Kiss the friggin' stone. The experience of climbing through the castle and getting the view from the top was magical.
Very cool castle, a little but too built up and touristy for my tastes. Come early in the season and early in the day to avoid the crowds
Kissed it and felt awesome , but worthwhile place to visit if you in Ireland.
If you re in Ireland you have to make a journey to the Blarney Castle and kiss the Blarney Stone. I love visiting places with stories of good luck behind them. The trek up to the top took a while but was well worth the wait. I also suggest walking down the wishing steps close by.
Very expensive day out for very little really. The castle is pretty as are the gardens, but definitely not worth the 18 entrance fee
This castle! The castle to rule all castles! There a magical stone that give you powers here... To be very honest 18 ( 14 if you can convince them you're a student) is a good price to pay for magical powers of you ask me.
Now you may ask...what magical powers are on offer at this century's old stone masterpiece? It only is the one and only GIFT OF THE GAB... what does this mean? Only the ability to tell good stories around a campfire. That's right kids, a mystical stone brought down from the heavens, bestowed on humanity to offer an escape from this endless turmoil granting you the talent of a novice comedian. Oh and the only way to gain these powers is to perform a borderline cultist ritual where you're forced to Spiderman kiss this germ infested tourist trap. Would recommend.
But that's not all you can also visit the poison garden home of the worlds most dangerous substance... MARIJUANA...don't worry it's secured behind a protective barrier that would put fort Knox to shame. If you're looking for an alternative the opium flower right across from it is a good look.
That's all I got to see...you should go...trust
What a place. It is a must while being in Cork. The castle grounds have a cave, poison garden, stables, cafe etc while the castle is pretty much intact from the old ages. It has so many rooms, the smallest and the most steepest stairs, amazing vibe and of course the gift of eloquence. I am super afraid of heights and this was quite an experience. The photo of you making out with the stone costs 10 euro. Definitely go!
Classic tourist spot! We had a manageable line (20 min?) when we visited about 4p during the week.
A great castle to explore and Beautiful grounds. Make sure to give yourself enough time to explore all the gardens.
And make sure when you kiss the stone to put your head far enough down to reach the correct stone.
Beautiful surroundings. Quite a climb up to the Blarney stone and kissing the stone was retty Scary. Very commercialised but worth it
Nerve wreaking trying to reach this thing while hanging from a height but great fun
This was way cooler than I thought! Sure we kissed the blarney stone, but the castle, fern forrest, the rock garden, and grounds were amazing. A must see!
We had a great time at the castle. Make sure you have coins for the parking machine. Walking the gardens is much more rewarding than kissing the stone, but while you are there go for it.
The Blarney Stone is situated at the top of the Blarney Castle, which I have already reviewed in detail. To recap, the Castle is situated in beautiful gardens, it was very crowded to get up to the actual Stone. It took us an hour of queuing to reach the Stone, up some extremely narrow and steep steps. The kissing process is over quickly. You lie on the ground, on your back, there is guide who supports you, lean back and grip the handle bars and kiss the stone. There is metal grid ensuring that you cannot slip and fall down. The whole process takes less than a minute. I suppose it is something that "needs" to be done when in Ireland but I personally found the whole experience overrated. But having said that, the Castle Gardens are truly beautiful and I would have loved to spend more time exploring them.
Went mid-April, at 9am (opening time) and didn't wait or queue for a single thing. There was posts that said "wait time from here: 90mins" that we strolled past, straight to the top of the castle. Would recommend this time!
Beautiful grounds and Castle, well worth the entry fee.
I kissed the Blarney Stone... That's all I have to say about that.
Remember to bring wipes before you kiss the famous Blarney Stone
Something I have always dreamed of doing was kissing the blarney stone.. this place was an amazing place to be with my love
I kissed the stone a week ago I don't notice a change. Ahaah! This is one of my favourite castles. Be warned because you need to have mobility to walk up the stairs because the runners are thin & it's dark in there. Don't do this if you get claustrophobic. Nice views from the top of the castle and gorgeous surrounding gardens.
Great place to visit. I found out I had already kissed the stone when I was a child. Highly recommend
I kissed it! Such an interesting experience! As long as its not too buy I would recommend!
Beautiful the park, useless the climb to kiss the stone. Kiss the stones you find in the park
This is my favorite castle to visit in Ireland!!! The castle is well preserved with numerous arrow slits and murder holes to examine. The climb up can be a bit claustrophobic because ascending the tower stairs is narrow with a low ceiling and tiny spiral stairs. Get here early or you'll be stuck inside with a long line. Kissing the Blarney Stone will test your fear of heights, but even the elderly were able to do it. Once your back down the grounds, be sure to explore the poison garden, walking trail, and the magnificent gardens. You can easily spend 2 hours after the castle.
