I stayed at the Thansur with my wife and parents, and we were not disappointed. Coming from the USA, I see this place as a big value for the modest price. The hotel is gigantic, unusual, and ought to be a lot of fun for any western visitor. The pleasant and professional staff are a highlight. They greeted us at check-in with some delicious passion fruit juice and saw to our every need. The front office manager, Mr. Samoch, upgraded my wife and I to a suite for free. Our bedrooms were immaculately clean, with huge and comfortable beds. There was wonderful food and live music at night. We went up to the hotel on rental scooters, so we were able to explore the Bokor Mountain station plus a mountain road to a Buddhist shrine. The history of this area goes back further than the colonial area, and the mountaintop has a surprisingly storied past. I highly recommend this hotel to the adventurous and inquisitive traveler.
