Great place to visit your homeless friends or see the shady part of downtown Victoria. If you hang out long enough you may witness a fight, a straight out assault or maybe even a stabbing. All in all a great place to take in the wonderful aroma of urine and street feet. Welcome to Victoria and have a wonderful stay. I would avoid it in the evening.

Good place in summer for festivals, food trucks, etc. Can get a bit sketchy at night. Bathroom renovations are finally done, but only one stall in men's bathroom now as opposed to the two they used to have? Weird to make a growing cities public bathroom smaller.

Centennial Square features a wondefrul fountain with two constructions ressembling totem poles. There is also a small playground for children. It's a nice spot for taking pictures. However, this is also a place where homeless people and junkies tend to hang around.

A walk, a coffee and a visit to centennial square. This main part of downtown Victoria is a beautiful place to hang out for a bit and enjoy the sounds ,the beauty and the goose that often is seen there resting.

Just visited the Lights of Wonder...what a disappointment! Hardly any lights at all, very basic displays and looks amateur. To top it off, a large group of street people camped out under the giant Christmas tree, smoking dope and fighting/shouting profanities at people. Amazing how our mayor and council continue to allow these people to be above the law. Great impression for tourists.

It's a great event and gathering place. It would be better if Sunday steet parking went back to "free" though. It would encourage more out of towners to come downtown and longer stays to shop and dine, supporting local businesses.

The public restrooms here have been closed for a year and now there's only portapotties. Other than that it's a great place to go to see the latest protest or catch a free live band!

Its a water fountain....what's there to review? The quality of the pennies people toss in...or the amount of hippies sitting on the grass???? Or the lack of water in their cool aquaduct thing.

I saw this as a recommendation for places to go with small children. As of one month ago this was a homeless encampment that featured several stabbings, missing youths and was the location of a drug ring operating out of tents. There was also a police bust where 16 people were arrested. So...bring your kids? Also - a city counsellor voted to keep the homeless encampment here so other counsellors would have to see and experience the results of allowing daytime camping. The other counsellors wanted to vote to remove the encampment - because Centennial Square is at City Hall and it likely made them unsafe at work.

This is downtown location of Victoria townhall office to pay property taxes or related bills or at reception enquire about bylaws. Apparently transit bus pass can be purchased here. A note that clean toilet is open to public just passed reception. Centennial Square looks deserted at the moment that's becuz it's still winter. Generally active comes summer with exciting events. Small groups of people hanging around basically the homeless some with shopping carts holding their worldly possesions. The public toilet below car parkage is filthy & some needles were seen. This is 1 toilet difficult to control.

Centennial Square. Something cultural is usually happening in the square. The square it self has numerous other social functions to treat you socially. Take a walk around the area as a lot is happening here.China Town is just across the street.Market Square is on the next block as well as the harbour front. You will need a day to explore the area.
