The Arrogant Butcher Review

One of my favorite places to stop by after a Suns game since it's just across the street. It's a good place to go if you don't feel like fighting the traffic after the game.
It's hard to go wrong with the Butcher's Platter since it's great charcuterie and cheeses. I get it every time. I also enjoy getting the oysters, king crab legs, and giant white shrimp, but the last 3 out of 5 times I've gotten the king crab, they've been over-salted to the point that it covered the natural sweetness of the meat. I'm guessing they over-salted the water they were boiled in.

They really need to work on their salad game. $12-16 for a small salad that left my friend and I both still hungry. The Asian chicken salad was romaine, some shredded cabbage and chicken. First time I've ever left a restaurant still hungry. Taste was ok, pretty bland.

The food was great here. Brought us back for a second night for dinner. Had the burger one night and it was great. My wife had the porkchop. It was huge, not dry at all and flavorful. Second night I had the meatloaf and the portion was large and it had a great flavor. Wife had fish and chips. Plate was loaded. We went home stuffed both nights. And the atmosphere was great. The lights, wall paintings and everything made for a great atmosphere.

The food was exquisite. I highly recommend the salmon and the filet mignon. Great atmosphere and server.

Meatloaf entree is fantastic! Generous portion of meatloaf, incredible smashed potatoes with green beans on the side. Very well prepared for take out and was just as good as dine in. Definitely a hit for pandemic take out!! Kudos to The Arrogant Butcher

This would be a five star review however the service speed at the bar is about as fast as dial up internet.

After being seated at our table all was well and the food was pretty good. Highly recommend the salmon.

All of these chain restaurants taste pretty much the same, it's better than places like olive garden but have this place higher rating because they have great service.

Had a spectacular experience, our sever was super helpful.

Great food and great ambiance. I ve experience the greatness of their sweet potato tortellini. It was the best and I will highly recommend.

We had an excellent company dinner here. The food was delicious and served in a very timely manner. The drinks were perfect and the wait staff was not only courteous but fun as well.

We definitely look forward to returning on our next business trip to Phoenix.

Was in town for a conference with some coworkers. This restaurant was recommended to us. We met up with some others from the conference, there were even of us. The food was prepared very well. The group of us had a variety of different entrees and all were happy. The appetizers the table shared were very tasty.

The wait moved quickly, the outside seating was lovely, and the food did not disappoint!

Very good food, excellent staff, but a bit pricey for what it is. Still, overall a great time that you won't regret and definitely worth a visit. Any place that makes their own sour mix is at least 4 stars by my standards!

I came here while having a lunch break on jury duty. I had a 2 hour break and it was perfect just sitting here slowly eating lunch and waiting for my call back. I had a quinoa salad that I wish I could just keep eating, and had pretzel bites with fondue as an appetizer. Both were fantastic, and the fondue was even great leftover since I couldn't eat it all myself. Definitely look forward to coming back next time I'm in the area.

Fabulous. We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and what a pleasant accident. We will most definitely come back. Service was outstanding and FAST! Food was excellent and vibe was awesome. We are from the NYC area and this restaurant would easily fit in there, it is that good, that cool, that hip.

Usually a good experience..Salmon was overcooked but dessert was great.

The service was good.. Server was very nice. Food was excellent. Very good for the value. We got the New York strip and almond Rainbow trout. They were both excellent. A ton of flavor, we will absolutely be back..

The meatball appetizer was terrific. Parking can be a challenge on game nights, but they do validate! Very cool place to be right downtown and experience the city.

Food is great only complaint is they were out of several dishes, three trys to get something they could serve

Staff and service was perfect. Had the Butchers Platter and split with the wife. Also, had some of the fresh oysters, a must.

Will be back to enjoy some more of the oysters and try another dish.

Nice meal. Stew was very good. Apps are the star. Good place before a suns game.

Awesome please great food great atmosphere in any occasion come before or after any ball game, hockey game or show. Food is always fresh and fast, staff are awesome just the right amount of mix between everything. Perfect place to be part of a perfect evening.

I went on a Saturday alone. The hostess was barely able to contain her contempt when i asked for a table of one. I get it, they're busy, the sun's are playing add it's peak Phoenix. Luckily they serve food at the bar, and it had seats open. The bartenders were great and the butchers platter was devine. Will be coming back the next time I'm in town.

Beautiful restaurant and outdoor seating area. The menu is fantastic and delicious, I highly recommend getting any of the boards to share with your table. Perfect place for a romantic date, celebration, or a nice night with friends.

Average at best. Prime rib was chewy and mashed potatoes are very watery. Disappointed eith food. Nice atmosphere on corner downtown tho.

I've waited quite a long time to try this place. I had an opportunity this weekend. It started off a bit rocky with what I considered to be poor service. My son and I got up to leave because of it, I asked to speak a manager because a place of this caliber needs to hear this.... The manager asked that we stay and let them make it right. I usually would not have done so, but like I said I've waited quite awhile to try this place. The service was really stepped up and the food was great! I look forward to another visit and trying different menu items. I was glad I gave them another opportunity to earn my time and review.

Great food. Loved the house salad, hamburger, and pretzel rolls. The cheese "fondue" was ok. Service was a little disjointed. Our appetizer was forgotten and then when we ordered a second drink it sat on the counter waiting to be brought to us for a very long time.

Excellent restaurant! Energized, yet relaxed (not formal) atmosphere. Great food. Wait staff very polite & attentive. Available to do groups. Will definitely be coming back here!

