"An institute of national importance."
Well it's among the top NITs in the country. The campus is full of greenery but lacks 'haryali'. High magnificent buildings you will find but innner stories only the hostlers know. The campus is neat and clean. The so called food street sucks.

It has inspired, grounded and paved the way for a ...

It has inspired, grounded and paved the way for a new era for many generations of students to study engineering education. It has served as a foundation for many to ascend to higher peaks. Celebrating the Diamond Jubilee promises a bright future.

The National Institute of Technology (NITW) Warangal, which is entering the Diamond Jubilee initiative, is making significant strides in meeting the needs of modern engineering. What started six decades ago as the first Regional Engineering College in the country and has grown into the National Institute of Technology with higher education standards is invaluable.

The birth of REC in Warangal in the second half of the 1950s was an unexpected event. With the idea that the country needs a robust engineering system for reconstruction .. India's first Prime Minister Nehru decided to establish 15 regional engineering colleges in the country. Itikala Madhusudanarao, then the Mahabubabad MP (1957 -62) in the joint Warangal district, was so close to Nehru that he persuaded the REC to allocate it to the AP, including Warangal. With this, the then AP CM Neelam Sanjeevareddy also favored allotting 256 acres of land near Kazipet railway station.

On October 10, 1959, Nehru came to Warangal and laid the foundation stone for REC. Classes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering branches have started in temporary sheds with 150 students at Balasamudram in Warangal. Government Polytechnic, Warangal was used for laboratory and workshop classes. By January 1963, permanent buildings were ready in Kazipet. Since then REC has grown day by day. Deemed varsity in 2002 and National Institute of Technology in 2007.

Warangal REC / NIT has recorded all the recordable successes in six decades of golden rule with golden letters. Crossed many milestones. One of the best technical colleges in the country. The college currently conducts PG courses with over 750 students and 8 BTech courses with 850 students annually in 29 specializations in various disciplines in Engineering, Science and Management. Warangal Knit is the only college in the country to offer the highest number of PG courses in all NITs.

All the engineering graduates who have graduated from this institute are in high positions in various positions around the world. Getting jobs in multinational companies with good packages. The atmosphere of NIT students is growing in the campus placements undertaken by the companies every year. Warangal NIT receives financial support not only from the Central Government but also from global education funding agencies such as UNESCO.
Internationally recognized for its modern teaching facilities, excellent educational facilities and facilities. Warangal NIT receives Rs. 5 crore annually from various organizations to work in the fields of research and development. Companies like DST, CSIR, DIT, DRDO, BRNS, NRB are funding NIT. Currently, 74 projects worth Rs 17 crore are underway at NIT. Innovation & Incubation Center, Target Foundation with alumni, InnovationGarage with current students .. to excel with their advanced technical skills and vision.

Warangal REC / NIT ... has been intertwined with the education, social, cultural and movement of the local people for over six decades. Made many young engineers. Adapting itself to changing technology. Students from SAARC countries also study here under the Cultural Input Grant Program . Warangal NIT Mini India represents a mix of students of different races, languages and cultures.

NIT is located in the heart of Warangal city. The impact of its six-decade journey not only locally but globally is inevitable. It has inspired many generations of students in Telangana to study engineering education and has paved the way for a new era. Served as a foundation for climbing to higher peaks. Above all, the nature of the soil of Telangana, the culture of contempt for Warangal has spread to the horizons. Celebrating the Diamond Jubilee promises a bright future.

NIT warangal is a great place if you want to be a one man army right from your first year.
the authorities dont care about you at all neither do your seniors in your first year it is then that you learn to stand on your own two feet and become a well moulded professional. This place is not good for the education or the professors it provides but it is a truly good place to stretch yourself and taste the world on your own

NIT W, one of the best in my time with excellent academic environment, best placements after top 5 IIT's and insipiring peer group all around. It has a sound track record of Alumni to boast of. Support from admin is minimal, lot of red tapism and bureaucracy creates obstacles for student development and innovation. You are bound to get 4 years of fun filled experience and the peer group gives a confidence to succeed in future. Frankly, listening about other campus stories, I feel this college deserves to be ranked between top 8-15 colleges in India. Currently can feel the winds of change to improve the industry-institution relationships. Good place to lead a geeky engineering life.

This place has transformed me from a timid 'boy' to a responsible 'man'....there is a lot to work out - whether it be shifting your rooms or attending the classes-you keep on learning the ethos of life. When you meet tougher circumstances outside the campus you feel that you have faced/handled such things at some point at NITW and say 'Yeh to LIGHT hai '.

Now students coming to stay here will be quarantine for 10 day in other hostel then they ll be allowed to enter in their respective rooms.
Food will provided in parcel for quarantine students.
And most important is you have to take permission from chief warden to stay in the hostel. Without permission u ll not be allowed to stay in any circumstances.
But if u r coming to vacate the room then u ll be allowed.
