They boast about being the only island university ...

They boast about being the only island university in the nation who in the world is stupid enough to put a continuously growing institution, such as a university, on a place with no potential for expansion?! Then, the parking permits are ridiculously expensive, there's no football, the mascot is a joke, no free refills for drinks in the UC, smells like a giant litter box bc of the insane cat population, etc. This place is a joke. I wish it was possible to remain at Texas A&M University- Kingsville. I seriously recommend TAMUK over this place any day.

Expensive to attend and a menagerie of problems especialky compared to a community college. First off parking is attrocius and if you can't afford the absurd pass for the semester (regardless of which pass it is) you run the risk of a ticket and depending on how often you have to park on campus and unlucky you are can add up really quickly. The online system is as unintuitive as it comes and is difficult to find clubs or organizations without navigating it. I understand why the facilities are spread out the way they are but it honestly feels like there is NO excuse for why the tennis courts are so far off from the campus. Also not sure if its my particular classes but ive had 2 issues already where one teacher was barely assigned a class the day before classes started and another class had a teachwr leave it to be replaved by a teacher who has a huge workload already. The library resources are borderline laughable in having such a small text selection compared to Del Mar college, a mere 2 year community college, and has no way to accommodate students who have more forewarning to needs for private testing then a simple first come first serve basis, whike again, Del Mar has a whole building dedicated to private testing. For being a University, this place could learn a lot from the local 2 year college.

I love how the school was near the water. It was quite redeeming. There are some fairly slow people that work at the school, but there are some really amazing people as well. I got my graduate degree from here and am so thankful for the time I spent here. I would go back, but I sure wouldn't live at Miramar Apartments. They were a nightmare.

I am a new student coming in Fall 13 and I was very impressed by the campus. I would have given it 5 stars but I couldn't do to their lack of classes offered in the evenings, online and on the weekend. I am a non-traditional student and it would be nice to be able to take classes at different times.

No school spirit, no sense of community, no family involvement, non-welcoming atmosphere, and average professors. Dining hall food is edible but not good. If you just want to get a degree and get out asap then this is the school for you.

This is the absolute worst school. I really don't understand how it has so many good ratings. The "professors" don't know how to teach and expect way too much for general classes, the advisors are awful and rarely ever get back to you and are NOT a help at all when it comes to picking the right classes, the parking is THE WORST - they just recently replaced a huge parking lot for ANOTHER building so parking is EVEN WORSE NOW and they do nothing about it and STILL expect you to pay $150-400 a SEMESTER for parking that you're not even guaranteed to get. I had a problem with one of my professors, so I reported it and they ended up calling me a liar and picking his side even though I had proof of what was going on and I had several students back me up. I ended up reporting it to the dean, which ended up a dead end because I made appointment with him which conveniently kept getting rescheduled - so needless to say they did everything they could to hide what happened with that professor. I only had two years left of school when I transferred here, now it's two years later and somehow I have three years left. This is my last semester at this school and I could be more happy (I got lucky with my ONE class that I'm taking this semester in Evolution with Dr. John Scarpa, best professor there is here), I ended up changing my major and now I only have a year left of school - no thanks to TAMUCC which ended up being a HUGE waste of time. I would NOT recommend moving here. Also, Corpus sucks. I didn't grow up near this city, but I did visit a few times before I moved out here and I actually really enjoyed it but now that I've lived here for two years I wouldn't recommend to anyone moving out here. Finding a job is almost impossible because they either expect you to have 5-10 years experience in literally everything, or they don't wanna work with your school schedule even though they said they would. This city is just for people who are okay with being broke for the rest of their lives making only minimum wage or at most, $10/hour. Worst two years of my life here. Wish I never moved from Huntsville.

Great campus, was always a relaxed atmosphere and very clean around campus. My friends and I loved the views the campus had to offer with the bay right outside. I loved my walks around, the air was breezy and you really felt like it was the "islander life". I enjoyed my time attending TAMUCC and would recommend this campus to other students. I took a lot of great art classes there and learned a lot.

You'd be better off watching free videos about business than attending the college of business at this university. I would rather be on a plane for 5 days, stuck between a person who perpetually slurps soup and a person drenched in cologne than attend this school a single day beyond what I'm required to. This is a great place if you want to become an insurance salesman in Corpus for the rest of your life.

This is my university where I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. They have caring professors who truly have a passion for what they do. The university has continued do grow so much since I last attended including more majors, more buildings, a parking garage, and a rapidly increasing enrollment. The student body has even started establishing traditions for future students. I'm sure there are more great things to come!

This school is definitely worth it. I have been here for 3 years and the professors are great and they will try to work with you. Its not too big and its not to small either. There are tons of great opportunities here at TAMU-CC. I do advise that you should look at Rate My Professor because that is how I've been able to pick the best professors for my major.

