We highly recommend Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations. Always friendly, knowledgeable about their properties, and quick to resolve any issues that arise during your stay. The properties we have stayed at with Taylor-Made have not disappointed. Always clean and well managed. Will not use any other rental agency for future stays, and we have recommended Taylor-made many times to family and friends! We look forward to our next visit!
We had the best time here! House had plenty of room for our family and friends. Our kids enjoyed the hot tub and being able to walk near the lake. We had a small problem and they sent someone over right away to fix. House was super clean! We can t wait to return!
This was our first visit to a Deep Creek. It was a last minute change of vacation plans. The chalet was beautiful. Unfortunately there were a few issues. When we got there the dishwasher was over filled with nasty greasy dishes. I had to wash done by hand!!! Dishwasher definitely needs replaced it isn t doing it s job. There was very little soap in the place you would think with Covid it would of been different. I know it said one trash bag but for the amount of $$ I think you could do better. The hot tub wasn t very hot. We enjoyed our time just a bit frustrated with these few issues
Great family place with comfortable beds and a great hot tub. But missing lots of little basics that make a holiday easy, like kitchen towels, tea towels, and dishwasher tabs.
Wooded mountain lake relaxation. Fun hiking, boating, swimming, or viewing wild animals in nature.
We rented Inn 2 Deep for a week at almost $1,000 a night. Everything should have been perfect, right? Nope. The place hasn t been cleaned in at least a month. I have pictures of dirty carpets, dirt floors, 3 different temperature controls that don t work. Broken screens....dirty sofa....and the lake is a few hundred yards away....no view. Loooong walk....which I normally don t mind but with everything else....we are disappointed. There s broken glass near the fire pit - fun with your dog. The outside of the house is gorgeous but be ware - inside is a disaster. We won t stay the entire week.... completely ripped off. Won t use this company again . Can not recommend.
I can't speak to the quality of the homes, but due to the pandemic we had to cancel. Taylor Made was very easy to work with and issued a full refund of our deposit within just a few hours. By comparison Railey Vacations who we rented three other homes through for the same trip still refuses to budge on their cancellation policy. IF we get reimbursed any amount at all it won't be the full deposit and we won't see a dime until the end of August. The experience renting through and dealing with Taylor Made has been phenomenally better. When we are able to rebook our trip we will be renting exclusively through Taylor Made and not one house through Railey.
Great place for a weekend away. Came with a group of girlfriends and we had a blast. Enough room for everyone, relaxed in the hot tub and were close enough to local activities. Would come back.
There was a promotion right after we booked. They wouldn't honor it. Also said that the system wouldn't let them, which I do not believe. If the manager wanted to do an override, I am sure there is a mechanism for that. Will not be using them in the future.
After we arrived, the house was dirty. The surfaces had been wiped down (counter, sink, etc) but there was trash under the desk, candy on the floor, dust everywhere, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. There were piles of cigarette butts in the front porch and out back. There was an outlet without a cover (a major safety concern given we had 3 Young children with us) and the latch to the wood stove was broken making it unusable. Theu sent a cleaning person out, but she didn't clean everywhere. The management was apologetic but did not offer us adequate compensation (less than a 10% discount). Since going, I have seen multiple other people post about uncleanness in homes by this company.

Not been accommodating at all. We have used them before and this trip has been very terrible. Not very happy. No wifi, had to get that fixed. Not enough bed linens, they needed to come back out the first night. They have not been helpful over the phone either when trying to book and trying to get issues addressed.
Taylor-Made was very easy to work with. Even when they had to have me choose a different property after booking one, they made the process very easy.

