Teensharp: Preparing Talented Black, Latino, and Low-Income Students for Top Colleges

Teensharp is a non-profit organization that aims to empower talented Black, Latino, and low-income students to attend and thrive at top colleges. Founded in 2009 by Tatiana Poladko, Teensharp has been providing comprehensive college preparation programs that help students achieve their academic goals.

The mission of Teensharp is to bridge the gap between underrepresented students and higher education opportunities. The organization believes that every student deserves access to quality education regardless of their socio-economic background or ethnicity. With this in mind, Teensharp offers a range of services designed to support students throughout their academic journey.

One of the key programs offered by Teensharp is the College Access Program (CAP). This program provides high school juniors and seniors with personalized coaching on college applications, financial aid options, standardized test preparation (SAT/ACT), essay writing skills development, interview techniques training as well as career exploration guidance. CAP also includes workshops on leadership development and community service projects which help students build strong resumes for college applications.

Another program offered by Teensharp is the College Success Program (CSP). This program supports first-year college students from underrepresented backgrounds who are attending top colleges across the country. CSP provides mentorship from experienced professionals who guide them through academic challenges such as time management skills development or study habits improvement while also offering emotional support when needed.

Teensharp's success can be attributed to its dedicated team of staff members who are passionate about helping young people achieve their dreams. The organization has received numerous awards including the 2019 Nonprofit of the Year Award from the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and was named a finalist for the 2020 National College Access Network (NCAN) Award.
