As a Veteran, I am very disappointed with how I have been treated. Not that I should deserve better treatment however, the office of admissions has had the required documents of mine for over 5 days and have still not processed the removal of the hold on my account. Therefore, I am unable to register for summer courses which are now filled, therefore I will now not be paid. This is what I live off of...the money the VA pays me for attending school. Not to mention I've been on hold on the phone for over an hour. NOT VETERAN FRIENDLY, POOR BUSINESS.

Haven't attended yet, but the counselor I had to talk to about my major and minor was extremely rude. To be an adviser/ counselor you would think she'd be trained in patience and compassion. Those were not shown, AT ALL. She was extremely rude. I was 5 mins late to my appointment because I had trouble finding where I needed to be. She said I needed to come previous to know where i was suppose to go. i could tell she had other appointments but she was like having a panic attack instead of just taking a deep breath and not be frustrated with me. She was extremely rude. I ended up leaving and just came back another day to make sure I wouldn't have to have an encounter with this women again. She is my assigned adviser but i refuse to talk to her ever again because of how rude and uncomfortable she made me feel. She honestly made me not excited to attend but having talked to another adviser and attending the arise dinner. I'm excited to start but thought i should warn other future students if you just make it through the first encounter I'm sure it gets better, beautiful campus.

--- Update 2 years later---
I graduated, and loved this University. I moved my 2 stars to 4 because I still refused to ever see my advisor again, also in my opinion I thought the Mays Center faculty were really rude. However I graduated with my Psychology of Science degree and loved every single one of my professors. I did take some electives with other professors and there was not one I did not like. The community there was great. I think the individuals that actually teach you, really care about your education and give you everything you need to succeed. The president of the University is great and very involved, however most of the people coordinating really need to adjust their attitudes. Also I made lots of friends at this University; the people that attend are great and open to help or study with you, if you are willing to start the conversation.

I came to here for a degree in Cyber Security after already receiving a degree from UTSA in another field. I am also a veteran and was now using VocRehab because almost all of GI bill had been used at UTSA. I really like how the BAAS program worked here as opposed to the UTSA BA program. All my credits transferred with the exception of 1 class, business communication which was a requirement to be taken at TAMUSA. I started in spring 2018 and just graduated yesterday for a completion in fall 2019. I had no issues getting my classes because as a Vet I have priority registration and the payment paperwork was never an issue coming from the VA. I tend to have regime to know when is the earliest date something can be submitted and always try to make that happen. I do this to make sure any issues will be realized as soon as possible. Getting back to school I applied for a summer internship for a cybersecurity analyst position and have been working there ever since and have already received my job offer to start full time upon my graduation. I have also received multiple job offers from my LinkedIn network which I highly and I mean highly recommend. Networking especially in Cybersecurity can lead to phenomenal opportunities. The whole point is this is a great place to get a quality education. I have read the overly negative reviews and have realized from the grammar used those people should get their start at a community college. As for the other people that constantly blame other for their own problems there will always be those people we all know them.

So my friend is trying to go to TAMU this fall. She called the administration office for 2 days and they never answered her. When she called again some lady finally answered and told her she has to drop off her unofficial transcript (since she is still going to summer classes) in person. On the day she went to go drop it off i had gone with her and she was one the phone trying to reach them once again to make sure they would accept the unofficial transcript before we made the 30 minute drive, but they never answered. Once we arrived to the administration office it was empty beside the people working there. When we reach the desk one of the workers had the decency saying "watch out a student with questions" as we approached. My friend started talking to this lady about the transcript and the lady seemed uninterested in what my friend was saying. Finally she told us that she wasn't accepting the unofficial transcript and just to email or drop it off in person the official transcript before August 5. In other words the administration workers are unprofessional and you can tell they don't like their job so if you have any questions for them just go to the school directly. In other words expect having a hard time with them.

This is my first semester here and I would say go SOMEWHERE ELSE!... Not a very diverse school at all!.......ive experienced racism and profiling from both students AND EVEN A PROFESSOR, who referred to me as "colored"
Not to mention its a struggle paying almost 6k a semester in tuition and getting ZERO financial aide!!!!!!
THIS SCHOOL SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not to mention its only 2 buildings and a few trailers outback that actually have classrooms in them......this is pretty much an overpriced community college!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only after a year I managed to earn my bachelors degree. Although, I did earn three degrees with the Alamo Colleges over the period of two years and one semester. Overall, great staff and educators who work with you to achieve your goals. The educators are very insightful and only you can fail yourself. If I could do it all over again TAMUSA all the way!! Veteran friendly university and in the VA office who are veteran's themselves.

I went to this school in 2010. It was in a small building with trailers. Yes, I did say trailers for classes and books. Coming from the Northern part of the US where Universities and colleges are lush green with sprawling trendy campuses,it was different. The professor though were great. Barbara Hewitt, Dr Coleman, & Ron Sweet did a particular good job teaching. Tuition was sparsely amazing. Going to The University of Michigan was out of my pocket book. I heard the new campus is great. Thanks faculty and staff at Texas A&M.

