Good variety of food and right on the beach. Loads of cakes as well.

Lovely coffee, able to just grab a table outside, food looked amazing, will come back again!

Brilliant food & coffee. Very lively, busy eatery. Haven't tried the savouries, so can't comment. Cakes are super and a decent size but can be a wee bit pricey. You will have to queue for a table at busy times.

Visited on a number of occasions. A nice cafe but am prompted to write because service is always slow. The staff seem to be nice young people, but do not have the spark the job needs. Always the same, shown to a table then ignored until summoned. They stroll past or chat to each other behind the counter. I reckon management is weak. Business possibly come to easy. Disappointing.

Service slower than have known on previous visits but much busier too. Still quality produce and excellent surroundings.

What a fantastic place by the seaside so close to Edinburgh city centre. We went there on a beautiful sunny day for breakfast. The staff were super friendly. I had the breakfast special of a bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon, sundried More

Come here on a foggy day and it will feel like it's not from this world.

Great location, great food and excellent service...

Cosy, bright place with excellent views on the Portobello Beach. Wide choice of tasty cakes and pastries. They always have some gluten-free cakes available. The coffee is great and you can order it with organic milk or almond milk, if you are lactose-intolerant. I cannot count how many times I've been there and I still love it!

Gorgeous cafe with wonderful views. Only complaint is about how horribly busy it can often be. Victim of its own success obviously!

Wonderful beach cafe on the front at Portobello. Very popular and bustling venue but the staff are very efficient and get everyone sat at tables quickly. Good food from eco friendly and locally sourced. Well worth the visit to sit and watch the crazy dookers!

Delightful place, great view, delicious food at good prices. We recommend the cakes (lots of them) and the sandwiches for a quick lunch.

The slowest staff in the history of the planet! There are always about 12 of them standing around, big queue for coffee and the waitress made herself a cup!

The place is fine, the price is a bit high if what you want is a coffee shop instead if you are looking for an organic food cafe is the perfect place, very beautiful views, relaxing atmosphere and very successful decoration

The food was tasty, and we couldn't fault it even though a tiny bit pricey, HOWEVER, the service was slow, and we had to keep calling/asking the waitresses for service/attention and even rude at times. I was stood trying to decide on a cake when one of the waiters came in between and dumped a basket of cutlery on the table and started unpacking it putting it into the relevant place. Then I asked for a glass of water which never came so I asked another girl and finally it arrived. Lastly another waitress came and abruptly asked me to move out the way so she could get to a drawer where the folded napkins were kept. No thank you or anything. The table next to us ordered their drinks and cake before us yet waited till we were finished our cakes before theirs even arrived!

Fantastic place on seafront, fast turnaround of tables, it's worth waiting for! & a responsible environmental policy (an example to many)

I thoroughly enjoyed the Beach House After a walk along the beach, a steaming hit bowl of delicious home made soup. Would highly recommend!

Excellent location with great views and delicious food. Homemade cakes and lemonade are great.

This is a nice place to escape from the wind and gather your thoughts as you plan your day and work out what's for dinner (in our case a chippy). It has beach/nautical themed inside, a little alternative looking, but quite nice. Pricing is somewhat high, but it is very conveniently located and quite spacious in terms of seating. It has gluten free, dairy free and vegan options. The staff started clearing our table before we were finished, but otherwise no problems. They now bake their own bread which is a plus. You may have to wait a bit to be seated.
