PLEASE LOOK BEFORE BOOKING THIS PLACE!!! Shocking!...

PLEASE LOOK BEFORE BOOKING THIS PLACE!!! Shocking!!! First when we walked into the room the carpet was filthy, bathroom was dirty, stains on base of bed and very outdated decor. We only had half a curtain and that only half fell off, called the reception and she said someone will come up to fix it and no one did. All night all we heard was cars racing in the streets and room next door shouting. We had to sleep with no curtains because the maintanence wasn't there, asked in the morning and we changed rooms. The new room they gave us had a broken bath, we had to change rooms for the second time which is not right!! No air con in the rooms and if we kept the window open we could hear the traffic, also the latch on window was broken so someone could easily fall down to the street. No one came to clean our rooms even though we asked, very dirty hotel.

Can only comnent on the pool and changing rooms as we haven't used any other facilities.

Pool is lovely! Changing rooms would benefit from a clothes spinner/wringer and a few lockers inside the family changing room would be brilliant.

A queue system for using the Jacuzzi would be good too as during our, almost 3 hour visit, the same guys hogged the Jacuzzi the whole time!

Staff were lovely and plenty of parking.

Ok so this Hotel us having a re-furb at the moment in the dining room so the service is a little on the slow side. Room, well I'm going to say that it was what you would expect of a Budget Hotel pre-covid. I doubt they have changed the cleaning operations during Coivid because the tea caddy was really ingrained with tea splashes. The decor is a bit of the drab side, you know oppulent when first laid but not maintained/thoroughly cleaned. The carpet in our room was; erm used but not as dirty as described in another review. Comments about the tea trays in other reviews are correct but this is because they are bamboo and once bamboo us stained it needs sanding down and retreating. I cleaned ours with hand sanitiser and tissue and ok it was grubby. Telly was Ok. Staff- well couldn't have been more pleasant. They gave a great team there who I am assuming are working under some financial constraints.
Food quality - pretty good really. Breakfast n our first morning was as another quest said 'a bit faulty towers' but on the second morning was running much more smoothly.

Room was freezing. Turned the heater on but little heat came out. Was hungry and tired so decided to have the chicken tikka which was disgusting didn't even taste like chicken tikka only nice bit was the nan bread. The noise from the traffic was so loud hardly slept. Could hear the people in the next room making noise. Told the receptionist when i was checking out and all she could say was sorry the traffic is loud. Won't be staying there again.

Called in for a drink with some friends who were staying there. Very nice hotel. Bar staff appeared to be poorly trained. Two of them were unable to change the soft drinks when the pump ran out, then one guy took five minutes to find a bottle opener! Ho hum

I'll get the good out of the way, the room is a decent size, they don't ration the tea and coffee, there's an iron in the room and the room felt clean.

That's where the good ends

Arrived at 18:35 no one on reception, a helpful signed proclaimed they would be back in a few minutes. When the chap did return he told me I should have called him. I explained I was only checking in and that didnt seem to meet the criteria of urgent listed on the notice for reasons to call. But that's ok I don't mind being told off for waiting.

I asked if I could get something to eat as it had been a long day. "I'm sorry we have already finished" is what I was told. "Finished what?" I replied ""dinners" I was told

It's 18:38 and their ability to serve dinners has been stopped.

Later I ordered Nandos, while I was waiting for it to arrive I asked about breakfast. I was told they are doing breakfast at 9am as they had only just reopened. I said that wasn't a problem as I had a late start the next day. I enquired about allergies as I'm a coleiac and was told he was fairly sure the sausages were gluten free, but not the hash browns, wasn't sure about the beans, egg "I suppose" but he'd have to check.

I said thats ok I was sure I could get enough of the things available to make it worth while. I explained I had a very long day the next day so was looking forward to a big breakfast as I wouldn't get a chance to stop to eat for the rest of the day.

My Nandos arrived and I went back to my room.

Next morning 9am I went to reception to ask where I had to go for breakfast and was told it was too late as orders had already been made. I asked what she meant, and was told that breakfasts were served in the rooms and had to be preordered and pre paid for.

So as you can imagine not being told that the night before by the incompetent **** on the front desk with his away sign I got a little irked and asked for more info. Why wasn't I told this? "Oh he should have told you" yes I imagine he should have but he didn't. So you have no restaurant, no information about early closures on your website no signs in the hotel telling people it's room service only no warnings nothing?

This has been without a doubt the worst hotel experience I've had. I'm in hotels all the time and usually try to stick to chains as they know what they are doing. This lot couldn't organise a **** up in a brewery.

So once you are done being treated like cattle you start to be less forgiving about other things. Carpet looks like it's been bleached, your cups and glasses are given a quick rinse in the bathroom sink, I know this is standard practice in normal times but we are in a global pandemic, they should be getting washed properly.

Spoon had something stuck to it showing poor cleaning skills. Room is very dated, think travel lodge 10 years ago. There is zero air conditioning in the rooms so expect condensation and lots of it. Shower curtain appears clean but is starting to grey at the bottom showing the beginnings of mould, again just highlighting lack deep of cleaning during a pandemic. Bedroom itself felt clean, no sticky surfaces or marks.

I had 100 more jobs in the Midlands over the next 6 months. That means 50 more stays in hotels. Not one of them will be in this hotel.

I registered in the gym for a few months. The facilities were good. The spa pool was not working for few times and it took them time to fix it every time it broke and the light in the sauna wasn't working for couple of times as well. However, the staff are really nice though and helpful.

