Good understanding of gluten free for a person with Celiac disease! And the food was yummy. Even the gluten eaters loved it!

My daughters and my had a wonderful dinner. I had the lasagna and my daughter had the eggplant casserole. We loved the Brown Bottle in our hometown of iowa City but it closed a few years ago. We miss it. We were not disappointed at the Waterloo Brown Bottle.

Greatest place on earth. The food was fantastic, the waiter was kind and thoughtful.

Disappointed. It hurts to post that but I had high hopes for my favorite chicken marsala after being out of the area for a few years. Will definitely return, but even the margarita was so sour it gave me the hiccups. EXCELLENT service and ambience.

Prime Rib, very good, cooked perfectly, med. tender,great flavor. Horse radish, the best I've had, the best by far. Spaghetti meat sauce always great. Awesome ! Great server.. had to settle for Pepsi .. coke is better !!!

Perfect for our date night. Just what you want for a relaxing dinner out with your sweetheart. Friendly, welcoming, smiles all around from staff. Food was outstanding. We had the baked feta, yummy. The freshly baked bread was steaming hot out of the oven. I had canelloni, my wife had spaghetti. Both were superb. The canelloni had so much flavor. I've never had anything like it. We'll definitely be back.

The best Lasagna in town! The beautiful building and atmosphere make this perfect for date night!

The food here is great! Definitely worth the money. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Call ahead or get a reservation cuz it can get busy, especially around the holidays.

The pasta entrees are delicious, especially the baked ziti. An enjoyable atmosphere and good service.

Not exactly an Italian dish, but they have an excellent chili. Chicken parm was very good as well as the twice baked potato.
Had a couple from out of town with me that loved the ambience and architecture of the building as well as the prime rib.

The salmon was delicious and our servers were great.

I think this is my favorite atmosphere of any restaurant in Waterloo/Cedar Falls. So cozy and cool. Foods always great and so is the service.

I have waited a few days after visiting to post the review. First, our server was fantastic. But we come here for the food. Ordered mushroom appetizer which was barren of the butter and dill normally found, about a 1 star. The butter shrimp pasta recipe appears to have changed and the breading is just plain old - not good! The butter sauce laid in the bottom of the dish. The lasagna lacked a fresh taste and the noodles we're a gooey, chewy texture. Our son ordered a new dish to us and it was considerably better than the other 2. We used to go the the Cedar Falls one, but switched after the last. 2 visits to Waterloo were outstanding. Now I am not sure that the Brown Bottle will make the list for a long time to visit again.

A bit pricey, dark, food was not as good as expected.

Service slow and untrained. Food tasted reheated! maybe even microwaved. YUCK!! Alfredo dry! couldnt get more sauce. Prime rib tough! the only food that was hot was the potatoes.

Very nice atmosphere. Food was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Not one complaint from our party of 8.
