Made a visit to ER Sunday evening, it was packed. Staff worked quickly and efficiently with a big smile on their faces to get us back. We were greeted promptly upon entering ER. Everyone was polite and friendly from the admissions clerk to the discharge clerk. Labs were drawn after a few tries, I was dehydrated, CT performed quickly and CXR with little effort on my part. Everyone was great. Thanks for making my visit memorable.
Sandra was my nurse when I was there in the ER on 7/5/21, she was absolutely amazing, such a great personality, She is my new favorite! She is nice & sweet, but so sassy & fun, she definitely surprised me with what she did & how her care compared to how I've been taken care of on visits to the ER in the past with my blood disorder. You can tell she does her job because she loves it. She kept me laughing during a very stressful time for me, but a busy time for her, I know how easy it is to not be in the best mood under the kind of pressure these nurses are under, and she handles it like a champ!
Someone take her out for a greasy burger & a stout ale!
If you see this Sandra, keep up the good work sister, you're killin it!
Everyone of my Doctors and the great team of nurses as well as the pulmonary team, just Everyone that was involved with taking care of me. I want to say Thank you and God bless each one of you. You took the best care of me and you are all awesome!
I was very disappointed with my stay here. The nurses were not compassionate in the slightest, did the bare minimum, and did not take initiative in any area. I had emergency abdominal surgery, struggled with a lot of nausea. The nurses did not round on me or check on me even every couple of hours, it would be a couple hours before I even saw my nurse after shift change, they didn t offer to call the doctor when certain medications weren t working, nor did they even do the basics like pull my blanket up, which obviously would ve been difficult right after abdominal surgery. There was no communication about lab results or tests or discharge. I would definitely go someplace else if you re wanting a more compassionate and comfortable stay during a difficult time.
Everyone I encountered for my procedure was friendly and helpful. Even in these trying times with COVID restrictions and limited resources I was made to feel comfortable and in good hands.
The theme to this review ADL (Activities of Daily Living).
My father was admitted with COVID and during his 23 day stay, did not receive the 4+ star rating that I have seen here. Over the course of 23 days he received 3 showers, however I am not sure what the hygiene protocol is for COVID patients, so maybe this is par for the course. He was never checked for skin breakdown (had he been showered, staff would have checked the skin), never rolled him q2h (every two hours) which is necessary for those non-mobile for various medical reasons (age playing a factor as well).
The staff misdiagnosed his oral thrush, even though he stated he thought he had thrush, they treated him for dry mouth due to oxygen intake and instructed for him to drink more water. After three days, it was determined he had oral thrush, but by this point the sores in his mouth made it difficult to eat or drink. This has carried over, post discharge.
On day 24, he showed up at Carrus Specialty Hospital for rehabilitation with decubitus Ulcers
(bed sores). This was relayed to us by the attending physician (fun).
For a 77 year old veteran of the armed forces, with several pre-existing conditions, who battled COVID and Pneumonia for 23 days, it s shameful he had to battle without ADLs or simple care with compassion as well.
The final insult to literal injury, came from the thoughtful billing department who harangued him, incessantly, to pay his bill while he was on the ICU step down unit (most fun).
I wish I could post a 4+ star rating, I truly do. At this point, I hope I never get admitted here. Just my $0.02
ER staff were professional and took time to hear my concerns! Nurse, X-ray tech and Doctor were kind and took great to test for Covid! Thank you TMC ER! My 2nd visit in 4 months.
I have been going to Texoma Medical Center for 8 years and have been happy with their excellent care. I have found the doctors and nurses to be caring and competent in their field. Staff are always helpful and friendly.
I went to tmc yesterday. It was crowded and there were only 2 doctors to see all the patients. A lot of people had the flu. If I had known they were so busy I would have gone to the er clinic on Morton. I told them I had fallen twice and thought I had a uti. Maybe they didn't hear the uti part. When I asked for a urinalysis, people got upset and accused me of being selfish and thinking I was better than other people. I had a uti and that's why I fell. The dr was nice enough to send in a prescription to my pharmacy. I know they are overworked and full up with covid, but we can still be civil to one another and treat each other with respect and dignity.