Texas A&M University-San Antonio is an ideal campus for first generation college students because of the school s mentorship program, academic counselors, job fairs, and seminars. The professors are very supportive and encouraging. The campus amenities are very luxurious, for example the gourmet cafeteria, high-tech dorms, convenient campus bookstore, outdoor patio furniture, campus Starbucks, and private study rooms. I highly recommend taking a docent guided tour of the campus and dorms.

Small Class sizes and the professors are easy to contact, campus is still being built so a lot of the services and sports at other universities are not available yet. The construction really doesn't get in the way either so its not bothersome at all. Great campus and the food is what you expect of a short order cafe.

First thing I have to say is the professors here are AMAZING. They care about their students and make us feel very welcomed! As far as the staff not so much. This campus is still growing and you can tell there is a lot of work that still needs to be done. My experience here was pretty good. I liked how laid back it was. It's more of a commuter school and not a place to just hang out. They don't have much school clubs and little is around there, but give it time and it will be a great University one day. This school is fairly small, but overall the experience is very basic which I kinda like. Personally, more of a transfer school. I would not go here to get my basics its not there yet to be that big University that everyone wants it to be.

Lovely campus... Definitely somewhere i would send my daughter off to, once she's of age... Professors are generally engaged in student growth and development... Not to mention, every student gets a "Life Coach", to keep you on track for graduation...

Horrible staff, they just give transfer students the run around. The admissions process takes over 3 weeks! I called and they refused to let me speak to anyone in the admissions department. I was told to email which I did and have yet to hear from anyone! This is an awful way to handle incoming students.

I USED to be so proud to call TAMUSA my school but all that changed when i was FORCED to register elsewhere because of the whole TSI thing. We students who could not pass our TSI test were told that they were going to be offering remidial classes and that we would have till the end of spring 2019 to complete the tsi/ pass the remdial class. Unfortunately i failed my class for the fall 2018 semester, next thing i know i get an email from Ms. Dewitt (tsi office) saying that i was going to be dropped for the spring 2019 semester from all my classes because i failed the remidial class!!! We signed a contract a freaking contract saying we had till the spring 2019 semester to pass, not fall 2018!! In which they won't even give me a copy of the contract. I was forced to register at PAC( or any other alamo colleges of my choice) just so i can take the remidal class! I called my success coach John De La Rosa AND i even emailed Dr. Mahan and not one of them called me back or anything! I felt like they could care less. And to make matters worse TAMUSA did NOT pay PAC for the remidial class and alamo colleges almost screwed me out of $500 ( saying i owed them on my account) because of TAMUSA, since they did not pay PAC even though they took it out of my finanicial aid! I almost had to wait until fall 2019 to be able to take classes at PAC because of all these holds on my account Because of TAMUSA!! Luckily someone from PAC had the kind heart to help me out before i went insane! And TAMUSA barely payed my account off months later! Now i have friends who go to TAMUSA this semester and iam hearing they get to stay still even though the failed their remidial classes this semester. I think this is unfair TAMUSA they should not be able to retake the class with yall since like myself many other students could not stay!! I went through hell and back trying to take these classes so i can take my college algebra class. Yall are letting these underage Dual credit high school students take over my place at TAMUSA when i was there first and i actually am college aged, all because i barely failed my math remedial class!!

I want to know WHY no one has cared to call me back on this situation and i NEVER got an apology. Y'all broke yalls contract with me and several other students and i will not let this go!! I want answers!!!

Since I dont qualify for financial aid and pay out of pocket by far this university has best tuition, almost half of UTSA yearly tuition and I can complete my degree. For me its great and transfer advisor was right on answering my questions, Ms. Eaker she is onto of it!! The only issue is I wish she could have been my permanent advisor, but since she is only a transfer advisor, I needed to get with my degree advisor and theres only 1 advisor for 3 separate departments so it is hard getting a hold of her:((( Other than that I try to handle my school questions during off peak times, this saves a headache.

Well this where I work so of course it gets 5 stars but I am looking for a dispatching or recruiter position and in the meantime I will probably show up here a lot. The people are great staff, the students are focused. If anyone is looking at picking schools, it would be such a tragedy if you didn't at least visit the campus.

I've attended 3 different schools (including A&M-CC) and this one is by FAR the worst. This is a FOR PROFIT school. You will run into problems at every turn because this school does not know how to staff. Whether it be with transcripts, financial aid, registration, work studies, you name it. One big headache. They also charge more for "student fees" than I've seen at any other school. At times even more than tuition. I have raised concern about this many times due to the fact that there is no record of what these fees fund. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

**Forgot to add that you will constantly be harassed by campus police. Also having to pay for parking when there's little to no parking close to the campus for students while the employee lot is half full is ridiculous.

Tuition is low, family-friendly environment, and small class sizes! On top of that the people are very nice and the professors are more than willing to help you in anything related academically and the student body itself is amazing. Best decision I ve ever made!

