Recovery is going well, more and more things are opening and the collection of shops is beautifully curated. Great toilets too! Try an ice cream at Rollicking (they also do dairy free) or fudge samples at the Fudge Cottage.
Being crrently under construction does put a slight downer on the whole building and area, but it does somehow maintain its light of elegance to show. Student arts and works are still displayed and performed here on regualar basis, meaning something is always on while you're there.
Great place for a stroll, looking at beautiful historic buildings.

Didn't have too long to explore and originally wouldn't have had bc half of the back all looked to be under renovation, but thanks to the nice toilets inside haha I got to have a peak around! Big old place for sure with lots of shops inside the front outside looks very nice at least too! So long and expansive
The buildings are slowly being brought back to life after the quake damage. There are a few you can now walk around. The room with the art works in was a total disappointed.

Interesting place to spend a couple of hours browsing different artwork or just admire the architecture. A few buildings are still being repaired as of Sep 2019. Hope to come back for a visit once the building works are completed.
Have spent many a days visiting the Art Centre and enjoying the scenery. It is starting to get back to it's former glory as the repair work continues after the earthquakes.

The Arts centre is repaired beautifully. It is now up to the public to come back and enjoy it.