I visited the Arrogant Butcher with a large convention group last week. My daughter and I have lots of food allergies and we always talk to the waitresses/waiters about our options since we are so limited. I was very impressed with their service at this place. We usually don't eat at restaurants and we just go with friends to associate n then we just eat at home. After a few questions about the menu Chef Gary came out to make sure we were able to eat something. I was very impressed with their service. Most restaurants just apologize about not having anything that fits our needs. But chef Gary wanted to make sure we weren't left out and that he at least tried to meet our needs. We were able to eat a delicious meal with our friends and family. I would like to thank the staff n Chef Gary for that. I recommend this place because of their great service and good tasting food.

Each item was a little different than the norm, but all delicious!! The smoked salmon was more of a pate, the spinach with the filet was a sweet creamy base and the oysters were delicious (according to my husband). The service was also very good. Thanks for the awesome date night!

Terriable food, most of our table didnt eat theirs becuse it tasted so bad

Had a Great Dinner from the moment we walked in Smiles and a great greeting ,Hostess sat us at a great location server brought over menus and told us about Happy Hour ordered drinks and Carnitas nachos for appetizer that Carnitas nachos were great!! brought us out water as well server kept our water cup filled i ordered NY Strip steak Medium Rare and my friend ordered the crab filled chicken..food came out pretty quick my steak was on point so tender grilled veggies and patotoes were so good ..my friend chicken looked real good he had no complaints and said it was unique and was happy he ordered it ..We Enjoyed our dinner and hung out and talked a bit ..never felt rushed Great Experience..would defently return..

I've been here twice and both times it's been a long wait for food. The second time it took them 20 minutes before they brought us water. The waiter didn't apologize. We got salads, but you have to pay extra to add protein. I think an extra $8+. This place was so expensive and the service was slow. If you do end up going, the first time I went I got the scallops and they were really good, but a $30 plate isn't worth waiting for here.

Great place! Loved the atmosphere and the hard work of all the staff, they were very friendly! I really loved the burgers here, definitely a place that it's one of a kind!

First time at this restaurant in downtown Phoenix across from Talking Stick Basketball arena of Phoenix Suns. Easy to see and find from street with plenty of parking underground. Great ambience and staff was professional and courteous. There is some outside seating available

Food was very good, I had a Prime Rib meal that was very good and my guest had a Pasta dish that she said was excellent. Salads and soups were also very good.

I will be returning here in the future.

Place is 1/2 full on a Tuesday and they refuse a table and want customers to wait 1.5 hours. Weird.

Ordered fish tacos for $17 and it was disgusting. Definitely do not come here if you're looking for a decent meal

Love this place! Incredible Food! The absolute best Prime Rib and the service is absolutely outstanding! Always enjoy coming here. The ambiance is very nice. All of the staff goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service. They take pride in the food they serve and it shows! Never disappoints!

First here not at all what I expected. I had cheese ravioli, good flavor but tough pasta and for the price I do not feel it was worth it. The noise level was very loud, I doubt I will return!!!

The nachos are good. The cocktails are some of the worst I've ever had. The $7 potato dish had 0 seasoning. It was 1 potato + bacon + chives. Kinda sad really. Also, it's reeeeeaaaaally expensive for what you get. I wanted so bad to like this place.

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants! We went for date night with another couple. Between the four of us we tried four appetizers, four different meals, six different drinks, and they were all UH-MAZING. Their deviled eggs were to die for, the oysters were absolutely delish - I could go on and on. It has a great atmosphere although very loud during rush hour so you kind-of have to yell to talk. For all the aforementioned food I think we spent about $95 with tip for both couples so it was pretty reasonable cost wise. I would put it a bit above mid-range price. Service was fantastic even at rush hour.

Good burger, but I went there looking for a ribeye and was extremely displeased to not find one. If you are going to have a name like that make sure you actually have a butcher caliber selection of meats.

Haven't had food that great in a while (charcuterie board, meatloaf, scallops). Highly recommend. Drinks were good as well, and they didn't skimp on the booze. Sal was our server and was very knowledgeable and honest about the menu. Love this place!

If you havent been here yet, you should deffinitly go. They have a great selection of craft cocktails and micro brew beers. Probably the best deviled eggs I've ever put in my mouth. Our server was delightful (sorry long haired blonde guy i cant remeber your name). Patio has excellent seating right across from Talking Stick Arena.

Did you say you'd like an amazing pretzel bun and warm cheese dip hors d'oeuvre? Yum yum! These are melt in your mouth good! You will find many others enjoying the same appetizer.
First Cuban sandwich I've had and it did not disappoint. The salads are savory and well balanced. This is definitely an all time favorite and I've heard the Happy Hour is amazing. We sat at the bar his last time and the cute blonde bar tender was above and beyond in excellent customer service and kept us laughing. . I cannot wait to go back. :)

I would summarize this place as the safe choice. Good variety on menu for food and drink should please all. Service was good.

A busy place on a weekend evening, when we visited, however, we were able to slide into the bar for dinner and drinks. The food was outstanding as well as the service which is surprising when you consider how busy it was that night. I would highly recommend this place for a meal if you are in the downtown Phoenix area. Quite a selection of steaks and other meats, as well as chicken, and fish.

I went here a couple weeks ago and had a couple old fashions and a filet mignon. The steak was absolutely amazing! It was like butter - so tender. I ordered it rare, and unlike many places who would cook it slightly beyond, it was cooked perfectly. The drinks were well made, but they lacked a little something. Granted - the pours were generous, so what may have been lacking was well made up for with a nice strong drink.

The atmosphere was overcrowded when entering the restaurant and waiting to be seated, but once we were seated, it felt much more intimate with more space to breathe. I d definitely return here again.