Loved our stay with Taylor Made. Beautiful property - we had everything we needed for a four-day vacation. The property was clean, neat, and well-stocked. The check in and check out process couldn t have been simpler. Can t wait for a return trip next year!
I am sad to say that after staying at a rental with taylor made last summer and having such a great experience then that i am extremley disappointed with the experience i have recently had. I rented the property glen haven and when an emergency came about and i could no longer fulfill my stay i was told they would do their best to re-rent for the time i booked, in hopes i'd get at least some of my money back. After being assured that, it took them two and a half days to have it shown as vacant and able to rent on the website(mind you those two days are very vital as they were fri-sun)
When i called to speak to a supervisor about the matter i was told they did not have one, and dealt with someone who sounded like a child and obviously doesn't understand what the loss of $1,500.00 can do to an working, single adult.
I am sad to say that i will never ever rent with them again and will make sure that my voice is heard on this matter as i feel it is very unfair and left a bad taste in my mouth for sure.
We had a great time , love the cabin, location was excellent close to wisp ski, The house was spot clean and ready for us.

I have stayed at a Taylor-Made Deep Creek home every other Christmas for the last 6 years and it has always been great. This year, however, the house we booked was sold by the owners, and thus was taken off the rental market. My family and I were very upset, to say the least, as it disrupted our holiday plans less than two months before our get together. The staff at Taylor-Made Deep Creek came through for us however. Christina in particular was incredibly helpful, patient, empathetic and kind. She tried to put us in a house that matched all of our original parameters (which were fairly comprehensive as my family includes some very particular people). When there weren't any houses that really matched those parameters, she was able to find us a house that was even better than what we had booked. While the new house was considerably more expensive than the one that was canceled, Taylor-Made didn't charge me a penny extra. I would recommend using Taylor-Made over any other rental company in the area. And I would like to personally thank Christina for saving my family's Christmas!

Worn and outdated (and uncomfortable) furniture in the living area including the couch and loveseat, and every wooden chair

Blood and other bodily fluid stained mattress covers
Stained and worn pillows
Unclean comforters (terrible smell and stains)
General uncleanliness:
Dust and dirty floors
Under the couch probably hadn t been swept or mopped in months
the laundry from the previous tenant was left in the living room
Stained rugs
Utilities:
Stove and oven malfunctions
There was a burner out
Once oven was on, the stove buttons were too hot to touch and my sister burned herself
It took hours to cook simple meals because the oven temperature was complete malfunction
Every single dish was dirty
Kureig water container had mold
The hot water kettle was molded
Dishes, pots, and pans were stained and outdated
The grill was filthy
Chandelier in kitchen had an entire light out and was replaced with electrical tape

No worries was unclean, not sanitized (especially traveling during COVID), and not well maintained. Many of other reviews have pointed out the unsanitary and poor maintenance of other properties. Due to the unsanitary conditions seen, we chose not to use the pool or hot tub.
Taylor Made, it is time to revamp the maintenance of your properties. Take responsibility and accountability. Do not blame the cleaning company (as seen in previous review replies). This is a multifaceted issue with how these properties are maintained.
Our expectations were much higher, considering the amount of money spent for a two-night stay with my family. What are your values? Your website speaks to safety and cleanliness, but this property was so far from that representation. I honestly WOULD NOT recommend to potential customers. And, I could not bring myself to another Taylor Made Property.
I stayed on April first 2021 in Chardonnay chalet and it was the worst experience ever . The most horrible stay and poorest customer service . There were mice running all over this place , it was even a dead mouse inside the actual place . After leaving a place tried to leave a voice message and email for the management never heard anything back from them .
Please make sure you be very cautious renting this specific location or working with these guys.
Very disappointed in this company! With everything going on and the governor saying if you have a rental of over 10 people you MUST cancel or legal actions could arise and this company is NOT letting you cancel! This isn t our choice to not go on our trip.
The property was clean and well kept. Had everything we needed and then some.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet; loved it...so much that we extended our stay.
Unfortunate that checkout is so early and check in is so late though.
We will be back soon!