Texas A & M has an amazing staff that makes the student to be feel welcome, educated on the system, and professionally ready for numerous questions. The diversity of both, main campus and Brooks is excellent with students of all ages and cultures pleasant and focused.

I find the well rounded Doctoral level instructors personable and focused to bring our best out as we learn to ask questions, construct critical thinking papers, show timeliness and teamwork ethics, participate in classrooms with mutual respect for our class teammates, and work with steadfast dedication. The classes are very diverse with times and types of classes to enroll, so no schedule of an individual will be left out. The cost is greatly affordable and the quality of education is steeped richly in the A & M culture right here in San Antonio, finally.

The main campus is new and rich in San Antonio culture and dignified pride. The libraries are state of art with ready to serve the student librarians and an instant live online feed for answers when we are not in the library.

The bookstore hosts our new campus styles with great prices and lots to choose from to make us ready to be a welcome part of Texas A & M San Antonio.

No question goes unanswered and if an employee does not have an answer, he or she is quick to find out the answer.

Having Texas A & M on San Antonio soil is a great gift to all who seek out the offered disciplines of education.

We all are just one step away from our goals, and once that step is taken at Texas A & M,San Antonio, we are on our way to fulfilling life goals.

I have been at this University for 2 semesters and I have had a great experience thus far. Every Professor I have had had been very attentive to any question or concern I have had that particular course.

Some of the artwork that can be found throughout the University is outstanding. From oil on canvas, embroidery work, and statues are first class. If you happen to visit the campus, do yourself a favor and visit every building just to get a glance at the artwork.

The campus continues to grow at a rapid rate but they have been able to manage their growth very well. At the current time, it feels like you're in the outskirts of town, but I'm sure and the next 10 to 20 years it will be surrounded by commerce.

This is a university that demands excellence from its students which is good. What makes it great is the professors are more than willing to work with you and guide you to help you achieve that excellence. Furthermore, the administration are all on the same page. AMAZING! This is why I still attend A&M SA. Great challenges, better mentors, awesome college!

I received my BA here and am continuing with my MA. The English staff is amazing!! Because I am a non-traditional student I have had to face difficulties with coordinating life and school, the staff here made and continue to make my success their priority as they guide and assist me when necessary. No other university will offer the one on one that you will get here. The administration offices have messed up at times but always correct the issues. I now have my adult kids committed to getting their education here!!

Well, first, let me start of by saying, I took off from work to get things siuated with an advisor which could have clearly been done over the phone. However, I got there, met with a Bis adviser, im an (English Major) by the way. He informed me that he couldnt help me once I told him what my major was. He then brought in an English advisor and informed me that I could E-Mail her to get an appointment as if I have all the time in the world. Keep in mind, I took time off from work for this. Then, the English advisor tole me "English program only has after noon classes and some evening classes. Because they do not work like the Biss Majors." First of all, that was rude, second of all, the school should consider all majors being working a adults, or parents. This has made things beyond difficult for me to consider taking courses here. I am a full time worker, single mother, trying to get my education like the rest of these folks. Yet, my major is not considered for evening classes because "I do not work like the bis majors". This school should really consider other majors as working individuals or parents.

As a Non-traditional student who is from an Aggie Family, this entire experience has been a major let down. This campus has a great heritage to draw from, but is failing to take advantage of it. My advisor-while wearing her badge with Texas A&M on it-advised me that there was no room for Tradition and obviously me since she kept insisting on my going to University of Phoenix! My 2nd advisor offered to help create a degree plan for me that would meet my requirements for a degree plan they don't have. Told me I had to have the 2 classes I'm taking, only to find out I don't need either! They want and need enrollment up and tuition coming in. If you don't look at the name and go across 16 and compare, that's a better idea of what this school is. This school is the red-headed stepchild of the red-headed stepchild...Texas A&M University Kingsville at San Antonio...when you can't get in to Taco Tech(A&I nickname). Spend your money at Alamo Colleges then go to College Station.

I wanted to apply for a program I searched on the page and had information about it.
I send an information to the staff the I wanted to send my documents to an e-mail
and they told me the program didn't exist and that they couldn't help me look for another university.
Then I send them the link of the program and got embarrassed. But I think I would expect more of this University, they need to look for a nicer staff. If they don't they will scare the people that want to apply away.

This university treats their students very badly. I had my professors scream at me in front of the class for no reason. They discriminated against me because of my eye color and put me through, many painful times at this campus. They intentionally try to make their students sick here. I wish this place would shut down.

This has been my first full semester with TAMUSA (Summer semester) and I'm sad to say it's been a horrible experience. My advisor continues to give me wrong information when I meet with her, the financial aid office ALWAYS miss informs me and not to mention just about all of the people in that office with the exception of the people at the front desk are extremely rude! I was pretty excited starting back at school and being that it's a beautiful campus, it's a huge disappointment with how poorly trained/ unknowlegdeable each staff member I've come in contact here is with the exception of very few. ALSO.. you dont get a selection of professors for each class your registering for here, theres at most maybeee 2 to choose from and that's if you get lucky so if they have a bad rate my professor score, goodluck!
