Terre Haute Police Department Review

I had a very bad experience with one of these guys, rude and mean. They think if they wear badge and uniform they can do whatever they want.

Not worth calling! When my ex had kept my things and title for 6 months i called they never came and left me waiting. I called 2 times about my moped being stolen they said if i didnt have the title they couldnt do anything but id have it if they showed up when i called them! Our car was broken into last christmas the officer said it was an isolated incident and had to be someone we knew and it was on the news that day that many were broken into! A woman was also murdered in her house right down the road just days after..our lawn mower was stolen about a month or so ago and they told us straight up that unless we had the box it came in it didnt matter if we saw them with it and filing a report was a waste of time! we ask for someone to drive by and patrol every now and then they say they dont have the resources for that.. But they have the resources to give a $50 ticket if we are parked the wrong way and to pull over semis and drivers..seems they dont have the resources to do anything that isnt profitable to them.. Saw 2 guys peeking into the neibors window today with bags in their hands. Didnt even bother calling because chances are they wouldnt have the resources for that either..

Amazing detectives but with the new jail, new station and all the new vehicles . I lost some respect for the officer who gave me a parking ticket. I parked backwards because I was super tired . Been there over a year no a single officer has ever tickets vehicles at 3:48 in the morning. Sad that the department steals from the poor to pay for stuff the mayor is at fault for. I support our officers but petty tickets I don't it's stealing from already struggling families. Say no to the new jail and station.

It took 3+ weeks for someone to START to open my hit and run case on my car. It's still not finished yet.

Fully support officers but they have officers patrolling the highways instead of state troopers. What a joke. Gave me a ticket for going 75 in a 65 and it literally just switched from 70 to 65. Money grab

Any interaction I've had with THPD has been pathetic.

Worse ever...Brentlinger needs to be back in office....these juniors are hotheads don't know what they are doing....

I called 5 times, the phone rang and rang, no one ever answered.

This department is a joke, train your officers better.

Horrible experience. They refuse to do anything about stolen items, after insinuating I stole my own stuff!!!

Very nice officers and helped a friend get clean from drugs... They are nice to everyone and would do anything for anyone if they could... Keep it rockin terre haute police! 5 star!

I've called 4 times trying to report that my PS3 was stolen and so far nobody wants to answer the phone still almost an hour later

I called two times to report that we had been involved in a car crash and they left me sitting for almost a half an hour and I was hung up on both times. Don't waste the time calling, just call the Sheriff's department, they went through way faster.

Poor customer service, but very good at arresting perpetrators.
