Been there three years ago after a really long travel on the coach. The atmostphere here is quite cool and comfortable as the whole Bokor Hill.
Although it was stated to be 5-star hotel, the facilities did not really meet that standard. However, I wasn't expecting more and the experience of staying here was quite wonderful. The staffs were friendly, the dishes (majorly Chinese cuisine) were quite delicious also.
It was Lunar New Year so the hotel had some special events. Really hope to be here again soon.

Very ugly building with a casino in the middle of ...

Very ugly building with a casino in the middle of a national park and right next to a small temple complex where monks are living.
This was made possible since the business running the Hotel leased the site in a 99yr contract by a dubious-seeming private company. (The same which also ran the Angkor Site from 1999-2016, making profits from a World Heritage.)

These were the facts that can be found by a quick google search.
If you plan to go there, I strongly recommend to research in more depth the organization of the hotel and decide whether you want to contribute to their goals.

Now towards my personal experience with them:
Before I informed myself about the place, we were curious to see it from inside, because there were almost no guests, the huge parking lot was just empty - very bizarre.
Unfortunately, we got stuck in heavy rain and thus made the bad decision to eat in one of the restaurants. My girlfriend ordered a dish that contained minced meat. She found it so disgusting that she didn't eat it. I tried a few spoons - got bacterial gastroenteritis and was feeling miserable the 2 days after...

The ugliest hotel I've seen in my life. It really ruins the beautifil landscape, such a shame. Stayed one night but couldn't sleep because of the karaoke noise going on till really late. You'd think you could get some peace and quiet on top of a mountain but no.
The pool is tiny and freezing cold. No vegetarian options for the food.

I visited this place this summer ,service is really genuine. Everywhere is clean and easy to navigate through . Although what's worse about this hotel is the fact that the food doesn't taste really good . It taste really bad ,I don't recommend it at all . Morning or At night . That includes the buffet the ice cream stand and the coffee too . Please fix this for future tourists . Wish you best of luck .

The flowe park is beautiful but sad for the Hotel building which is not Khmer Archeticture design, is more like vietnamese design even inside the room. Food buffets are great with nice service. They have play groung where you neex to pay 2200Riel for a kid , vdo game with coin, spa, sky bar, Chumpa coffee, live music... Cloud catching ...this is why they named here Heaven ( Thansur ) Hotel .

I would have rated it 4 but because of the vegetables r not clean in Lotus restaurant particularly the herb for putting in bread. Also, we had problem when using the room key. The staff should have explained clearly if the card was produced incorrectly. Moreover, the swimming pool is so tiny. Other than that, I enjoy staying there. It's good for kids too cos they got playground and games, but u have to pay.

Am with my Kawasaki BOSS on the second day in the morning very early 40km up the super road. Was at breakfast at half past eight. Lucky to get another seat. At eight o'clock it was almost empty and above all quiet. The Chinese were gone. It would certainly be worthwhile with a rental bike to drive yourself. Groups are just "pushed through" everywhere. As everywhere, groups serve only the merit of the organizer. At best, that's what I do when I'm old and awkward. uli from Berlin

One of the strangest places I've ever been. The hotel and parking lot are absolutely enormous, but there were only about three cars parked there. The interior is fancy, but very 1970s decor feeling.

I stayed at the Thansur with my wife and parents, and we were not disappointed. Coming from the USA, I see this place as a big value for the modest price. The hotel is gigantic, unusual, and ought to be a lot of fun for any western visitor. The pleasant and professional staff are a highlight. They greeted us at check-in with some delicious passion fruit juice and saw to our every need. The front office manager, Mr. Samoch, upgraded my wife and I to a suite for free. Our bedrooms were immaculately clean, with huge and comfortable beds. There was wonderful food and live music at night. We went up to the hotel on rental scooters, so we were able to explore the Bokor Mountain station plus a mountain road to a Buddhist shrine. The history of this area goes back further than the colonial area, and the mountaintop has a surprisingly storied past. I highly recommend this hotel to the adventurous and inquisitive traveler.