Hello I'm am so upset about the condition of the house I just rented. Sorry to say if my phone had no service it would not been a nice conversation. The house was very unacceptable. The bathrooms was nasty the toilets, counter tops, the hottub was dirty, door ways had cobwebs, no outside lights was working, heavy cobwebs all around the firepit chairs brushes etc., other guest clothes was in the dressers, so much dust everywhere ceiling fans under tables, along the corners of the hard wood floors, we found two large cobwebs inside the house with very large spiders on them. Along with other things. I would like to know why I spent so much money to stay in a dirty house that made me and other family members sick. Sick from so much dust all over the house. My nephew went under a table to get his toy that fell under there, he came out white as a ghost with cobwebs all over him. He was sick the rest of the stay. Why No one came to clean the house before we arrived is beyond understanding! I can't believe that this was the condition of that beautiful house. We could not use the house in full. We couldn't sit in the common areas with getting sick. We couldn't use the hottub at all after seeing how much disgusting dirt it was in it and someone had the nerve to put a cleaning card on the hottub for the date of 11/3/2020. No one cleaned that hottub at all. No one came to clean a home that was rented for thousands of dollars. How do you think me and my family enjoyed anything at that house when everyone started to get sick. We had to go to the store to purchase cleaning products to clean the bathrooms, countertop, railing and door handles along with other items. I had to call to ask for cleaning services to disturb my family time to ask that the house be cleaned. The cleaning could not be done at that point. If they cleaned the dust much more dust would have been flying around. We had already cleaned the bathrooms. The guy came the last day to place something in the hottub but after seeing all the dirt in the hottub noone wanted to get in. My family and I are sick at home now because of so much dust being in that house. I'm so upset! I didn't come there to have to clean the house or have call someone to come to clean it. I am very disappointed with renting that house, very disappointed with Deep Creek! I think we deserve our money back to be honest we shouldn't have had to experience this at all. Again we are all home sick now!
My family rented a home week ago and the house was a mess, there was dust everywhere and the furniture look like it hadn't been moved to clean underneath. The kitchen did have sets matching, for the occupancy..not enough dishes. The bedrooms were dusty and infested with bees and flies. One of the hot tubs had green water and dirty.
Taylor-Made is wonderful to rent from, and the service is exceptional. They even responded to an issue we had on July 4th. The only reason this isn't a five star is that the rental we stayed in, Welcome View Point, is starting to show wear. We have rented this same home for six years now, but we will probably move on to a different house next year. The house is very clean and beautiful, but there were certain things that need attention from the owners. The hot tub, for example, is extremely old, most of the jets don't work, the knobs are missing, some of the knobs have mildew on them, etc. The deck really could use a power washing, the outdoor furniture is really really worn and the cushions are kind of gross, there is a broken chair in the living room, and two of the three shower spouts in the master do not work. None of this is awful, and we enjoyed our stay as always.
We've traveled to the Deep Creek area a good number of times. We appreciate the hospitality shown by Amanda, Kendra and the Taylor Made crew! They are the best around. We LOVE Taylor Made and wouldn't think of planning a trip without renting from Taylor Made!
They have plenty of homes to choose from and the process is super simple. Thanks to Taylor Made for always making our getaways fun and relaxing!
We rented Tips Up the weekend after Labor Day. A group of coworkers/friends wanted to have a fun weekend getaway. The house was beautiful and spacious. It was exactly as shown on the website, if not even nicer. We had a group of seven and it was plenty of space for all of us. Seamless check-in when following the instructions that were sent to me via email. The hot tub was a nice way to end each day. Nice deck in the back....we were able to play cornhole in the side yard or driveway. The private, gated community on the top of the mountain was a very nice location. I didn t realize I was supposed to check out on the app until after we left, but it wasn t an issue as we were out of the house by the time listed in the instructions. I can t comment much on the customer service, as we didn t have to deal with the customer service team once, not even to check in. I consider that a huge win in my book. Everything was neat, clean, and exceeded our expectations. We all agreed that we would love to come back!
Very nice company to rent from. Our rental was very clean and well maintained. Booking was very simple and done online. Didn't have to check in anywhere, we went right to our cabin and were given a code for the lockbox on the front door for the key. It was just as pictured in the photographs. We had a very nice relaxing weekend and will definitely use Taylor-Made again for rental services!
To be brief: very nice houses, but subpar customer service. We stayed 12/24-12/27 in Waterlogged and Mountain Top (both nice, but Waterlogged is bigger and nicer within 3min walk of each other).
Taylor-made's biggest flaw is that their maintenance crew is limited to business hours, which includes being off on holidays, and they don't believe in compensating you for their wrongs. For example, in July we booked one house for December. In September I was told the house we booked had sold and was now unavailable. They simply said you can get a refund or pay full price for two smaller houses we have left (the trip was for family on Christmas so staying in one home was a big deal). Their initial response should've been sorry, here's additional options with x% off; I shouldn't have had to go back and forth about that. Also, while there we had to wait TWO days to get issues resolved (including a broken-taped up bed) because of the holidays. Their only response was to send someone out on the final NIGHT of our stay. It won't be your worst travel experience, but it won't be ideal either.
swimming bear lodge july 2016 was very stoic and clean, but pretty much a joke when it comes to dealing with maintenance, they will take your tip money but wont replace the grill, who wants to grill on a propane grill that barely reaches 200 degrees for a week? we really love ruining dinner for our guests -- come on... better values elsewhere. and why no recycling? its 2016

