mashed up in a little soup bowl, seemed dry to all of our taste buds.

At least I can say I've been here, however we will not be returning.

The food is excellent! We were celebrating my husband's birthday and the service was so far beyond terrible the experience was ruined. The manager was very nice and we hope to give it another try with a different server.

We decided to go to this joke of a restaurant for New Year s. There was 6 of us total and while the atmosphere was pretty good the food I ordered Geeek shrimp was by far the worst meal I had in 2017 at any restaurant. The meal had absolutely no flavor, it tasted like plain pasta with marenera out of a can on top of it and watered down vegetables. I made sure to tell the manager about it and she asked me if I ever had a meal like that before and told me that s how it should taste and that she thought it tasted great. They gave me free dessert and that was nice from that as that was the least they could have done after I finished 2017 with a terrible meal.

Delicious seafood lasagna eaten by both husband and myself. Took meatball sub to grandson which he loves. Been coming to the Brown Bottle for many years with never a bad experience. Thank you!

Ambiance is great, better than the Cedar Falls location. Heavy on the rosemary with the ziti; mushrooms can't be avoided in the lasagna. Garlic bread was great and the salads were fresh. Decent selections of wine.

This place was okay. Not great, okay. I had the fettuccine with shrimp, and it was okay. The noodles were overcooked, which is understandable, and the shrimp had okay flavor. Our server was very young and quite green, but tried her best. I think it was her first week.

Overall, it was okay.

Fine Italian dining and big city feel at the Brown Bottle in the historic Russell Lamson building. Low light and intimate setting, a great place for a date or couples evening. Prime Rib, Orange Roughy, Chicken Marsala are very good choices. Have been going here for nearly 20 years. Food is a little pricey for the Cedar Valley.

We visit Waterloo several times a year, and The Brown Bottle is always a destination. Food is great and generous and service is very good. Be prepared to take food home, especially if you want dessert.

I got great service from Noah at the bar to end the evening. The manicotti was amazing and the mushrooms as an appetizer were amazing. It's classic Italian with a modern spin. Best I've had.

Very nice place. Atmosphere was nice except maybe just a tad too dark. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. For such a nice place as far as decor and the way things were set up was very surprised and somewhat disappointed in the fact that one of the hostesses had on jeggings. This did not match the with anything else in the entire place. I know small and insignificant but very noticeable. My wife had a small problem with her food, however it was taken care of very quickly and apologetically. Only complaint on that part from me was, we were told the manager was personally making my wife a new dish, but they never came out to speak to us about it. Our waitress did handle everything wonderfully but would have liked the manager to come and address it with us also.

Really good service...but food quality was not as its best. My favorite lasagna anywhere was just ok...and pretty greasy. Pasta dishes at the table were generous but also not what i remember. Ive been a customer for 30+ years...and am hoping this was just a bad night.

First timers! Celebrating a birthday. Excellent food, service and ambiance. They obviously go above and beyond in every aspect of a supreme restaurant offering! An experience to remember!

Best meal we had in Waterloo. We were in time to order from the Early Bird menu, smaller portions. We had chicken parmesan and lasagna. Both surprised us at how small the portion was, but it was plenty, especially with a salad (part of the meal) and delicious garlic bread (a limit of 2pieces per person which was more than we could eat). Top it off with malt pie (flavored like the candy malt balls). Very good dinner. Good iced tea, too.

Atmosphere was nice. Food was mediocre and service was almost non-existent with no refills our entire visit. She was extremely slow, mind you we got here with reservations at 4 when they open and there were only 2 other groups in the restaurant. Boyfriend got the veal, looked like it was microwaved, very chewy, and the ham on top was dry. I got the chicken fettuccine with chicken and alfredo sauce, it was alright but the portion size was huge! I will be getting atleast 3 meals from this plate, it was almost overwhelming. Will likely not be coming back due to the food and the lack of service. For paying 60 dollars I almost would have rather gone to olive garden where I've had consistent service and the food is always cooked fresh.