Somebody using my name published a disrespectful and offensive comment towards this University. I'm the real Rodrigo Salinas and I' a proud alumni of their Graduate program. Every class I attended had an amazing teacher with real life experience in the field of Education, and they did prepare me for the teaching profession which I truly treasure and respect. In God we trust!

Would never recommend. Would recommend Del Mar waayyy over A&M! My husband is a good student, and maybe he is just unlucky in the professor's he gets, but A&M really need to get their sheet together. Some professor's want to make you pay $30 extra for an APP that you'll likely NEVER USE AGAIN. And what's with the "TA's" teaching the labs? Professor's should be teaching the labs and the "teacher's assistant"... ASSISTING. I suppose it wouldn't be too bad, BUT they never seem to be on the same track, so they'd be teaching a lab that doesn't go along with what you've learned in lecture.
Also A&M's parking is just ridiculous. I have so many other things I could say and I've heard, and I'm sure a lot of other people do too, but I digress.
A&M just seems like it wants to suck the money out of you without giving the best value you can get, which is a major disappointment. Hopefully it gets better or is better for others.
Maybe I'm just being salty, but seriously, check out other options before this University.

Update: A&M still sucks. Their VA and registrar's office need to get things right. My husband's graduation will be put back because they don't know how to do their job.

Read all the other 1 star reviews they're true/honest and there is a reason they have more likes than any 3-5 star review.

hese apts are amazing. Very clean, quiet, affordable and just a good place to have my family in. Maintenance man George is always on top of things and fixes everything! But the real reason I moved here was because of the manager Jackie. She is very nice, caring and friendly. She cares about her residents and just doesn't brush you off. She listens and gets what I need done. She's the best!

The classes that are offered online are good, but the administration (specifically veterans affairs) can be confusing and an awful experience. My husband is active duty and we travel so I am enrolled online. The VA office is not clear about their deadlines for priority processing, and when I asked the question about where to look; I was forwarded to the signs around campus and Facebook. It is a little odd that they do not post their deadlines on their website. If you are unclear about the deadlines you should call them as they do not post pertinent information to their website. Also, I suggested that they should post these deadline to the Veteran Affairs main page, and have been completely ignored. Hopefully Sam Houston State will start offering more GIS classes online and I can transfer until then I am stuck dealing with them.

Professors are rude and have a sense of entitlement. Most read off a power point or share their personal stories. No one will go out of their way to help you, adviser meetings are only 30 minutes which is not enough to get anything done. The UC smells like sewage all the time. Parking is so expensive and its per semester. I had a better experience at community college. I am so deeply disappointed in this school. Money is spent bringing up their reputation and updating the campus but they lack in actual interaction with students. This is not a prestigious school, if you don't want to pursue a career in nursing (which is the only major I've heard good things about) perhaps consider other universities.

I received my undergraduate degree ('07) and will complete my graduate degree this May ('15) from A&M Corpus. The undergraduate Biology program was excellent. The MBA program is good as well. I will be attending dental school in Houston in the fall and feel that this school helped to prepare me for success in a professional school. My wife graduated from the nursing program at TAMU-CC and it was a top notch program. The HPAC is fantastic if you are interested in going to medical, dental or another professional school.

I have been in the Army for over 15 years and have been very pleased with the VA here on campus. During my undergraduate time frame (01-07... yeah, I know, took me a while) the VA was not so helpful, but after returning to TAMU-CC for my graduate degree (13-15) the VA took a major turn for the better.

I would give the school a 4.5 star rating if possible due to minor complaints, the biggest being the parking situation. Parking in the evening for grad students is a piece of cake, but during the school day parking can get pretty bad. The amount of students on campus has increased dramatically since my undergraduate time here.

If you are looking for a nice university in a mid-sized city then TAMU-CC is for you. If you like the beach and flip-flops TAMU-CC is for you. If you like wide open parking next to the building you have class at then you may want to look elsewhere.

The college is great if you are NOT a computer science major. They had 1 guy that was brilliant in cyber security teaching the major and he quit because of dumb politics by the dean Dr. King. You're forced to take a class called Pro Skills that serves no purpose other than forcing you to attend the career fair. And worst of all, THEY ENDED THE GAME PROGRAMMING DEGREE with no reasoning or announcement. DO NOT COME HERE FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE! Dr. Scott King and Dr. Ajay Katangur will screw you over.

Amazing university with an incredible nursing program. Lots of extracurricular activities to participate in including clubs, on campus events, tailgating, volunteer work, and more. Friendly students and great staff. Campus has assorted eating venues and places to sit. Lots of places to study including the library, UC, quiet sections, outdoor areas, etc. Walking trail located behind and near the university. Beautiful campus with gulf coast and view of the water directly in front of it.