This house is absolutely beautiful, well furnished, spacious and is perfect for any type of family gathering. The attention to detail and amenities that this house offers will exceed your expectations. Of course, the entire staff at Taylor-Made Deep Creek is awesome, as always. The check in was efficient and timely and the house (and hot tub) was spotless! We are repeat customers and will return again as soon as we can. Stayed at a Cabin called "Reflections" & even though the Cabin was beautiful from the outside, the INSIDE was filthy, dust everywhere, old hair & nail clippings everywhere & the appliances were filthy also! Hot tub was cold and full of scum & hair! Left almost 2 days early & Taylor Made said that their TOP notch cleaners said they cleaned the property. I would hate to see their BOTTOM cleaners! They offered no refund & just blew me off! Never rent from them again! Horrible experience!
Just finished a week staying at Heavenly Grove in the Blakeslee Community. We have found our go to Deep Creek Vacation Spot after staying in a variety of houses and have already booked for next summer. This is a great house. Plenty of open space for the family to hang together with enough space to spread out as well. The kids loved the rec area in the basement. The proximity to the lake is a quick walk from the house and perfect for boating and swimming. Love this house!
Our recent family getaway to Deep Creek Lake with the assistance of Taylor-Made was amazing. I had numerous questions that were answered promptly, and the house was perfect for our large extended family and dogs. The app with further information about the area included shopping information and fun activities. This was so helpful. We can't wait to go back. While the house itself was ok, there were a few clitches I encountered. First and of utmost importance was the condition of our bed linens in our bedroom. When I pulled down the compforter at the end of the day I was shocked and sickened by numerous hairs on the fitted sheet. It also appeared very wrinkled as though they were never changed from the previous tenant. That is totally wrong..... Secondly, getting to the fire pit ( when dark) was very difficult as it is a slope to get to and sitting in a chair took some getting used to. Thirdly, we were not sure where the Lake Access was. We definitely did not think it was safe to cross a 2 lane highway to get to the lake. For the amount of money spent I would think better conditions would have been a given. Thank you, Jackie
Hi my name is Londia Lee and I checked in on Friday September 22, 2017 and left that same day.. address was 335 Waterfront. Anyway two of the bedrooms had bed bugs and when I called to inform them they sent a maintence guy out whom had also seen them as well. I was then told by Kim that the only way they could accommodate me and my family was to give us air beds!! Which I found to be very rude!!! Who would offer some one an air bed to stay in a house that has bed bugs??? I know she or none of their staff would have stayed.. well we left and will never visit there again!! I did receive a full refund but feel as the I have still lost out because we had spent more money that was a total waste.. like on Food that we threw in the trash and gas money as well.. that trip was a total waste....
I booked a rental for New Years and they changed the price they quoted me for double what they originally said called to complain and they told me they relized that it was the wrong price. Do not use them.
