The Black Bull Inn Review

I had a poor experience in this place. Battered fish was almost raw inside, I highlighted the issue but got no reply, still fully charged. 50+ eur. For 2 adult 2kids no desserts, no starters, just water... Nice ambiance but I don't see the value for money.

Food was amazing.. Staff are very helpful and it's a real cosy place.

I have had 2 excellent meals here recently lunch and evening meal. The food was gorgeous and the decor cosy and colorful. Service was very good too.

Nice pub, beer garden is one of the best I've seen in Ireland, food average.

At one time the place to be seems a bit tired and dated now...food once great now ok friendly staff

There's a lovely atmosphere to the place, staff really ad to it. Very helpful, always close without being on top of you. Theres a bar area which is good and big with loads of screens for sports. Cosy lounge area, a well set restaurant. And a gin parlour which is their function room.

There's also a lovely beer garden with heated terrace.

Can't say enough good things about this place

Decent food. Decent staff. Decent pints of Guinness. Good craic on Fridays.

Have been a local at the Black Bull Inn in Drogheda for years and will continue to do so. Food is great (love their salads and steaks), Itzabar is a great place to watch a game or go for a few drinks with friends also, and they've a new cocktail bar called 'The China Shop' which does tapas also.

There 2 weeks ago.
Food was ok.
They had a band a dj and a 21st at same time. Noise was so uncomfortable we ended up not having dessert and leaving.
Very poor. And we would have been there every 2 weeks.

Our second time hear grate food and drink grate staff and cosy

Food too edible. Beer too accessible. Service too agreeable. An hostilery of excesses.

Great Roast beef but why put packet gravy on it? Have complained about it 6 years ago but they never bothered to listen

Excellent venue, beautiful food, great bar with good atmosphere and now has a dedicated gin parlour offering a wide selection of gins. Fantastic beer garden great for kids in summer

A family favourite "The Bull" has something to suit all tastes. It's popularity with the locals is a key indicator and reservations are recommended for the restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere heightens into the night with live music most weekends. Don't be confused if the statue of the bull on the roof isn't black when you arrive though, it changes regularly in line with local and national events.

Nice staff and clean and well decorated place although some photos and posters were controversial I would advise them to put More chips in the pot got ketchup and I was horrified to see that it was frozen almost like some coating on top of it with some specks of dirt

A great spot for a bite to eat or a nice drink. Everything served from Sunday Roasts to Sizzling Fajitas, delicious pints of Guinness or fancy cocktails. If you do try one thing, make sure it's the Huevos Rancheros.

What was once a really good place for food has sadly gone down hill. The quality is really lacking and appear to be living off their reputation now. Only ordered a toasted ham and cheese and chips but the ham was as processed as you can get and if the cheese was easy singles I'd have been lucky. Very disappointed

Ordered the baked ham open sandwich the ham was not baked just slimy packet ham we sent it back....disappointed

Really nice place to have a pint or have something to eat, the burgers are huge but are delicious!

It's a cosy place with a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic food music and chats with friends fab staff was there for a birthday party pure magic recommend the Black Bull for parties and going out for a meal u won't regret it x

Celebrated my mum's birthday with you today with my brother and family. Food was fantastic and the service was excellent. The staff had great time for my 3 yr old niece. Will be back.

Have always liked the Black Bull and enjoyed meals there but was very disappointed on Friday last that staff were not wearing face masks and that tables were not removed to maintain social distances.

Great food ( good value for money. Quality) great for a celebration or special occasion. Pub lively and has great atmosphere. Recommended

I was in town for a week and coming in late from work we were happily received by the amazing staff. Good food and beers. Will come back when back in drogheda!
