Kissing the blarney stone is kinda a must for all that visit. But you should take your own photos of yourself kissing the stone, because the photos that they sell at the bottom are quite expensive.
I really hate tourist attractions but not this one. In the charming town of Blarney. The grounds are simply beautiful. The snack bar had beer, wine, and really yummy whipped ice cream. The line up to the Blarney Stone moved quickly and the whole experience was fun and interesting. I enjoyed it way more than I ever thought.
Gorgeous castle and experience, semi long line but it went quickly. The grounds and gardens are breathtaking as well!
Loved Blarney Castle. Grounds are well maintained and lovely. History is well written out and easy to follow. I didn't go to the top due to claustrophobic stairwells. Footing in some places a bit precarious. Well worth the $18. See the Woolen Milks afterwards outside the castle.
It's a bit of fun and a novelty to do. Get there early to avoid the queue. Make sure you have someone to take your picture unless you want to pay 10 or 12 for it.

Blarney castle is another great place to visit especially if you like medieval times. The history behind the castle and all there is to see including the Blarney mansion will keep you wondering around for hours.

One of the most beautiful parks in West Cork and Ireland. Many sights in the huge park so take your time, it's a day trip. Don't forget to kiss the Blarney Stone!Blarney House is only open in summer.
Everyone needs to visit Blarney Castle at least once. The vista took my breath away and I want to live in the fern garden forever.
Yes it is a unique experience, but is it worth waiting and winding up the keep stairs which can take nearly an hour before you get to the Blarney Stone which to be fair is just a lintel stone above the highest window in the keep out in the courtyard? A personal choice obviously but I am pleased to have kissed the Stone. What are excellent are the extensive gardens around with Ancient Yews and huge trees - a must see for tree lovers.
You have to visit this place if you don't visit any other place! Definitely worth it!

Ok, so heres the thing. This is obviously *the* touristy thing to do in Ireland, but in my honest opinion the best thing about doing this is touring the grounds and for me, especially the castle. There are people there to assist you and you get your picture taken. Tip the guys helping you. They have to stand in the weather all day. Just do it and shut up about "having to kiss a rock".
Good experience. Think we were pretty lucky with few people when we visited the place. However, the tickets are quite expensive.

This place is very well kept. I really enjoy history that I can touch and see and feel. We're able to go to the upstairs or you may consider the very top of the castle to kiss the Blarney Stone. And a walk through all of the building and the grounds. I highly recommend visiting this location and making enough time to see it all. That might be a full day to everyone. Well worth your time.
We had a great time! Climbed the narrow stairs up to kiss the Blarney Stone, took lots of pics, and toured the gardens. The commanding view is worth it. No rush, tour at your pace. A very pleasant experience.

For me, the queue was long. Took about an hour to get to the stone. If you want to buy the picture of you kissing the stone, its 10. Although slow going, I was abe to tour the castle. Kissing the stone seems scary, not bad once you actualy do it.
There is so much more to this tourist attraction than just Blarney Castle. Yes, the castle is terrific, but the grounds cover an enormous area and provide so many hidden gems that leave you in awe. Allow yourself plenty of time when you visit. Take a good look at the provided map of the grounds and take the time to explore all the other attractions shown. You will NOT be disappointed.
Went in October and had virtually no wait (maybe 5 people in front of us) which is clearly not the case in the peak season as we walked quickly past signs reading things like "90 minute wait time from this location". The staff were friendly, and they do spray the stone with some kind of cleaner between each person, though I strongly suspect they don't wait the recommended kill time. Still, it was basically exactly what I expected. Good experience over all.
Could spend a whole day there and not see everything

Well worth the climb even if your not kissing the stone. The climb is easy because of the volume of people going up, you only do one or two steps a minute. They had stops along the way if you needed them as well. Staff at the top help you reach the stone and keep you safe. The views from the top with the mountains and town in the background were awesome.
The visit was extraordinary the garden of the castle is huge and margin of variety is a beautiful show very beautiful experience

It can be a bit tight and scary in places going up the stairs. Be carful if you are tall, scared of heights or have big feet.
But overall when you get to the top you will feel liberated and amazed by picturesque landscape so beautiful to see.

More than an hour making an inhuman queue climbing some very uncomfortable stone steps to then have to lie face up on the floor and have a man push and hold you to give a kiss to a stone with all the babitas of those who have gone before ... And thanks to the fact that the Lord is not falling from the tower ... Very unworthy

You can t come to Blarney and miss the kiss. The famous stone lies on top of the steps and once kissed you will get a gift of eloquence. Is it true, though? To find out you must see for yourself.
Cool castle .. But the thing with the stone is questionable
Plan lots of time so you will not be rushed because there are so many things to see here. What an experience! Hopefully you won't go on a rainy day because those steep Castle steps are very slippery. They clean the Blarney Stone with Sani wipes in between each person so they claim it's sanitary.

I liked it a lot. It's funny to make a weird action on top of a real castle. Do not be afraid to kiss the stone, in fact it is not difficult and not scary. At this moment, you are photographed from two angles and at the bottom they are selling your photo by the number put by the kissing assistants of the paper for 10 euros. The line from the bottom of the castle took about 20 minutes.
Cool experience! The line was long, about 45 minutes, but it moved along much better than a line at Disneyland. Kissing the Blarney Stone is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so don't pass on it. The view from the top is really great, and you can see the surrounding grounds from the top of the castle.

Unless you are on some kind of mission from God, do not go and wait in the line for the Stone itself. Just wander the town. Walk the grounds. Great gardens. But if you get there and there's a long line for the stone already, skip it.
Spend time in town instead. Blarney is beautiful and we wish we'd spent more time there and less time in line!

A must do as it adds some fun to the visit of a great castle and gardens. Enjoyed it very much.
The castle and grounds are amazing, didn't realize the stone was built into the castle and on the very top. Not for the elderly or anyone afraid of confined spaces as the climb can be a bit tight and lengthy. Otherwise, the journey was worth it. Beautiful area.
This castle is set in lovely gardens. It is a tough climb to the very top, due to a narrow circular stairway. The queue can be long to make the climb. Facilities are very good for refreshments and food. There is also plenty of parking (fees apply). There is a gift shop at the exit.

Great experience but way too touristy for my liking. They had a camera set up where you kiss the stone. Cool for safe keep if you're into that. But otherwise, I wish it was less touristy because it takes away the castle experience for someone coming from Western Canada.
