I went for a meal at Sopwell with friends last weekend and had a lovely time. It was our first meal out after lock down. Tasty food and great service. Carl our waiter looked after us very well, he was friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. The outdoor seating area is very tranquil. Would highly recommend visiting for a relaxed evening with friends.
Really nice place to stay. The food was endless and so tasty. We had a picnic made by them which was lovely. The rooms were really nice but plugs for the kettle were placed badly. Rooms fully air conditioned. Can just turn up as there is lots they provide in the rooms already. More chargers for electric cars please!

Lovely place. We went for the afternoon delight package, including spa and afternoon tea. The sauna was closed due to covid restrictions, but the pool was really nice. In terms of safety measures, everything was great, in the pool area there were only 2-3 other people and sufficient space to distance ourselves.
The afternoon tea was outside on the patio, there are outdoor heaters too and covering for the rain.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay, I thought the hotel was quite nice and clean.
The spa & swimming facilities were a little busy, perhaps I was expecting more sauna or steam rooms. Swimming pool was really nice.
The veg breakfast was nice and good selection of pastries & drink
No vegetarian desserts for room service though
On my last visit we ate in the conservatory. Service was excellent as was food. We had roast turkey with all the trimmings, all freshly cooked. Lovely upmarket hotel. Only negative for me I'd the fact that customers visiting the spa wander around in towelling robes and slippers, a designated area for them would be preferable for spa customers and other customers
Beautiful afternoon tea with friendly staff and generous helping of finger sandwiches, scones, jam and cream followed by some delicious pastries and tea and/or coffee.
Visited here for the third time last weekend for afternoon tea. As usual I was 100% satisfied with every element. The food was divine, love that you can have your sandwiches and cakes replenished. The staff were amazing, so polite and attentive. The setting of outdoor dining was lovely. A great white tent with colourful splashes of colour in the cushions. Outdoor heaters and just an overall great vibe. Highly recommend Sopwell House for their afternoon tea.

I absolutely love Sopwell House. First of all the history of this building blows me away. Hundreds of years old, the serene beauty, the art, the lush vegetation, the well manicured lawns, the excellent service, the quality of amenities...
I have spent a night so far and look forward to the next two I'll spend here. If I could afford it, I'd come here once a year to chill.
Oh, and the view from my room is so lovely.
The nicest staff, really welcoming and friendly from The front desk to the chefs.
The spa is super clean and luxurious and food in the restaurant amazing.
All in all a wonderful treat with a team who make you feel you re worth it every minute you re there.