Cost adequate to quality. Hotel is aged, would need some refreshing. No power supply in the reasonable reach to bed. To use your phone and charge at onxe when laying on the bed you need at least 3m cable. Towels...only small ones provided. 1 roll of toilet paper (idk why cheaper hotels have this saving mania...how much are you saving monthly, 50-100 quid per hotel with hundreds of rooms? In Premier Inn it was even worse btw. Average construction site provides you with more...)
Wifi was weak. At some point didn't worked.
I was able to hear what was happening in rooms around me, which was interesting experience as there was a couple doing woo-hoo. Very good for my sleeping problems lol. Oh, I found Gideons Bible in the drawer, so I had experience of studying it, listening to good old bunga-bunga. No cold water in tap so bathing needed some time to wait until the water became a bit colder than lava.
Big car park with really poor entrance.
There is a big chance I was unlucky as my team-mate was happy. He is a bit deaf so probably have no problems with bad sound isolation. Maybe more expensive rooms are better. Good luck

Cheap and simple accommodation, would stay again if I had to (i.e for work like this time) but wouldn't recommend, didn't feel covid safe at all. Also got a load of fines through for using the car park even tho the carpark is free for people staying at the hotel and we filled in our reg at reception.

The facilities would be good if you could get to use them. Very popular. Rooms ok. Beer was expensive. Avoid the Chinese places outside (all 3 of them) didn't think I was going to make off through the night on a plus side you can watch the football from the restaraunt if your lucky enough to get a seat at the window

Good stay at reasonable prices.

Good stay at reasonable prices.
Stayed here a for a night in a couple of occasions. The first time we were leaving before breakfast started so were offered a continental pack which arrived outside our room early - cold pastries and fruit. The restaurant has nice food, and the breakfast is ok too - when quiet the breakfast is plated for you and no buffet.
Bar has a good selection but is quite pricey.
Rooms are nice and clean, could do with more sockets as there was only one in our room. Bathroom big and clean also.
Used the pool both times (included in the room price) - not quite a full 25m but longer than most hotel pools certainly.

Good hotel for an overnight stay, staff were very friendly and room was clean and tidy, couple of quirks; to have the bathroom light on you had to have a big light on in the bedroom at the same time which isn't ideal if you are sharing and have to go in the middle of the night...

Overpriced and rude staff. Dinner was dry and flavourless and cost a small fortune. Only decaff coffee in my room, so went to reception to ask for normal coffee. Was brought to my room by night porter who then rationed me because "caffeine is not good for you". That man had balls of steel because it's not clever to stand between me and my coffee first thing in the morning. Terrible stay there, would not recommend.

Nice hotel and great staff. We booked adjoining rooms (double suite and advanced twin rooms) with an internal door for a family of 4 with 2 teenaged sons as we were here for 5 days for England Hockey Selections in Lilleshall National Sports Centre 20 mins away (drive). This gave us much more space, including a seating area in both rooms and desk space and obviously 2 bathrooms. Plenty of free parking. Located next door to a Dominos and 2 Chinese take aways. Walking distance 10mins to a gigantic 24hr Tesco (except Sunday as per UK laws only open 10-4pm), with Costa, Macdonald's, KFC, Asda home etc etc. Fast internet (mostly - one night some buffering encountered). In Covid19 times, rooms NOT serviced during a stay - but this was fine with us as we got the boys to make their beds etc and extra supplies of tea and coffee readily obtained from housekeeping or reception desks. Good showers with excellent pressure and lovely hot water. Think restaurant available upstairs and full English breakfast available, but we didn't try. Bar available upstairs too and after bar closing time reception staff happy for you to order drinks via phone in room and bring direct to room door - excellent! Think room service also available. Some smart TVs with Netflix available if you have an account and also HDMI ports so you can link your laptop if you bring your own HDMI cable. We did note that some drawer and cupboard handles slightly sticky but we assume this is due to Covid19 cleaning with antibacterial wipes as these often leave a slightly sticky residue. Would recommend you bring some cleaning wipes. Overall definitely recommended and we would come again.

Nice friendly hotel, the room was clean and comfortable, the food (dinner and breakfast) was good, and the attached leisure facilities well kept and not too busy. The best thing though was eating breakfast while looking over Telford FC's pitch!

stayed for 1 night back in June - I got there late but food was still being served, has a small selection of food, but was cooked to perfection and delivered with minimal fuss. although it was during the 1 week summer we had and it was baking hot outside my room was cool enough to sleep and the bed was comfy. only slightly disappointing aspect to the room was it had a bath with shower attachment - never a fan, but was good hot water. breakfast was delicious - hot and plenty of it - decent cup of tea too. i stayed due to work commitments and will do so again in the future if I need to.

Worst place I've stayed. Room was hot and took them 2 hours to find a fan after chasing the management up. Then onto the television that is blurry and gives you sore eyes. Food that's inedible and wouldn't give to my dog. carpet was damp in places, tea tray was filthy. Then onto breakfast no ketchup mouldy apples and lemons with no cereal or jam. Also they never took the plates back from us. Also no pool or gym or bar!

Save your money and go somewhere else!

Room was nice and clean, a decent size as well. The staff were friendly, the gym was one of the best gyms I've found at at a hotel which really made this experience stand out. Small pool but has a jacuzzi, clean steam room as well as a sauna. Breakfast was very nice as well. No hand fruit such as apples, bananas etc which would have been nice but the hot food and cereal selection was good. Great views of the football pitch from the restraunt. We didn't have air con in our room and if there was then we couldn't find it. That meant for a bit of a stuffy sleeping experience which makes this a 4 star instead of a 5 star review.