Overpriced, unfriendly staff and the online ticketing system was slow to process. They did not recognize our online tickets at the gate initially.
I didn't kiss the stone as I am deathly afread of heights. But it was worth seeing.
The castle was impressive. The thing with the stone is very funny. The hour of waiting to get up was less fun ... The castle is well developed for tourism and there are also many tourist buses. The garden is definitely beautiful in good weather.
Wonderful garden, lovely castle ruins. Really enjoyed the Poison Garden.
It was a bit of a wait but more than worth it. The view was beautiful from the top and the blarney stone is one of the most iconic tourist stops in Ireland. Everyone back home asked me if i kissed it so it was fun to say i did.
Absolutely amazing landscaping and buildings. I wish we could have spent the entire day there and not just a few hours!
Lovely place visited there years ago castle has lovely grounds
My opinion little overrated but when in Ireland I guess it's something you have to do
Not a tourist trap at all Come early tabloid queues. Gardens superb. Bonus I wasn't expecting this to Verso good
The grounds are really nice, the castle is cool but it's so busy and pretty expensive. Had a two hour wait to do the stone and get into the castle, personally I don't think it's worth it. There are quieter castles in Ireland, that are in just as good condition and less of a tourist trap.
A well preserved castle with the added bonus of the Blarney Stone. The gardens and surrounds are very pretty. Good takeaway food.
The place is as near perfect as you can get for facilities and a landmark place to visit.
Fun experience. Certain people turn their noses up at this, but it's fun to do if the line isn't too long. We we about an hour before closing and waited about 45 minutes. Well worth it, for me anyway.
Part of the Blarney Castle tour. Lots of fun and touristy. Loved it.
The most beautiful gardens and one of the best attractions in Ireland! You have to kiss the Blarney Stone!
Great day at the Blarney castle, beautiful gardens, amazing views from the top!
Gorgeous gardens. Good family day out as there are loads of places for the kids to explore.
Scary as heck but a mist see tourist attraction. Especially on a nice day, the estate is gorgeous.
Omg a most for everyone will you be brave enough to kiss the blarney n get the gift of the gab lol just make sure you ready to catch that picture of your mate it s over in a flash surrounding gardens well maintained cafe has good range of good n caters for the plain Jane yes I got a plain chicken roll no mayo whoo hoo great day out also seek out the steps you go down backwards great fun great day out for all folk of all ages great views from the top of castle n gift shop will have you wishing you had loads of money to buy everything
Interesting experience. Very over crowded however. Worth it if you don't mind heights. Leaning backwards over a 50 meter drop to kiss a stone for good luck to summarise. Didn't manage to kiss the stone as I'm too short. Probably doomed for eternity of bad luck. Views were nice too.
Not really crazy about the tourist traps, other lesser known historical sites are more impressive. You have to kiss the Blaney stone, it's just a thing you do! The grounds are impressive, but not worth 18, IMO
Know that millions of people have kissed it before you.
Long line in front of the tower ... Beautiful gardens
Amazing experience on this rainy Saturday morning. Best part only 10 people in the whole place, no waiting, no crowds. Majestic views. A must stop
It's a tourist trap nestled inside some of the most beautiful grounds in Ireland. The castle is stunning. Plan to spend a few hours wandering the grounds, there's so much to see
Nice castle and gardens but expensive for what you get.
Very tight space to get to the top. View and the top is worth it. The guys at the top will assist anyone that wants to bend over backwards on the fourth story to kiss a stone. Seems safe enough. They will sell your picture to you at the entrance. Loved the gardens.
Pretty castle, incredible grounds, less than friendly staff, and a very long line. Everything is centered around kissing the Blarney Stone. Worth a visit, but not sure it s worth 18/person!
OK its cool and i did kiss the stone. But really so many wonderful beautiful historic castles and churches in England, I am not really sure why this was a priority.
Great time. Even having had a rough trip for several nights before, visiting this castle and kissing the Blarney Stone really cheered me up.
The gardens are beautiful here! We have been to several Castles and this one is unique! Must kiss the stone!
Long queue today (Sat) so patience is essential. Ok for novelty value but the gardens are definitely worth the visit.
The castle is beautiful, the stone ... Tourist trap I would say ... And hello hygiene ...
You know you have to do it! At least there are nice people and clean well maintained buildings waiting for you.
