An absolute staple of Blowing Rock. Service and food are always solid. It will be on the list again next year. My wife had the tuna and it was perfectly done, as was my lamb.

Excellent atmosphere, fantastic waitress, and delicious food.

We have celebrated our anniversary for 25 years in Blowing Rock with Saturday night dinner at The Best Cellar . Unfortunately the quality of food has deteriorated greatly. I don t mind paying for a good meal and told Management not to discount this one but it was our last visit.

Always love the food and the visit anytime we come!!! Will definitely be coming back!!

This place is amazing! They seated us right away when we arrived for our reservation. The server was very friendly and provided good service. The food was so good! There's nothing wrong with this, but there were peas in my house salad and I don't like peas at all. But, that's just a food preference and they might have listed it on the menu as I didn't read the salad description in the menu. The food was very tasty and I don't agree with the people who've commenting the food has no flavor. The grounds outside are beautiful.

Turned away by a very snooty hostess. I have to say after serving my country in the Navy and for someone to act in that manner when there's obviously plenty of seating, You will never get my business or anyone I know.

Called and made a reservation for our 16th wedding anniversary.we ended up parking on the street 500 yrs from the dining room.after a long uphill walk we saw a sigh approx 4x12 inches hardly visable saying valet parking.was seated about 20 mins late.this was without a doubt the loudest seating area I have ever been in.we thought we were in a football stadium.although I was only 3 ft from my wife we had to lean in close to hear a word spoken.two couples at different tables had a 30 min conversation yelling back and forth.one elderly couple as they left walked over to them to tell them how much they had ruined their dinner.our dinner with no alcohol was 120.00 and the food was mediocre at best.service fair.last trip for me

We attended a concert on the lawn which featured the Harris Brothers. They are one of our favorite musical groups. Thank you for a great evening.

Service was A+. Ambience was A+. Menu was interesting. Wine was served in a timely fashion. Salads were crisp and sufficient portion to be a good start to the meal. The tray of appetizers was very well presented, but not particularly tasty. The oyster recipe needs to be revisited. Lots of cheese, little oyster flavor. We had five different entrees at our table of six. The short ribs were, by far, the best preparation and presentation. Tuna entree served rare, cod in a white, citrusy sauce, and lamb dish were good. Crab cakes might have been better. Clawmeat needs less commercial seasoning with a little chopped sweet red pepper and panko crumbs. Flavor should come from the crab with a light touch of the canister of spices. Server was pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. We declined dessert. Overall, the experience was good. I would return. I had not been back for two years after a poor experience in the cellar downstairs. This time we were seated upstairs next to a fireplace. Lovely! And the food was hot. Glad I returned. I think the restaurant makes a good effort and is one of the top five in BR. Local quality business deserves our support.

My favorite place to bring out of town guest for a special occasion. Wonderful atmosphere and the food is always delicious. The wine cellar is a perfect way to celebrate a day with dinner.

The food was outstanding. Our server was wonderful. However, the hostess was very cold. The moment we walked in, we felt uncomfortable. My husband was the first to arrive. We were staying next door. The lady asked when his party was to arrive. I arrived exactly at our time. My husband was told that there would be another seating at our table at 6:45. Towards the the end of our dinner I noticed the hostess and a server pointing at us. In a nice establishment, you may want to kick someone out of the table but those people would NEVER know it.

outstanding food and service... Highly recommend for special event. Four persons in our party, all had different dishes, all were excellent. Desert was fantastic too!

Food is consistently good. Very nice wine list. The cellar room is unique, great ambience!

Everything tasted amazing! The beet salad was to die for (swapped dressing). Halibut and duck were great, as was the lobster soup. The zucchini side was good, but the squash sounded better than it tasted. Gouda sauce could ve had more flavor but it was still good! Great service, we would go back!

Have eaten here several times and always had a great experience. The food is great the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful.

We were 30 minutes early for our reservation and were seated right away. However, the waiter rushed us. He said they had reservations coming in. He didnt want to give us much time to order our dessert. Said he'd be back in a minute and they had to turn over the tables because it was to be a busy night. Did not appreciate being rushed through our meal
Aside from that, food and atmosphere were great .

Excellent service, excellent meal. Had the blackened pork chop special with mashed new potatoes and stuffed zucchini. Haley was our server and she did a great job. Highly recommend this place.

Food and service were excellent. Try the banana cream pie. It's incredible!
